Re:NSV's Reply to this message
well done on all the great nsv's i love reading them :)

and Jen you will love the bones as they appear even more....:)

i also say the girls at bra's n things are usually great i have been fitted numerous times on this journey for good fitting bra's it makes such a difference to how we look

before banding i was sort of squeezed into a 28DD with 2 bra extenders to get it to do up and ofcourse i know many will relate i spent the entire day pulling it down and rearranging...sigh think i spent my whole life doing that bra's were always so tight, uncomfortable and a nightmare

i had a fitting for new ones just before i left sydney and am now a 10E....makes me chuckle...but i am a bigger cup size but i doubt i actually wore the correct cup size pre banding as i just fitted them myself

even my first bra as a teen was a flippen 18C so i love so much being able to now buy and wear such pretty ones and the best thing is i dont feel it all day...for me i think this was one of the best nsv's i mean i love the clothes etc but to be comfy all day in my bra is one of the best

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
My hubby was rubbing my back and shoulders lastnight...was lovely and he said, "Geez your shoulders are skinny". Aaaaah, i'm boney....woooooooooooohoo ooooooooooo!

My collar bones are just starting to peek out, looks wierd i'm not use to it and my face is looking more angular. This journey is so awesome, I can't wait to get to the finish line and i'm now at the half way mark.

My goal for next winter a pair of leather calf high boots and a fine woollen dress and opaque stockings (apparently you have to be under 90kg for them..hurumpf), ooh and one of those funky woollen hats. Oh my gawd i'm returning to my teenage years..lol

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Jo,

the ladies in Myer Carousel (cannington) are awesome and they have a really good range and of brand name quality bras. I find bras and things have a small range and the quality is poor in their own label.

Good luck

Deb, you lucky thing you, i'm down to a c cup....hubby says with a mournful face, that theres less than a handful now. Poor man.lol.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
You scored on two fronts:: fitting into medium size and only paying $20!!!
I went shopping at Burwood shopping centre the other day and basically walked into every dress.I didn't have to stop and think :will they have clothes that may fit me? Bought 2 size 12 tops for $35.
Thank you also to the very patient girl at Bras N Things as well. She must have shown me at least 20 bras in my endeavour to find the perfect bra: one that lifts them to my armpits without spilling over the edge. I'm still a DD cup, much to my husband's delight!!!

All the best, changeforthebest. Everyone's journey is different. I can certainly sympathise with people who find the band doesn't work and go onto other stypesof WLS. I am such a strong advocate of having surgery! We need all the help we can get with our eating problems. Great success so far, matey! Keep up the good work.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
After having my lap band removed 4/06/09 (not a great deal of success for me - had it done with a different surgeon) and then had a bilio-pancreatic diversion (form of gastric bypass) be the wonderful Dr Kevin Dolan in Perth and have lost
11.9 kilos in 3 weeks today. Very big operation and not for the feint hearted but great to see such a wonderful weight loss finally.

Thrilled to bits and cant wait to get even smaller. Was 105.5 kilos day of surgery and now am 93.6 kilos!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
1. Hiking up a mountain on the weekend. My body felt great.

2. Jogged to the deli with the dog to get the newspaper the other night. I was trying to stay warm. Didn't realise until I got home that I had jogged about 1 km and wasn't out of breath. Miraculous!!

3. My former student from last year approaching me at the supermarket and saying "you've lost HEAPS of weight! Everyone at school talks about seeing you and how you lost heaps and how you're skinny now." Chuffed!! But kinda freaked out that I am the talk of the town, so to speak. It doesn't matter that it's in a good way! lol

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Started back at work after nearly 5 years of being at home, and today I did some filing and someone was already in between the big rolling stacker files leaving only a small gap for me....and I thought, nah I don't fit...but I did. On my first day when I saw my chair my heart sunk, as it had arms, and I though gosh i'm not gonna fit in it. Low and behold, theres room to spare.

Pretty chuffed. The other things is there are two flights of stairs to get upstairs and i'm having to use them up to four times a day on 3 times a week...yay!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
I have been dissappointed in my weightloss only 7kg. I have kept a record of my measurements and I am happy with the loss of cms I have lost since surgery 30/04/09....
Bust 9cm
Mid 14cm
waist 9.5cm
Hips 18.5cm
Thighs 6cm
A top I used to have to pull down as it would creep up and expose my belly a little, sits nicely past my hips.
AND!!!!!!!!!!I still have'nt bit my nails...
We are all doing great and should be proud of ourselves, a great big pat on the back to all.
