| Hi cat I'm on Jasons waiting list and have been since June it's great to here someone is being banded by him as the message boards have gone very quiet in reguards to how often he operates. How long have you been on his list?(If u are going public.)All the best for tuesday hope everything goes well for you. | Hi there I am having op with Dr Winnett on Tuesday of next week.... Doesnt matter if you see dietician or gastroentorologist first I think. I actually saw the dietician just after I saw Dr Winnett and then saw the gastroentorologist after that. |

| hello,i went for my first appt to see jason winnett last friday i have to see a gastroenterologist and a dietician and then go back to see him. my question is...does it matter whether i see the gastroenterologist or dietician first?my appt sheet had the number one written next to g.enterologist and number two written next to the dietician,im two embarrassed to ring winnetts rooms to ask.... thanks.. also what will the gastroenterologist do at this appt?thanks |

| I was banded 12 months ago by Jason Winnett and I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is so supportive and cares so much about me and the results I am getting. Highly recommended! |

| Hi Kylie thanks for the info, i found the other thread. Havn't rung up yet for 2 reasons, 1 the whole easter long weekend thing, and 2 im hoping to get a list of doctors closer to me, i'm in Portland, so if i have to go to Melb than a bit of extra time to save up for travel and probably a motel at least over night, because i'll need the extra time to find where i have to go. I get lost walking round the block in the city *sigh*. So when i go to my doc for the referal i'm going to see if he can provide me with a list of potential docs. dea |

| Hi Dea, I was originally on Dr Nottle's waiting list. 1st appoinment to see him was 2 months from time I called. I then found a thread re: Dr Winnett. I rang and he could see me 20.04.07 ; 4 weeks from initial phone call. So I've now swapped and will see Dr Winnett. I've read threads that he is very nice. I see my GP on 11.04.07 to get referral. Have you called to make appointment with Dr Winnett ? If not, call asap as you may have a little wait to get in to see him (longer with some other surgeons). Good luck on your journey ; we sound like we are at the same stage. I'm going to see what the public wait list is like with Dr Winnett. It is hard with a tight budget hey. | Spending a lot of time on the phone my daughter in law phoned every hospital in melbourne and country victoria. Responses varied from "what is lapbanding?" to 8 years wait. It is a trial an error and a test in patience. Obviously it would be better to have private health but for some people it just cant happen when the family is on a tight budget so going public is the next best thing and keeping the fingers crossed that there are no follow up probs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thanks Tara. I go in on thursday to get my referral, asked my doc last week about lapbanding and he was so supportive said yep you def qualify ( currently 5'5 abd 149kgs ) . Have to do research regarding public ops and various waiting lists, obviously i want to get done asap so i can start living. |

| Thanks for the info Tara, i'm just starting out on this journey, go to the doc on monday for a referal ( had to make sure i wasn't preg first ). I'm so ready for this, the only stumbling block for me will be $. Its a shame the message boards dont have a search function, or not one that i can find anyway.. | There were a few postings about him sev weeks ago, but they seem to have gone walkabout. someone posted that she had been banded by him and that he was very nice. My daughter in law is on nottle's waiting list. Rang to ask if her wait would be shorter if she transferred over to Winette's but the receptionist said no as she had already been on nottle's for about 4 months. they are telling people 12 months on the public list for winette but someone posted they were done by him publicly after about 4 months i think it was. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
