Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Hi,
Well i have lost quite a bit of weight over the past twelve months, and have been going out in public having a great deal of fun ( alcohol assisted!) and my NSV is I have the past two nights actually been dancing on the dance floor and felt the same as everybody else, I am so happy about that and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. and it has just begun, OMG I am so much happier in myself it is fabulous.

I recon go for it Tracey! I am the same as you, and as an experienced (though out of practise!) rider, it isn't like a beginner flopping around.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Tracy.. I was too embarassed to start until recently at about 75 kgs. I would think 80 is fine. My brother was riding a bit back and he is heavier than that.

It really is such a buzz... I LOVE IT!!!! Hope you are back in the saddle soon.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
To those who have started horse riding again, what weight did you get down to before you started?

I know some places might place a weight restriction and I would die of embarrasment if someone said I was too fat to ride.

Was thinking of waiting until 80kg but not sure I really want to wait that long. Am currently 98kg. Has been about 15 years since I have ridden but experienced rider so wouldn't be flopping about all over the place on poor horse!

That's amazing, Margot! I have dropped 90kgs and still wear some of the size 26 stretchy pants - and they don't fall off! I have always been amazed at how quickly some people drop sizes with weight loss. Sadly, I'm not one of those.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
I read a fashion tip recently that you should try on a size smaller than you think you need. Especially true with us as we lose weight. Came home recently ( and wore )new clothes that were actually too big. Couldn't believe that with around 20 kgs loss I have dropped from 24 pants to 16.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Hi Guys and Gals,
Haven't posted on here for quite a while, went into Rockmans today looking for some shorts as the weather is already heating up, anyway I looked at some really nice black denim shorts and thought the usual no way am I going to fit into them, so I looked through the Be Me section and thought hey I really think these clothes are too big for me now so I went back to the size 18 black shorts and thought what the heck I can only try them on and wahoooooo they fit just right.
I'm stoked as I had been stuck in the 90-91kgs range for nearly a month and just these last 3 weeks the scales have moved and today they hit 88.1kgs have not been or seen that weight for a good 20yrs, I love my band and so wish I had not waited as long as I had to have my surgery.
Hoping everyone else is going great guns also.
Best wishes,
Gerry.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Hi Jan... I ride here in Sydney at Centennial Park. I have to tell you that I was very very pleasantly surprised that I had no sore bits after an hours lesson. Amazing! The second lesson was a harder lesson and when I dismounted I did have wobbly legs for a few minutes, but nothing sore to speak of.

I can't wait to hear about how you go. Well done on achieving your goal of getting back in the saddle.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Leanne, well done on your NSV. My surgeon looked at me and said, 'wow, youre getting so much smaller' last time I saw him, I had lost 10 kg between visits, but it was a nice comment.

Karen,
I have spent a lot of years thinking that of skinny people too, but have come to realise that some are skinny because they watch what they eat and have a healthy lifestyle. SOme of course are blessed with my missing metabolism, which I am sure was shared around with other folk when I was made so there was none left for me!!! :-)
Have a good weekend of NSV's all....

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
i went back to work yesterday after having my band on the 11th. I have now lost 15.1 kgs. One girl said gee you look great and another said wow have you lost weight. I told them i was getting my gall bladder out as they are all thin and beautiful and wouldnt understand the need for a band.
Made me feel good that someone noticed.!!!!
Karen.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
I have had many NSVs but this by far is the best and probaly my last.

I walked into my surgeon's monthly support group last month, I had literally forgotten how much I had changed since last year, it was the first one I had attended this year. As I walked in I was greeted with so many OMGs, woo hoos, wolf whistles etc, and the most precious of all, those who didn't recognise me with my slimmer bod and new blonde do!
I'll cherish those agape mouths and sounds forever!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Mel!!! Your horse riding NSV is absolutely fantastic!

It's incredible that you posted THAT here today of all days! I was looking for an old thread THIS MORNING. It was called "Getting Back in the Saddle"
and I was going to bu mp it and bring it to your attention. We were discussing 18 months ago about riding again and only yesterday I booked my horse into boarding school and I should be back riding her from next week. (It's taken me years to get this far). I had lost 42kgs when I started that thread. I've now lost 60kgs.

How wonderful that you've started riding again. Please fill me in on the details...(were you sore after?LOL)

Have a read of the 'saddle' thread..I will bring it front and centre!

Very happy!

An NSV... I have started riding again... but also am finding that I really want to ski. It frightened the life out of me last year but I perservered and gave it another go this year. I would love to get down there again this year, but I am running out of weekends to do it.

A silly NSV... but I will take it!
