Leanne,

That is certainly an option I have been looking at lately. Even to Commonwealth bank offers a master card debit card now.

Judy,

I am glad he gave you some antibiotics to come home with. You certain;y don't want to be taking any more chances.

Rest up and keep an eye on your incision. Any sign of redness get back to the Ave ASAP!

So glad to see you home.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Hi Pyretta

Get yourself a Debit Card instead of a Credit Card, I did years ago and it's the best thing I ever did. It's a St George Visa Debit Card and is used exactly the same way as a credit card i.e. over phone, ebay etc (although now I use PAYPAL on websites).

You just need to have what you are spending in the bank and when the card is swiped it debits the money from your account, similar to EFTPOS but you can't use EFTPOS for purchasing over phones and websites.

Pru,

Yeah I have uploaded a pic of the new do on Facebook, it's in my profile pics album.

Haven't gotten back to the pool yet, I need a new cossie and have found a great website to order from, but don't own a credit card. Hoping to arrange something soon. I really do miss my time in the pool.

I just go to the local YMCA leisure centre. I can't be sure but there should be one in Launceston. I hope you can find something.

Thanks Pyretta, its good to be back...

Your news is all good, so glad to hear how well things are going with you and the band finally.

Would love to see your haircut and colour - any pics yet???

So, back to the gym tomorrow...does that include swimming?
I really enjoyed the couple of times I went swimming with you, will have to get back into it myself.
I imagine there is a facility like that here in Launceston...will check it out this week.

Toni,

I really hope your physical problems are behind you and you can make 2009 your year to shine.

Optifast is great as a kick start, especially if your weight loss has been stagnant for a while. I hope the fill gives you the same sort of happiness my restriction has given me.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Pru,

So good to see you back on the boards.

Everything is still going really well. I think I am surprising myself at how little I am actually eating.

Hubby was a bit concerned to begin with, he thought I wasn't eating enough. It took a few days to work out that I was trying to eat too much in one mouthful. (I was putting too much on my fork, and even though I was chewing it was blocking up because it was all arriving at once.) Since working that out I really haven't PBed on anything.

Tonight was mashed potato, broccoli, beans and rissoles. For me, before restriction I would have had 1 cup of mash, tonight, about 1/2 tablespoon, before, about 5 broccoli florets, tonight,1 small floret, before, 1/2 cup of beans, tonight 3 sliced beans and before, 5 rissoles, tonight, 1/2 a rissole. And I am full and content!

I don't weigh in until February 2 but had my regular photos taken yesterday (I have undies shots taken every 8 weeks) and even I can tell that I have lost some from around the face. ( I usually don't see nay difference)

I am feeling much happier and confidant since the fill on Dec 22 2008. I had my hair cut short and am trying a new colour I haven't used before, I'm even getting back into the gym starting tomorrow.

I hope to see you around the boards a little more often.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Pyretta, I havent read your posts for months and it has brought so much pleasure to read that you finally are over your band problems and are starting to have restriction. It's a great feeling isn't it. Optifast Queen, I am doing Optifast for a week or so before I get another fill mid-January cause I so need to kick start my weight loss. I have had to give 2008 a big miss because my physical health has been no good, so my weight loss went to the bottom of the pile... This is going to be a good year for you too Pyretta. :) Toni

I managed a small small portion of roast vegies and cauli cheese for tea,,loads of the white sauce.Fell asleep on the sofa for several hours at 1pm,,, but off to bed early as going to Marions tomorow, 4 of us meeting up,,one lady is a newbie.Take care ..Carol

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Linda,

Yes I can still swallow my centrum, cut in half, and only in the afternoon. They don't get stuck in the morning but are uncomfortable. Around 4pm I don't have any trouble though so I take both the centrum and my 3 fish oil capsules with a hot cuppa.

Had them this afternoon and don't feel like dinner tonight! I am really enjoying this restriction business.

Carol,

Never mind about the mobile, email me if you need to chat.

Stick with nutritional fluids for a while, until you get those New Years Priorities in order. Me ALWAYS becomes before WE! You might want to mix it up with some soups, just for that savoury hit.

I wish you a happy and successful New Year and may you have no more health issues.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Thanks for that Pyretta - that all makes sense!

Glad to hear you have not PBed today! Yes we have to remember that we are trying to break a life time of bad habits. I have to keep reminding myself that 'food is not my friend, my friends are my friends'. I definately realised I had started to eat out of head hunger - I've reined myself in with the food and realised it really does not take much food to fill me up. Nearly got around the Mara river yesterday and went swimming this morning.
Have a wonderful New Year!
Love,
P1xie xo

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
P!xie,

Peter Baquie is a fine doc and be sure to raise any questions with either h9im or the girls at the centre, they are always happy to help.

Just because the port may have move has no bearing on whether or not the band slips, there is a lot of tubing between the band and the port so I'm sure your band is safe. If you had lost a good amount of weight between the op and seeing the prof, then that could account for the port not being where he thought is was.

I am enjoying this restriction, it is quite tight and it's taking be a bit to learn how to eat. I know it all in theory, but after 14 months of no restriction I fell back into old habits LOL. I'm sure it won't take too long. I haven't PBed today at all, so it's looking like I'm working it out.

I can't get an appointment that soon at the Ave so I might have to see when your next one is.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Hey Pyretta, My next appointment at the Ave is next Monday. I assume the Prof is away because he wanted me to see Dr Audrey, however, the poor lady broke her leg the Tuesday before Christmas and I am now seeing Peter Barquie (I think that was his name). I haven't heard his name before??? When I saw the Prof for my first fill, he had difficulty locating my port. He was just about to send me for an xray when on his last attempt he located it. He was surprised at it's location. This has me slightly worried. Once again he seemed very preoccupied and I did not want to bother him too much with questions (plus I was a bit whoozy from all his attempts) but I cannot help but wonder 'surely my band has not slipped already'??? I will be asking questions at my next appointment. I currently have 4.5 mls, however, don't feel any restriction from my band, only from my long scar which stretches and hurts if I over eat. After reading you have restriction with 6.0 mls - I'm hopeing the next fill will do the trick! I'm looking forward to finding my 'sweet spot'. I still want to be able to enjoy my food a little bit, certainly don't want to be vomiting all the time and am happy to take the slow road with my weight loss as long as I feel comfortable with myself this time next year! I so hope you and I (and everyone else of course) complete our weight loss journey in 09! Have a very Happy New Year! Love, P1xie xo

Carol,

Glad to hear things are on the improve. Make sure you define the limits and stick to them. Like you said, you knew what to do.

So pleased the food is going down, albeit slowly. The better things get the easier to eat.

Take care of yourself.
