| I took part in the Brisbane city Romp today - 4 hours of walking from checkpoint to checkpoint around the city - only caught one bus!! I couldn't have imagined doing this just over a year and 45kgs ago. | Haha... that is so funny. I had visions of killing or maming the Milo babies - the three year old learners - yes 3 year olds. Either I was going to hit them, or them me... either way was scary. I can't tell you how good it felt to be able to say "I gave it a go"... something I would never ever have contemplated 2 years ago. Yes it was freaking AMAZING!!! I am hooked on the idea of it all... especially the Arpri skiing!!! Lots and lots of fun was had in a night club Friday evening, and dare I say it out loud here... men who probably had their beer goggles on I know... but they were trying to pick us all up... Even me which is something I am not used to at all. Avalanche LMAO - maybe a big big snowball... out of control in Thredbo! Mel |

| In the space of 2 days, My hubby and father -in-law have both commented on how I am looking good in regards to my weight loss. This is a huge thing not only cos it was a direct reference to my weight loss, but they are both males and we all know how much notice they generally take!!! LOL K |

| I went skiing this weekend. This is something I would never ever have even contemplated trying two years ago... not even last year I don't think. But I did have ski lessons and was able to ski down the beginners slope, slowly, but I did it! Mel |

| Flew to Brisbane this morning and was able to cross my legs in economy - I normally only do this in Business class!! the seatbelt had plenty of slack - and work got new uniforms & i can now wear a size 16 - tucked in even... when I tried them on 8 weeks ago I couldn't do them up.... gotta love the band.... | I am 43 kilos down this year (Banded Aug 07 was 115kg now 72) and I am just getting the fact that on my first consultation when the doctor said my goal weight was 65 kilos..... he wasnt joking??? Actually I think he was about 5 kilos on the heavy side :-) I could go to 60 |

| I can feel (and see) my face is smaller. Can feel my jawbones when I'm putting moisturiser on, and keep wondering why I don't have to spread it so far. The car seat has come forward a couple notches. The seat belt has room to spare. The bath sheet (yes, sheet - not towel) NEARLY goes around with no gaps. Not there yet, but the gap is closing. |

| I agree with Doreen. New bandits with a huge ammount to lose should break their goals down to 5kg lots. When I first started the thought of having to lose 60kgs was overwhelming and almost paralysing. I've dropped 51 of those kgs and have kept on top of it all by really focussing on the 5kg goal. Now I have to break it up to 2kg goals as it is taking me longer to lose the last 10. The other thing that really helped was looking at photos of people who had lost alot of weight. Look at the "Bandits with Blogs" thread - there are some inspirational images to peruse. As you get through your weightloss journey, more inspiration can be gained by looking back on your own photos and realising how far you have come. Jan |

| country mum, I feel my ideal weight now seems ,way too low especially at 45 ,I do not want to be a stick insect,lol, I am still around 68kg/69kg but dropping sizes by tightning up, but I never thought I would get to a 12 let alone this my tops are still larger( boobs)so I did not think the dress would fit but it does ,yes ,size 10 and my jeans (8)shopping has really made my week, ************************* ************************* ******** I still remember talking to you preband and remember you being banded , do not stress this works ,when your fill is good, you loose ( just do not go too tight) a lot make that mistake then eat easy foods (been there,done that )no fun, I have 3.5mls in 10ml band , I eat all proteins easy (chewed to like smooth peanut butter) but I try to avoid all carbs /and white foods , I eat heaps of protein,it really gives energy without it you cannot exercise etc, YOU can do it ,SET A GOAL,and work towards it mine were 5kg at a time then 2kg now even 500g is good , do not live by the scales (they are just numbers now) ,and if you still have them ,try your old (smaller)clothes on you never realise how soon they fit,Doreen:) |

| ruby,jan , feeling 20yrs younger minimum ,(so 25 lol), now (same size* 8*(jeans) as my oldest daughter who was a miss indy girl 5 ys ago), feeling so good,exept the boobs,gotta work that out yet ,but nothing a good fitted bra ,won't cover for this ,lol, crazy thing is weight wise ,I have not dropped much in the last 6 weeks but my sizes have dropped heaps ,as I have tightened up,? I also feel so healthy , but am still having fun getting my head around it all , (I dreamt the other night that the dr took my band ,and told me to go and do it myself now I woke up almost in tears ,lol,) I cannot wait for my reunion , (3 jam packed days of celebrating sounds great now),and I really feel so good ,about going now, I did not think I would make it into my goal dress, I am going to feel real good in front of a few of the the so called cool groups , really(8itchy girls) from school yrs ,who gave me/everyone heaps about my/their weight at the 20yr one when I was big and also may,I add (7 months pregnant), I think,I will even have a few drinks this time too,just gotta watch what I say,lol, can'twait to wear my jeans ,lol,love it, ACTUALLY ,YES A FEW DRINKS SOUNDS GOOD :) I THINK IT WILL BE TIME TO CELEBRATE, my new life ,Doreen:) |

| Doreen congratulations on your success! my 'ideal' weight is 52 - 60kg - yeh right!!! im currently 86.2kg 4 weeks post band and cant imagine being under 70kg but you have brought me hope that i can one day reach the 'ideal' weight for my height just for the record if your thinking 'why did she get banded if she only weighs 86.2kg - in January 2008 i weighed in at 98.2kg the heaviest i have ever been and it was the moment of truth for me H. |

| Wow Doreen, that is fantastic! My ten year reunion is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I have decided not to go because I'm not quite comfortable yet. I only got banded in August, and I have a LONG way to go. I think people would be shocked if I did go, because I wasn't this way back then. Oh well, next time! |
