| i reckon mushies could eat those I&J cook in the bag things... they're not too bad. but yes, i reckon even unfavourite foods would taste like bliss at this stage! |

| oh man, that sounds like gourmet bliss to me! i can't wait! on saturday my mum is making these things where you mix boiled white fish, mash potato and parsley. then you make them into a pattie and add some breadcrumbs and grill. i used to eat them when i was a kid. |

hey greebs,
have started on lumpy mushies, if that makes sense- more like soft solids. really tender stew, cut up small, and chewed to bits.
steamed vegies, scrambled egg. yesterday i had some noodles- chewed chewed chewed!!!!
are you still on strictly mushies?
i know, it gets scary when you think about what your gonna have! |

lqrichmondtigers, no cap and gown for me just yet, still a long way to go on this darn voyage. Only had two meals today, not all that hungry, for breakfast had some quick oats and dinner I had mashed potato with some pureed grilled trout....a very nice change compared to good old liquids!
I must admit I kinda freaked out when the dietitian said each meal must only be half a cup and only 3 meals a day. I thought to myself hell, half a cup is nothing but when you measure it out and put it on a plate and then cant get through it all you realise that half a cup is alot...but you guys know that already. |

| I am three weeks post op and still on mushies. Can't say that I am hungry though. I assume that I have no fill as say the doctor today first since op and he has made an appointment for a couple of weeks to get a fill. I think that will be a bit scary. Not getting the fill but not knowing how it will feel after. |

| Hey greebsgirl76... that is very interesting that you say you have no restriction. I probably should have asked the surgeon this... but when they put the band in, do they leave it wide open? |

Believe it or not chilli con carne blended and then with some sour cream on top is mighty fine! Had it last night. Just made it as I would normally and then threw it in the 'whizzer' for a couple of seconds.
Is everyone sticking to the half cup suggestion and taking 20 minutes to chew? I am finding 20 mins a long time to eat a small portion of food AND it is cold by the time you are finished. |

Stelie
Is the lump actually protruding without feeling for it or touching it?
The port sometimes protrudes after a large amount of weight loss but not usually in the first few months of banding. The port "lump" usually feels like the shape of a milk bottle cap. If it is the port and the "lump" isn't infected I wouldn't worry about it too much at this stage but if it continues to protrude after further weight loss it can be repositioned and it's a simple operation, nowhere near as severe as banding.
