| Your chats about the chgainsaw are bringing back lots opf memories for me. I remember once when we were kids my late dad bought mum a new electric frypan. Mum was not at all impressed, so for fathers day she bought hiom a set of new milking rubbers ( we lived on a dairy farm ). Poor dad he couldn't get it right, mum wanted/ needed a new frying pan but she considered that a tool of the trade. |

Jen, i've got an electric one which i manage well. They STOP instantly as soon as you let go of the trigger. I even let the kids use that (after strict instructions). I'm a bit nervous about a petrol one cause they need to slow down to stop and i'm the biggest clutz there ever was. But i really need one. Our 5 acres are on quite a slope and its really hard to get it from the road to the bottom paddock on the extension cord...or in the rain, which is when i really tend to need it. So i'll just have to learn :)
Beez, well done with the walking track. It still amazes me how much easier things are to do when you are dragging less weight around :)
Shady-Jen, I love it when they do the bird head thing at you trying to work out whats different, hehe! You're lucky being able to walk local. We can't do that here its too dangerous, no foot paths, rough or no nature strips and an 80kph road. Scary stuff! But i love looking at all the animals too, there is a little paddock with a tie-dyed goat a clydesdale and a big pig all sharing and another with an Alpaca who stands in his water trough. A Donkey rescue farm, minature horses and Wild Deer, just on our street! How cool is that! |

beezneez,
my starting weight in march was 130.1kg and I have lost 25.3kg so far and i'm only a shortie. I have to say not many people have noticed which I agree is disheartening but when the rare person comments I tell you its gold...pure gold.
The other day I was walking into a supermarket and saw a mum from school (one whos a bit gossipy) who I hadn't seen for a few months and she sort of looked at me puzzled with her head to the side...I said hello and then took off quickly with a big smile on my face.
It's the little things that keep you going..lol. I love trying on clothes and it's always a surprise when i'm not the 24-26, I still pick out sizes way too big. The choices in bras have also increased, some are actually a bit pretty.
I love you comment about walking on your farm, how many acres on you on? i'm on 3, but I love walking locally because of all the horses and dogs, sheep and alpacas to look at. It's much nicer.
Best wishes you are going so well, and good luck in getting a chainsaw.lol.

That gave me a laugh! I wouldn't mind a chainsaw, but have resisted as I would probably cut my foot off.

One of my Mothers day prezzies yesterday was a pair of knee high 'riding' boots with no side zip. I was trying to think of some polite thing to say to put off trying them on, because even now i can't get knee boots (or claf for that matter) on, but they pestered me into it, much to my horror... Well, I actually got my legs into them, along with the legs of the size 12 jeans which came with them!
I couldn't beleive it! My last pair of knee boots, i was 18-20yo i think, well more than half a lifetime ago anyway! I'd given up on ever being able to get an 'off the shelf' pair. :)
But can i say, i'm a bit dissapointed. I really love the boots and jeans :) but i really wanted a new petrol chainsaw! You can only join so many extension cords together. Oh well..birthday's next month, i'll have to campaign harder ;o |

I have a few wrap around dresses that have been a godsend. They have gone from just overlapping to now wrapping the tie twice around my waist.
I also have a couple of those cardigan tops that you would tie in front over a cami. Now I wrap the top around me and tie it at the back!!

I never thought I would have a problem finding a shirt to wear to work so soon. On Friday I literally tried on 4 of my work shirts everyone one of them hung like sack bags, only 6 weeks ago I wore these shirts all the time to work. The first one was so loose when undone it over lapped by about 20cms.
In the end I was quite frustrated and ended up wearing a new shirt size 18 I had been keeping for when I'd lost a little bit more weight, but it fitted, although a little tight around the tummy still, but it fitted. |

I had a back handed compliment the other day LOL
Ihave lost 35 kgs and not many people have said much. I have been a little dissappointed thinking gosh i must have been huge and still huge. Wekll I was-131 kgs now under 100.
Well i move around work sites in my job, and I was at a site I had not been to since January/ Feb. One of the secretaries stopped me and said wow i think you have lost weight i said i had . She said wow how much, so i told her, She was shocked, i could tell i just laughed at her reaction. Then later some of the other staff mentioned i had lost weight ( obviosly after talking to secretary 1). Then one said to me " Well of course I never considered you fat, like some people you were just always you" I think thats what i call a back handed compliment lol |

Wonderful to read the NSV's - and so great to see newbies experiencing the 'gains' of having a band!!
I had an odd one yesterday.... I walked to the bus stop from our house (a maximum of 5 minutes tops) and got a wolf whisle and 2 cars calling out at me. I was extreamly embarassed and abit scared as I assumed I was being made fun of (I checked to see that my fly was done up and had no TP hanging out of my pants). Shaken, I called my huuby who said "see! You're one sexy married woman! Take it as a compliment!"
Maybe :-) |

I have a few from the same night .... Went out last night, had a few drinks, (i hardly drink maybe like 3 times a year?) Anyways, was to see a band, my dad have a t-shirt of theirs, and i tried it on and it fitted!! It was a size XL! There is about 20 kgs difference between me and dad, me being heavier. Second thing was, i had to show another form of ID at the door, as they didnt think that one was me, it was my drivers license, but i do admit, i look like a puffer fish in it fat face and all, so for the rest of the night my license was going around haha! Then had the singer walk up to me and comment on my weightloss, he is good mates with my brother but i hardly see him, and then brothers best mate commented aswell! Was a good night!!
Now i just wish i had as much sleep as i did fun!! haha had like 4 hours sleep, i exhausted today, OH! and i had the energy to "dance" which is mosh pit jumping, i got dragged down there by my brother *sighs*

Went shopping today with hubby & son for my mother's day present. They wanted to buy me a beautiful winter dressing gown. The only size was a small and I told hubby that would be no good. So we went searching somewhere else. He then says - i think you should try on the small. So I did - and yep - it fits!!! So 2 nsvs = 1 - would NEVER have let hubby buy me clothes because I wouldn't want to tell him my size!! and 2 - I have gone from a size XXL at the likes of Autograph/Be Me etc - to a size Small in 'normal' sizes. So very happy!!

SW: 131.5kgs
CW: 75.5kgs

Hi Pyretta
Mum did not remember making that deal, I think there were a few such deals made over the years.
I still have them somewhere, but could not tell you where. Probably stored in a box in the garage. Could never bear to throw them out. They will turn up one day.
Cheers

Fant freaking tastic! I'll bet your mum was a bit surprised too. I have one question though, do you still own the skates?

This is kind of scale related, but I'm going to post it anyway.
I now own my roller skates!!!!!
Let me explain.
When I was about 13 all I wanted was my own pair of roller skates, you know the type, with the white boots. (well it was the 80's). Mum, in her never ending efforts to help me lose weight, bought me a pair (very expensive for a single Mum in those days) and said I could use them, but I would not own them until I got back to 9 stone.
When I was banded the thought crossed my mind, but I work in kg now, and when I did the conversion and realised it was low 57's I though I had no chance. But I got there this morning, I have digital scales that measure both, and today I flicked across to stone and it read 9.00.
So I sent Mum a text saying they are mine, all mine!! Only took me 30 years.
Not game to actually use them though, I would definitely break something LOL.
Cheers

| Well done! I recall, when I was 80kgs heavier, absolutely DREADING dropping anything on the floor/ground (in public), which would mean I'd have to try to retrieve it without turning myself inside out. Sometimes it's the small things that mean so much. |
