Hey Vikki
Thanks for that, I know that 91kg's is only 2.3kg's away but I have a feeling it is going to take some hard work to get there. I have been sitting at 93.3kg's for about four days now and I can feel my fill wearing off as I can seem to eat more than before. Luckly I only have to wait until the end of September for my next fill, I will be hanging out for it by then. I am going to increase my exercise until then to help knock off those last few kg's!
Thanks again,
Carla |

Hi Jane
So nice to hear from another bander from Bunbury, even if you aren't banded yet you will be. I'm sure Nick will do your op, as long as your BMI is over 40 or over 35 with other weight related issues. He is a great surgeon, not the best people person but a fantastic surgeon.
Good luck with your appointment.

Yay Carla! Great NSV! I have been silently reading all the posts - but yours in particular since you are a Bunno girl. I see Nick tomorrow... and have had times of thinking - yep, I'm definitely going to have it done (if he agrees etc) and others when I think... it all sounds too hard. But going into size 16 jeans would be a major thrill. Like you, I lost weight (20kg) last year (Cohens) but have put most of it back on. So I still have those smaller jeans just waiting for me to put back on!!

This week I have had a link on my watch removed, and I have fitted into my 'skinny' jeans. These jeans are two years old, from when I lost about 10kg's on one of many diets. It was the most I had ever lost and I was the skinniest I had every been, 92kg's. Anyway I am now 93.3kg's and fit these jeans - although the scales haven't really moved in the last few days I am still happy with my loss so far.

I love this thread too!
It is really inspirational to read all the NSV (big and small)
I relate to them all. Having experienced some before when I have lost a little weight...and then there are ones I dream of in the future once banded.
Well done susietwiglet thats big!

NSV's are such personal issues and I love reading about them, well done to you all.
I had a good one last night: For the first time in over 20 years I ate my tea (on a plate) off my knees whilst sitting on the lounge. I've not had a lap for years and used to hold the plate and manage with just a fork but last night the knife was used as well because the plate balanced on my knees. |

| There's nothing worse than that feeling of burning humiliation. Just thought I'd argue your point that you have no NSV's yet - if you've started your journey, then that's your first one, I figure. It's the biggest and most rewarding one of all, finally deciding to change. The little ones will follow in no time, good luck! |

I don't have any NSV's, YET anyway.. just starting my journey! but a few weeks ago, I had to ask for my first seat-belt extender on a virgin blue flight :( I was sooo embarrassed.. thankfully qantas belts are a bit longer for the journey home, but still, didn't want anything to eat, as didn't want the embarrassment of trying to put the tray down... not to mention while away, I went to go on a ride at dreamworld with my friends, but had to get off one as i didn't quite fit...yes, I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die! a friend wants me to visit Him in 'asia' (when posting the actual country it kept saying I had posted an offensive word... what's with that??)
anyway ... yeah right, land of the petite & skinny, as if!
Ahhh, thank goodness I'm home.. I am looking forward to the day when I can post my NSV & plan a world trip without fear of any embarressment or whether I'm going to sweat too much ;)
Congrats to all those who have & posted NSV's, your an inspiration:)

Hi all,
this NSV thread is definately my favourite on here. I got banded in Jan., and last tues I had my second fill. I'm at uni in Victoria and no-one knows my big secret, just my family back home (in Tassie). The fill was pretty tight so I've hardly kept a thing down all week, been feeling really miserable...but this thread reminds me why I did this! Personal favourite NSV's of mine are my Mum telling me last time she saw me that my pants look ridiculously big now, and having to change my favourite ring to my middle finger when it kept falling off my ring finger! And not caring if I don't ride 'shotgun' in friends cars, because amazingly, the belts in the back seat fit with ease these days! Plus, of course, the discovery that I actually DO have bones! Imagine that!!! The collarbones are my favourite...
Oooh that was long. Anyway, I think you're all an inspiration, thanks heaps x |

Thank you to everyone who has posted. It is lovely to have positive things to read. It has inspired me to make an appointment to get a referral to the surgeon. I have made up my mind to get banded. Thanks everyone. Not even my husband knows yet.

I love the NSV's. You wouldn't be able to wipe the smile off my face Tanya if I fitted into a size 10 (I'd want to wear the tag on the outside just so everyone knew). I used to cut off the tags in my clothes when I was a teenager just incase my friends could see the size I had to wear!!! Sigh!!!!!!! soon it'll be my turn!

Thought I'd let you know that I have a date for my surgery...5th Oct! Yes here I was thinking yesterday that I had to wait another 5 weeks for my inital appointment with Dr Dolan and then a friend informed me that she wasn't going to need her appointment today and that I could take it. No convincing required... I was there an hour earlier than I needed to be. Wow I feel like this is another non scale victory for me!!! Roll on October!!

Tanya,
I have to be another one to say congratulations. I've never considered for a moment that I would ever be a size 10. You must be so excited.

SO so so happy for you Tanya....I'm wrapt for you. Its really nice to hear from someone that has been banded for a while....and one that has reached well beyond their goal weight!
So beautywthn33 when are you going shopping? Do let us know when you get that dress and more importantly when you get into it.
I have made my appointment to see Dr Dolan...saw my GP today and got a referral. But I have to wait 5 weeks until the I see him.....darn.... I wanted to get the ball rolling sooner. Still, I am excited and thought I'd start on Optifast to ensure Im ready to go when he is. I've tried Optifast before but I guess my heart wasn't in it like it will be now. Sticking to Optifast will be a new NSV for me...actually it will be a win/win situation as it should also result in a SV.

your message made me cry. i didn't realise i was feeling so emmotional and you are the first person to respond to me. just like you i haven't told people about the banding either {just my husband and young kids who are sworn to secrecy}. thanks so much for your kind and supportive words they are just what i needed. good luck tomorrow
although i'm sure it will all go well, i was actually very
suprised with how quick and easy the whole process was.
thanks again beautywthn33 |

Lovely post Vikki
I have had a recent NSV. Cleaned out my wardrobe recently and came across some nice work pants in size 18 I bought in February hoping they would fit when I lost a few kilos. Well I tried them on and they are too big now and I still can't wear them!!! I have an interview this week and I guess I will just have to go out and buy a new work outfit. What a shame. Lol.
