Hi Pyretta

Mum did not remember making that deal, I think there were a few such deals made over the years.

I still have them somewhere, but could not tell you where. Probably stored in a box in the garage. Could never bear to throw them out. They will turn up one day.

Cheers
Sue

Sue,

Fant freaking tastic! I'll bet your mum was a bit surprised too. I have one question though, do you still own the skates?

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
This is kind of scale related, but I'm going to post it anyway.

I now own my roller skates!!!!!

Let me explain.

When I was about 13 all I wanted was my own pair of roller skates, you know the type, with the white boots. (well it was the 80's). Mum, in her never ending efforts to help me lose weight, bought me a pair (very expensive for a single Mum in those days) and said I could use them, but I would not own them until I got back to 9 stone.

When I was banded the thought crossed my mind, but I work in kg now, and when I did the conversion and realised it was low 57's I though I had no chance. But I got there this morning, I have digital scales that measure both, and today I flicked across to stone and it read 9.00.

So I sent Mum a text saying they are mine, all mine!! Only took me 30 years.

Not game to actually use them though, I would definitely break something LOL.

Cheers
Sue

Well done! I recall, when I was 80kgs heavier, absolutely DREADING dropping anything on the floor/ground (in public), which would mean I'd have to try to retrieve it without turning myself inside out. Sometimes it's the small things that mean so much.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
In 1991 we flew to Los Angeles for my brothers wedding and whilst there we went to the Mexican Quarter.I bought a belt at the market and have never worn it ,and I was reasonably fit then. They didn't quite have my size but of course "I was going to lose more weight so it would fit me soon" 18 years later and it now fits. There is more loose skin now but the size is shrinking.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Ya for me!!!!!!!!
I finally did something normal sized people take for granted. I went to Melbourne on the weekend ... first time on a plane for 24 years! Fitted in the seats no worries, did the seat belt up and pulled it tight (no extension needed) Walked the Vic markets without any problems... This is has been something I had been too embarrased to do for fear of the embarassment ....
Had a ball all weekend... LOVE MY BAND!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
I went up to the sunshine Coast this weekend, I always take my own bath sheet as I find the hotel bath towels just don't go around me! The room had a nice big bath so I decided to have one, when it was time to get out I realised that I left my towel in the suitcase, so I got out and used the hotel one provided.........it went all the way around me with no gaps!! I was able to wrap it around with some spare too!! I was stoked! I then decided to try the bath robe provided (never bothered before as I knew they wouldn't fit) that also fit comfortably. Both things just made the whole weekend great!! I love my band :)

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Yes I know exactly what you mean, I am still at the larger end of the clothes size 20 and some 18's, but started out at 22's and 24's.
I was wearing one of my favorite shirts yesterday a size 22 and was doing some reading with my special needs kids and realised whoops I was showing quite a bit of cleavage lol. Poor kids were prob. getting an eye full and I hadn't noticed lol.
I thinks its time to pass that shirt on to one of my friends lol.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
This is a strange one so I hope people can relate. When I waas 129kg and went clothes shopping the shop assistants always fell over themselves to tell me how great I looked in whatever I tried on (I didn't) so they were either being kind or trying to flog the clothes. Now that I'm 76kg buying size 12, 14 or 16 depending on brand, they don't say anything or are constructively critical - my interpretation is that I look just like everyone else - normal, an NSV I've always wanted!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Had a very unusual compliment today. I am male and I mainly work with females. I was walking out to my car after work with 3 female colleagues. As we were talking, one of them slow and almost bent down behind me. I thought this was strange and stopped to look at her. She then commented...very loudly...geez your behind (insert a much more expressive word here) it getting small! One of the strangest compliments I have ever received.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
hi all, this is my first post on this site. i was banded last thurs. but was on opti for 6wks prior. anyway, last tues we took kids to movies and i was rushing back from their swimming lessons and was fumbling around in dark for pants to put on as it had gotten cooler. first pulled one pair of pants out and whoa way too big, i used to wear them a fair bit, then i found the jeans i was looking for - which fit tightly pre opti - and i pulled them on without even opening up the button and zip, and they were loose(!) around my thighs. that felt real good!!!

Wooho Leanne, cords!!! I bet they don't make that whistling sound because I'm sure your thighs don't rub together!!
Corduroy pants are a real test of weight loss!!
Might have to try some on and see if i pass the test yet!!

Debra
PS. went to Dreamworld yesterday and fit into every seat!!!
I even went on the Tower of Terror and the Giant Drop. Not afraid to try anything now!
