Well, Melbourne Cup Lunch looks to be a bit of a fizzer this year. I knew that A, S and V were all otherwise booked, which is why I suggested a SOR thing this year - but it looks as tho it will be a bit of a fizzer, or with only a handful of people going to anything we org an ise.
I too may be unavailable, but will have to wait and see what work brings as my contract finishes up at the end of October, so hoping for a week or two to catch my breath and ofcourse catch up on the social side of things.
I am still happy to go 'out' to something or have it at someone's place - I am easy - but you all know that - lol.

Kaz I always use applesauce so no confusion.
As it stands for melbourne cup I am tentitvely agreeing to go with my sis to roley on the ridge. Just with so much to fit in that month before we go away I am thinking close to home no fuss makes the most sense for me this year. I do hope everybody finds a super spot for their day :)

Hi Kaz, you will probably find that after banding your tastes will change where food is concerned. Just take it slow, follow the guidelines and you will be fine. We are all here to help. Take it from an 'oldie' Bandit, I've been banded over 5 years now.

Hi vikki and K
Couldn't believe the similarities in names. My nickname has always been Kaz and I noticed a Kas on the site. Secondly if I signed with a K that would only confuse matters more with Mytimeisnow62 who is also a K (by the way I was born in 62)
Do you find you miss the food freedom. I am an emotional craving eater rather than a hunger eater and I am concerned I will still try and have the chocolate etc that I crave.

Yes I agree with Vikki and Kathy, the best thing I have ever done.126kg in dec 07 now 79kg...only 4 to go to reach KD's goal weight for me. There have been a few glitches along the way (caused mainly by me NOT working with the band and eating too much of the wrong foods (chocolate is a health food option isn't it??)But fingers crossed I now have my head in the right space and those last 15 kgs that sat there tormenting me for 6 months are finally on the move.
(ps new id)

Yehhh K the other day I thought what has happened to your ID...A newbie on the same train of thought.
Hi mytimenow09,
It might help if you sign off with a firstname or letter as K does.
Everyone goes thru the "Am I doing the right thing?", "Will I come thru this op ?" " Am I going to fail". We all question ourselves. BUT having the band has been the BEST thing I have EVER done. Besides having my kids. I guess it's the BEST thing I've ever done for MYSELF.
Trust me those that dont even reach goal or have hiccups along the way still sing the bands praises.
I was 130kg lost 65 kgs and have snuck up a couple of kgs ( not exercising of late ) I am presently 67kgs...my life has changed. My health, my appearance and my 'outlook on life...all for the better!

I am not a Dolanite - but have been intrigued by your name as it is so close to mine.
I would do it again tmorrow in a heartbeat.
I was banded May 2007 and lost 40kg in the first year. I have had a few problems since then and long and short of it is that I would still have it done. It has been the best thing I did for ME.

Well you know I'm out for Melbourne Cup this year too...as Apple said you'll struggle to find anything for less than $70
And numbers/bookings will need to be made pretty.

I'm happy to have Melbourne Cup at my place but it means everyone travelling to Rockingham. The plus is that it won't cost much. We could have sweeps and raffles and as some people know I put on a fairly mean buffet!
If we put $25 each in that would cover food and some bubbly, orange juice etc.
Just a thought.

Yes Melbourne cup tends to be outrageous prices, would you consider an event at someones home. Either bring a plate or get some catering.
I checked with Silks in Belmont, they don't know
what they are doing yet say they will in about a week. Sometimes an org ****** ation books our the whole place.

The reality tho is finding a lunch under about $70 might be hard to do. It was when vikki was doing it last year.
