I went out today and brought my first box of optifast. I am going to start a week early and have the drink for breaky and lunch and have salad for dinner. I officially start next tues on opti. I just need to stop all this over eating I have been doing since I found out my op date a week and a bit ago. So will start tomorrow morning. |

| Jason Chan is cheaper MZ. The last time I saw him it cost me $140. It may have gone up by $5, because Jason Winnett was previously $170 & went up by $5. Jason Chan is really good as well. |

| How much does it cost to have a fill with Jason? I never even thought to ask that question and do you get anything back from Medicare or private health insurance? |

hey everyone, i saw jason today it was ment to be a check up as i got my first fill 2 weeks ago but when i saw him today he disided to do another fill which caught me off guard finacially. i told him not to worry as i couldnt afford it today but he did it anyway and just charged me the $85 as he would have for a check up.
now i have 4.8ml in my band and i see him again on the 11th of december for another fill before xmas.
iv lost 12 kg date from sept 30th.
not really feeling to much of a ristriction at the moment but i am deffently eating smaller meals.
im a bit upset that i havent lost as much as i would hope so but i have not exercised as yet so in that regard i am greatful i have lost 12kg without trying.
my best mate muzi and me got the operation 2 weeks apart for one another, so jason just books us in at the same time. Muzi had his first fill today but he already says feels restriction.
was anyone seeing jason today around 4:30? |

Hi Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sally and I had my first appointment with Jason last Thurs and he told me that he could get me in before Xmas if I wanted to. Otherwise I would have to wait till late Jan. I decided that I have had 30 good very filling Xmas lunches and to just go for it. So I am booked in for 22nd Dec (came as a bit of a shock how quick). If I waited i would have been another 5kg heavier.
Since last week when I found out my op date, I have been eating like it is my last supper. I have probably put on weight, have not been game enough to get on the scales and check.
I have my birthday party on Saturday night, and that will be it. I think I will start on opti a week earlier as if I keep going the way have been over the last week I will put on heaps of weight.
I found Jason quite easy to talk to and look forward to my journey with him. From what I have read everyone thinks he is great.
I am excited but also hoping that I have a good experience with the band and don't have problems like slippage, ect.
I am finding this forum is good place to hear other people stories and great motivation and think that I will be around here for a long time to help me on my journey to the new thinner, sexier me!! |

Hi nessa what time did you go in on Monday?
I was also there.
The flipped port thing has my curiosity.
What causes it? Or is it just something that happens unexplainably?

I didn't Answer the question.
I have done minimal exercise. With work and stuff I have found it difficult to get to the gym. But where I can I try to be more active.
If I exercised I know I would have lost alot more in this period.
I do need to get the blood pumping and the heart rate up more.
Sexercise is always advisable, I want to start cycling, soccer and a bit of hoops to be more active.

Hi Jo,
the journey to drop the weight is fantastic with every kg I have lost I smile that much more.
This is just the begining of some fantastic new things I want to achieve.
Weight loss has definately increased my confidence and self satisfaction.
I never used to like being out and about. Now I can be seen wondering all over Melbourne.

Hi D,
Congrats on losing 45kg..that is just awesome. You must feel fantastic! It sounds like we might have similar stats. I have about 65kg to lose all up. I am 125kg but i am not tall (163cm) so my bmi is quite high (47). I like your name: Dare2bthin because thats how i feel, like i'm finally ready to brave the land of slender, lol.
Very practical to wait till after chrissy for another fill. It will probably give your body time to stabilise anyway and then you can give it another burst.
So did you excercise to help get the 45kg off? If so, how often etc?

Hi Jo,
I have lost 45kgs and only a few weeks short of doing my full year.
I am about 25kgs short of my goal weight.
I know these last 25kgs are going to be the hardest so I know it isn't going to be as easy to drop the weight.
I have decided not to get a fill until February, as the next 3 months are hectic with Xmas, New Years, and family festive parties.
Jo, if you have any questions just ask away. The more you ask the more you learn, and we are all more than happy to answer.

Thanks guys,
its great to know he is so highly thought of. Dare2, how much have you lost to date?
I must say, i have read a lot of posts on here and i am a bit scared by the not so positive experiences that some have had re: infections and band slippages etc. I guess it is good to have an overall picture of the good and the bad but it is a bit worrying none the less. I have noticed though, that most still say they love their band even with the complications they have had.

i was banned on 30-09-09 and since i have lost 12 kg :) i see jaason on the 27th to see how im going and when i need my next fill.. so far i have 3 ml in :) |

Jo, you do not have to worry about a single thing.
Jason is a fantastic surgeon, and I wouldn't want to be in any other person's hands to perform the procedure.
Jason is one fantastic guy. Your going to be amazed at how good it is going to feel to know that there is this fantastic silicon thing inside of you which is going to help you achieve some fantastic results.
I have to say it has been almost a year (2 weeks away) since I got my band done by Jason and I enjoy visiting him. He is a breath of fresh air and gives some great advice too.
While in the waiting room the other day, I was mesmerized by some of the people in the waiting room. Figuring out who was a bandit, who wasn't a bandit, and who was going to be a potential bandit. Also those who I believe had been through lap banding looked amazing.

No need to worry although I know easier said than done. Jason did my band on the 5/11 and he was so incredibly lovely. I have had minimal pain only needed Panadol for two days and today am almost pain free. It is a big step but so rewarding
