| Hi all... great to be reading about other Adelaidians and the band... I have just completed my 3rd week post op and was a bandit at Flinders. apart from my bowl blockage i am doing great. have not weighed myself but am seeing the loss in my clothes... Keep up the good work all! |

| Hi Everyone, we all had a great night last Wednesday, it was great to see so many there. It was nice having Penny and Sally (dietians) join in as well, shows how much they care about what they do. Penny has recipes for us to try so I will get hold of her soon and pass them on. I will post next get together soon. I have been so busy at work this is the first time I have turned computer on. I saw Dr. Michael France today and have lost just over another 2kg which is great as I thought I stopped loosing. Talk soon everyone Donna (Ley) |

| Katy, I'm also country. I'd honestly go with the closest. If you are being really picky, you can always ask how many surgeries the surgeon has performed (Mildura one). I know Prof Touli has been around for a long while. My surgeon was cheap but he has performed 800. 100 surgeries is the bare minimum. If you have an emergency, 3 hours is a much closer drive than Adelaide. All the best, Cat |

| Hi Rae and welcome to the board. I was banded with Dr Anderson in Nov 08 and found him and his team excellent.I have not regretted one minute of being banded. i have lost 20kgs so far and feeling great. the optifast on the other hand taste awful but i persevered and could only drink the vanilla one with water and ice but it does work as i list 3.8kg in the first wee. good luck with everything and keep us all posted on your weight banding journey. | hi guys how long have you had to wait between first consult and operation?I've got to time mine exactly right as I am on call every fourth weekend.Heavy pushing and pulling of patients involved. Also I am seeing a surgeon in Mildura,vic and can't seem to find any info about him. I also have an appointment with Prof Toulli (sp?) in Adelaide and am thinking about trying both and see who 'feels' best. I live 3hrs from Mildura and 6 from adelaide so Mildura is better placed. what does everyone think? |

| Thanks for posting that Jules! I'm nearly 5 weeks post-op with Mr Leong. So far I am ecstatic, as I've gone down 2, if not 3 top sizes and 1 pant size. Each day I do a little meditation about picturing the new me versus the old me. 44 kilos..wow! I do know that plastic surgeons say to wait 2 years before considering any surgery - to give your body time to regain its elasticity. All the best, and thanks again :) Cat |

| hi colleen , i agree was a great night cafe uno , and big thanks to donna to sorting this night out , its great to catch up with others who are on there way or about to start , and his nice to know so many people suffer the same issues everynow and then , jules well done on your loss so far , amazing results , i too was banded by mr leong i was done on the 8th dec 2008 and have lost 20.1kilos!! i am so excited as it just means so much to fit into nicer clothes and feel body confident kez x |

| Hi everyone, I was banded by Mr Leong on 12th Feb 2008 and to date I have lost 44kgs !!! I havent had a fill since early November and I am still losing weight. I currently have 7mls in a 10ml band. I only have a couple more kilos til im at my desired weight. Just wondering if anyone on here (mainly the people who have been banded for a while), have had any plastic surgery to get rid of excess skin? On another note, for all the new 'bandits' its a life altering journey and one that you will not regret making. You will have your ups and downs, but in the end it is all worth it. |

| Hi all Changed my user ID from (tomcatqh) for those that my know me. It was a great night at Cafe Uno on Wed, thanks everyone for sharing your stories, I get banded on 30 March. | Serina, Forgot to mention i am also taking centrum and Iron tablets as advised by my doctor. It has made me feel heaps better. I am very happy with my progress so far and hope it continues. Cheers Scorpio |

| Hi Serina No not following a book at the moment just advice from a friend. I just plan my meals at the beginning of the week so i buy according to that. I have found the most important part is making sure i eat breakfast. After being on it for a week you will notice that you dont even feel as hungry. I still enjoy other foods but dont have them constantly just as a treat. I have only had 1 fill and that was in early Dec for 2mls. I went back in jan and had lost 6kilos over 5 weeks (inc xmas) and my doc said i was doing good and didnt need any fill. I have another app endo of this month as i will see how i go.
