| Hi all Im a 1st time poster and after a drawnout time have managed to get a referral to Mr Leong for my GP after having to change Gp's.This forum has been a major source of information and all of you must be thanked for the insight that you have given.I wish that I was able to attend your get togethers but I live in counrty SA, and time in Adelaide is short. |

| Hey Kathy Forgot to mention she didnt do the 2 weeks of Optifast she used her Cohens diet instead. Your free to have a winge thats what this is for :) I am tossing up between Dr Leong and Dr D'Onofrio may i ask why you choose him? I am not sure who to go with? Teena |

| Hi Teena. Thanks for that reply, that makes me feel better. I've read a lot of things on this Forum and I think I'm pretty clear on all the things I may experience. I was just worried because you always hear about Dr Leong, Dr Bessell etc but not D'Onofrio. That's good that your friend has lost almost 10kg. I've been on Opti for just over 2 weeks now and have lost 9kg, got a bit cross this morning because scales haven't moved since Sunday. I know I'm expecting too much but it's really hard on the Opti and when you're not cheating its disheartening. Sorry about that whinge!!!! Have a good day. Kathy |

| Hi Angela Sue has her group at The Womens Community Centre At Stepney, They ended up staying there. They meet Tuesday evening 7pm every 4 weeks. next one is 26th May. (they had a meeting last night). Hope this helps Donna |

| Hey Kathy My friend used him a approx 6 or maybe 7 weeks ago surgery went excellent for her but he wasnt to clear on exactly what will happen and how you will feel and she had to ask a lot of questions to understand why she was experiencing her shoulder pain etc. So just be sure to ask him to explain things well so you understand. Other than that she is doing excellent and i think lost almost 10kgs already. Good luck Teena |

| Hi All Went back to Dr Patroney today for a checkup...weight-loss has all but stopped even though im not eating much so she gave me a bit more restriction. I now have 7.3 in a 10ml band. How much does everyone else have roughly? she said i am now above the average fill so hopefully this will kick-start the weightloss again! |

If possible could you email me the pain after surgery details and also the way you were treated? | Hi Nicole and Bec You are more than welcome to join in I post the dates here before each get together. They are booked for the first Wednesday and the third Tuesdays of the month at 6pm. The group consists of people who have or having lap band , gastric sleeve or bypass. I had the sleeve and am very happy with it. | hi all, i just want to thank you all very much for the info you guys gave me about banding. I saw Dr Leong a month ago, and now im booked into the wakefield hospital on the 4th may to be banded. Im very nervous and went through a stage of nearly backing out, but i see how it has helped you to get to the weight you want, and how it can change your life. So hopefully it can help me. | Hi Dave I think what you are doing is great. I have a lot of trouble looking up info on the net, I need to learn a lot more. Anyway I think the more we can help each other with info and support the better for everyone. I have been on here for about 16 months and have found it very helpful and I jump in when I think I can help. I organize a support group in Adelaide and get together twice a month at Cafe Uno which has been a fantastic sucess. I don't want to get caught up in names of groups and people wanting to control everything that happens. We get together for FUN,and information on any problem we have and more join us all the time. So keep us informed the people that check this site often watch but don't join in until they are ready. Thanks again Donna |

| Hi Everyone, Just letting you know I have set up a new community site for Lap Bander's in Australia. I was banded last week, and decided to use my week off from work to put together a site to bring all the different groups together and to thank all the support groups for their advice during my pre-op stage. | Hi Hyacinth The difference to a diabetic is unbelievable. I am type 1 and haven't looked back. I try to help as much as I can to promote the fantastic oppotunity we have to live a better life. I feel sooooo much better, healthier , happier and fitter than I have before. Michael France is Fantastic you are in great hands. The butterflies is the unknown, which we all get when we haven't been there before. After being there this is an amazinbg time......be excited at what the outcome holds. Donna |
