Find the time to crank up your favorite tunes and dance like know one is watching or lay in the dark and listen to some really laid back music. Music soothes the sole.
I have used this many times when the kids have there witching hour(tea time) Turn up the music!!!
Treat yourself to a massage if you can, that too will relive some tension.
I just have to remember to do these things when its my time. Hurry Up!!!!
You go girl!!!!! |

Hi Lesley,
Yes I am on the December banding list and have been communicating on that thread. I was asking if there was anyone from Adelaide getting banded in Dec. December is filling up fast with ops and it seemed that everyone was interstate that I have read.
Just curious.
This time next week you will be preparing for the big day, I don't think I will be getting much sleep the night before.
Good luck getting through this next week.
Will post a good luck message for all 2nd week December Bandits as well.
Cheers Cathy (cmerjohn) |

Hi Selina
I weight around 84kg and am happy at that.
I am a type one diabetic and having insulin definately dosn't help with weight.I started at 119kg lost some before I started and I think I weight about 113kg b4 surgery.
I thought I wouldn't bother with a tummy tuck as I wasn't to bad with loose skin but I have changed my mind, as my tummy sits on my lap even with tight underwear.
I also had cesarians with 2 children and a large cut on my so tummy could relly use a new look.....
I look like I have two bottoms hahaha
So I am seeing surgeon at the end of month and if I can I will book for April. Life is so busy it is the only time I have or the year after.

Hi Everyone
Thoght I would share....
I went to a family reunion on Saturday and family couldn't beleive I looked so good and healthy.
A new member to our family said I glowed being pregant and when was I due....ah
So I thanked her for thinking I could be pregnant at 50 and went on to show her my b4 photos and say how my tummy has dropped because of excess skin.
My family all found this very amusing and they said that being so liitle up top now that makes my tummy stick out more.
Anyway I had booked with Plastic surgeon end of November as I know I will feel better having it done.

Hi everyone ,
I have been reading this forum for about 16 months now.It took me a long time to make up my mind about having banding done. While i was trying to make up my mind i have been reading everyones stories.I finally decided to go ahead with the surgery and its booked for the 8th of dec so not long now.Like Nicole i am very nervous but also excited, i have to go on the optifast diet for 2 weeks before surgery so will be on liquid's for a long time.I have read about so many good results from the banding so I am looking forward to getting started and finally loosing this weight. I would like to come to the get togethers in the near furture but with xmas soon upon us it will more than likely be after xmas now.
Anyway all the best Nicole.

Hi Donna
I live in Kilburn so it is not that far from Ingle Farm. I would love to catch up with other pepole going through this. I do have my dad who has had the surgery but most of my family and friends don't really understand what I am currently going through and also what I will continue to go through with this process. Most of them just say why can't you just eat healthy which I do most of the time but it's just not that easy.
Anyway enough rambling, I think it is the nerves...lol

Hi Donna
I am really starting to freak out now, I have the cupboard stocked with stuff I can drink!! as I am going to be house bound for a week or so and I live alone (just me and my 4 year old daughter) I also have my bag half packed. I am so nervous but also really looking forward to a new start in life.
Thank you to every one for your encouraging words, these forums are really helping with my nerves.

Hi Nicole,
Don't be scared.... It's not that bad. I was the biggest chicken before I hsd my surgery as it was the first major operation that I had. I was so glad to wake up after. I had a bit of pain at the port sight but was home after 2 nights. I had some pain killers but I was not too bad after a few days, I had two weeks off work but managed quiet well on the liquids. It just takes a bit of getting used to but 3 months will you can eat noraml foods goes by quickly.
It has been 16 months since I had my band done. I have lost about 38kg so far.
Follow what the dietians tell you and should be fine. Good Luck
