Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Hi Beezneez

It took me 18 months to go from a size 26 to a 12 (with many pairs of new jeans in between LOL), and a body lift to get the flat stomach and the size 10.

Cheers
Sue

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Hi guys

Thought I'd share a few of my NSV's (non scale victory's):

1. My rings are falling off!! having to move them to larger fingers now, soon I'll be wearing them all on my middle finger!
2. Our receptionist at work no longer pushes her chair in (so I can fit past) when she sees me coming. She hasn't commented on my weight loss but hey, her actions is comment enough!!
3. Can actually feel my jaw bone when I wash my face!
4. My dog (a 55kg ridgeback!) and I lie comfortably on the couch now without oozing over the sides! He's pretty happy let me tell you!!

Well Done Tara!! I bet it gave you such a confidence boost too.

I've decided my next NSV will be to book a massage at a day spa. I've booked a weekend away next month in a beautiful little cottage in Daylesford, which is spa country and have always wanted to have a massage done but have been too scared of taking my clothes off and breaking the table lmao.. but stuff it im going to do it!

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Loved readong all your stories but can I ask a very blonde question what do the letters NSV stand for??? I've had a look through and can't seem to find the meaning. Sorry if it is in the thread.

Looking forward to adding my stories after my banding in August
Cheers,
D x

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Fantastic Tara for overcoming the fear even with the help of valium lol and doing it anyway. Am sure you feel like a new woman. Its amazing getting your hair done, having your nails done or something similar does heaps for your self esteem and lets others know too that you care about yourself.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Kellie, (and everyone)

I just got my first real haircut in twenty years !!!!!

I have really long hair and I knew I needed it cut no, styled but was just too scared.
Anyway I had it washed today and caught a glimpse of myself in a shop window. I just look daggy, frumpy and old!!
So I turned right around (took two Valium - lol) and walked straight back in and declared CUT IT !!
I love it - I look like I am from the 21 century now instead of the 80's!! Yay yay yay.
I'm off too look in the mirror - ha ha ha.

Cheers

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Thanks Sharon.. i'd be so horrified to do my own shopping that I relied on my best friend to do it for me.

My next goal is to go to the footy again.

I'd love to know what others are looking forward to doing again.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
Thats not lame Kellie - I used to do the shopping and be exhausted for the whole day! I would never have added something else to the same day as it wouldve been too much. You will get more energy in time especially as the weight keeps coming off. Well done.

My first NSV is kinda lame but it made me happy.. for the first time in years I walked around the supermarket without getting bad back pain and sore legs.. it was wonderful. I'm no longer scared to do the shopping.

Following a bilio pancreatic diversion (type of bypass) these are my results so far - date of operation 4-06-09

Hi all

This time around I am documenting my progress more thoroughly and in total weight loss I have lost 12.4 kilos so far:
16" or 40.5cm overall bodywise
BMI was 39.2 day of operation and is now 35!
So am a very happy camper indeed.

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
well done on all the great nsv's i love reading them :)

and Jen you will love the bones as they appear even more....:)

i also say the girls at bra's n things are usually great i have been fitted numerous times on this journey for good fitting bra's it makes such a difference to how we look

before banding i was sort of squeezed into a 28DD with 2 bra extenders to get it to do up and ofcourse i know many will relate i spent the entire day pulling it down and rearranging...sigh think i spent my whole life doing that bra's were always so tight, uncomfortable and a nightmare

i had a fitting for new ones just before i left sydney and am now a 10E....makes me chuckle...but i am a bigger cup size but i doubt i actually wore the correct cup size pre banding as i just fitted them myself

even my first bra as a teen was a flippen 18C so i love so much being able to now buy and wear such pretty ones and the best thing is i dont feel it all day...for me i think this was one of the best nsv's i mean i love the clothes etc but to be comfy all day in my bra is one of the best

Re:NSV's Reply to this message
My hubby was rubbing my back and shoulders lastnight...was lovely and he said, "Geez your shoulders are skinny". Aaaaah, i'm boney....woooooooooooohoo ooooooooooo!

My collar bones are just starting to peek out, looks wierd i'm not use to it and my face is looking more angular. This journey is so awesome, I can't wait to get to the finish line and i'm now at the half way mark.

My goal for next winter a pair of leather calf high boots and a fine woollen dress and opaque stockings (apparently you have to be under 90kg for them..hurumpf), ooh and one of those funky woollen hats. Oh my gawd i'm returning to my teenage years..lol
