Hi claymoremine1999
I am also from Western Aust. I was banded in Nov '05 and my out of pocket expenses were $2018. My husband was banded in April '06 and the out of pocket expenses for him $1215. We had different surgeons at the same hospital. The surgeons we had conduct their information nights together. |

Claymoremine,
The cost of the surgery will vary greatly depending on what State you live in and even which surgeon you see.
Most of the costs are covered by Health Insurance, however you still need to be prepared to be looking at around $3000 out of pocket, again that will vary from state to state and surgeon to surgeon.
Yes you will need to wait 12 months on your health insurance if you are new to it, some insurance comapnies are even talking about making the wait 24 months.
I hope this information has been a little helpful.
