Woohoo, the waist on my favorite jeans that I only just fit back into a few weeks ago is now loose...the button doesn't dig into my scar...yay!!!
Also I put on a knitted jumper with a floppy cowl neck that I bought years ago...and it fit perfectly...so glad i'm a hoarder...lol |

What I don't get is why no one tells you that strange parts of you will shrink.
Like your feet!
I wore some shoes last winter and when I went to get fitted properly for my sneakers the guy fitting them took one look at the marks on my feet and said that they were too tight. (Yeah, the fact I had to wedge my foot into them and couldn't get them off it my feet swelled was a bit of a give away!)
Anyway, I got those shoes out again this week to wear with my jeans and they were too lose! My feet were sliding in and out of them and I tried to run after my son and left one behind! No one told me my feet would shrink.
Oh well. Wil have to go and buy some new shoes as well as some size 16 jeans (my 18's keep falling down and taking undies with them. Only a matter of time before it ends very badly!) |

| When I snuggle up under my doona this winter I don't have a cold bum sticking out of the side! It covers me up completely with some left over. It's funny the things you notice isn't it? |

People are starting to say they can't recognise me from a distance. Had one of the footy coaches not know who I was as I walked over the oval towards him to say hi.
Cool!
I guess 40 kgs does that.

How amazing - I haven't bitten my nails either since banding! Wonder why there are so many of us that have stopped cold turkey!!!
Now I can paint my nails and admire my diamond ring!!!!

Hi Debra,
I too have stopped biting my nails since the surgery, too scared they will get caught in my new little stomach or worse still over the opening lol.
Still have them in my mouth at times tho lol.
Best wishes,

I don't know if this is a NSV (cause I have'nt figured out what it stands for yet...I am blonde by the way)all my life I have always bit my nails severly...since surgery 30/04/09 I have not even had a little nibble and they are starting to grow nicely.
Still waiting for the scales to move.

| I saw someone last night I hadn't seen since September (which was 3 months post-op). I noticed he was looking strangely at me, and when I was face to face he said he just hadn't recognised me. Don't think I've changed THAT much, but it was nice to hear. |

Hi all,
Had a NSV that I thought wouldn't happen yet, we visited some friends last night and their daughter aged 13 came up and gave me her usual big cuddle, I turned around and said so do you think I've lost any weight yet and she replied yes Aunty Gerry ( she calls me Aunty even tho I'm no relation) I can wrap my arms right around you now and they overlap.
That made me feel better than any other comments I'd received of late, like oh we can see your losing weight in your face ect.
This comment actually meant something real.
Hope everyone else is doing great guns,
Best wishes,
Gerry |

Hi Beezneez
I haven't been online for awhile what with packing and moving etc. Griffith doesn't look like it's happening at present. So my husband and I are homeless and jobless!! Wow what a great feeling!!. We are trying to drive down to Sydney. Got caught up in the flooding. had to turn around just before kempsey, retrace our drive to Coffs harbour, go around Grafton then across to Glen Innes. Finally tonight we arrived in Newcastle.
I did the ypoxi therapy in Brisbane: Coorparoo (down the street from where I lived).
Yes it is a permanent thing but the results are so good you want to keep doing it.
initially you purchase a 12 visit package. they measure you from waist to kneees when you start then at the halfway mark and then at the last seesion.
Overall i lost 33cm!!! 9cm from my butt. 3 cm from each knee. 7 cm from my waist. I would have liked to lose more from my thighs ( it was only 4cm) but I was certainly impressed with my results.
If you google hypoxi you should be able to find locations close to you. I went to the Bare Hairfree Centre. They are a chain throughout Australia but not in griffith. But I have seen othe beauty salons have it.
I would highly recommend it.
