| Hi Mary, I had a fill about 2 weeks ago, and it was too much. I went from 7ml to 7.5ml.. The next day I had to go to emergency and have the 0.5ml removed. I went back tonight and kD allowed me to have the 0.5ml replaced again. I was and still am worried that I wont be able to swallow my saliva tomorrow morning, and as a preventative measure Dr D advised me do drink water only tonight and tomorrow and Wednesday... please note this is under doctors recommendation - you dont have to do this to lose weight, I am chosing to do it. kD would prefer me to have 5ml in only. he believes "my body" wants to be 80kg... I dont need anymore fill. I want to be 75kg Kristy |

| Yeh.. I am on pure fresh (boring) water.. I am desperate for a cuppa.. :( I cant even have peppermint tea. :( dr knows best. Cross fingers I dont end up in emergency tomorrow. At this rate I will be at goal weight next week. Karl didnt rub my back.. liar, liar pants on fire. |

| Thanks B for posting the photos. Bern, Good for you...you won't regret it! Well, yes you will for a few days after your first attempt LOL Thankfully it does get better...not easier though! WOW Felice I hadn't seen your Wedding photos til now as I wasn't able to open the original email you sent. You looked amazing...infact you were 'glowing'! You both looked extremely happy...all the very best. Good luck with this fill Kristy...enjoy your tepid water ( you poor thing..is kD's being a tossa again? | hey guys, sorry I didnt make it to JL on Sunday - sore back, and generally not feeling well. Today a head cold has taken me over! On another note, went back to kD and had a fill tonight and he has put back the 0.5ml that he took out - 2 weeks ago.. and along with another added bonus 'lecture'. I am freaking out about waking up tomorrow morning and not being able to swallow my own spit, and after talking with him and waiting around in rooms with my cup of water (and finishing it all) he has told me to drink water only till Thursday - yep no tea, no coffee, no hot water.. just tap WATER. meh... how will I last.. ? Then start on soup and mushies on Thursday... |

| Ikeegan, I really admire that you gave "dieting" another attempt. For me I wanted to know I had tried everything too and that banding was going to be my last ditch effort in weightloss ( so it had to work for me! ) I also believe those that understand the basics of dieting eg carbs, fats, calories etc do so much better. Although we don't diet as such we do have to be conscious of the food choices we make and we do have to be prepared to eventually exercise...otherwise we stall BIG time! I decided at the start of my journey I wasn't going to flog myself at a Gym like I had over the years and to this day I haven't. I've eventually ( when my weight got down closer to 100kgs ) managed to motivate myself to exercise regulary. ( I think now wanting to fit into my clothes is the best incentive! LOL ) At first our weight will generally come away without too much trouble as the amount consumed alone is a far cry from what were were capable of before banding. But there comes a time when the pleatau hits and we have to go back to a few diet basics ( eg watching our carb intake etc! )or us all ) and some form of exercise. You have to move it to lose it...especially when your weight starts to pleatau. Good luck with it all and ask as many questions you like! vikki |

| Yeah i looked at ther band over a year ago..but my b.f said he absolutly did not support me, and did not want me to get it done. He asked me to really try and the gym, and with my diet, and if i could not keep any weight off for a year he would support me. I did this with no luck. I am working full time, and studying law also (2 of the 3 units a semester). Getting to the gym is such a struggle, not to mention i feel like every part of my body shuts down and decides to not work once i have gone. I feel like i am 23 going on 60. He does not have much of a say now,...i have to do this for me. |

| Hi Ikeegan, Welcome to the board. We have a few newbies about at the moment and it's great to see. You will find wonderful support, a wealth of knowledge and great information from those that frequent this thread. You will also find threads for different Perth Surgeons here ( eg Dr Watson, Dr Dolan, Dr Armstrong etc ) Many Perthites hang out in the Kevin Dolan thread so drop in there too! I was one that decided not to tell everyone I just had my elite 5 that knew ( my brother, husband and 3 supportive friends ) so I can relate to how you feel about keeping this to yourself. Im 19 months banded and still there are close friends and family that don't know and I'm at goal weight. It's your choice to keep your secret. | Hello, This is my first time using the yahoo system. I have finally been given an operation date. I am having my operation on 21 August 08. I have decided not to tell my friends, and only my boyfriend and my mum and dad know. None of them really know what it is like to be overweight, so am feeling a little isolated and extremely nervous. Hopefully i can spill all the bottled up feelings out here. |
