Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
Hi everyone
i have just come home from hospital, feeling a bit sore and sorry for myself, otherwise all is well. Had my banding done Thursday so it is very early days yet. Found the doctors and the hospital staff all very good. Now it is time to look forward to weight loss and healthy eating. I went into hospital taking 7 tablets a day for my diabetes come out of hospital on none other than pain killers.
Take care everyone
Jane

Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
I know its hard, im only on day 3 post surgery (Dr Leong) and already i am smelling things at home and seeing things when im out!!! And it is hard, so i know its only going to get harder until im 2-3 months when i can start to eat near normal food, and this is a long way off!! But i am determined to get there, i have been sucking on some lollies to fend off cravings but this doesnt always work!!
Bring on the mushies!!

Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
Yes Tassie that is quite correct.

At the end of the day the band is only a tool and we have to change the way we think and the choices we make.

Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
You will be able to eat these things again zee, just not as much, and a lot slower. Although you need to keep in mind that this surgery only works through changing your habits and that relates to food choices as well. We can all go back to eating bad foods and not loose the weight we want to by having this surgery. Need to keep this in mind when deciding to have the sugery as it still takes a lot of will power to not eat the wrong things.

Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
Zee,

When you wake up you will be in recovery and they give you pain killers. Not long after that you go back to your ward and they give you ice chips to suck on.

Re:Adelaide Banding Reply to this message
Tracey, once you are back on normal foods you will still be able to make lovely meals for dinner parties and your family. It is just a matter of portion size and choosing what is a healthier option.
