Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
Hey thats sounds like a good idea too.
Saves cooking stuff all the time. I'm so lazy.
Although today i did make a tuna pasta bake. It was yum, but took ages, cos i had to boil the pasta to a mush. Worth the wait tho. I kinda think making food just for me is a waste too, cos i eat so little of it, but ive been freezing stuff, hope it tastes of 2nd time round!!

Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
another thing I did which my dietician suggested was, get those frozen lean cuisine meals, and moosh them up with a hand blender, she recommended to have half at each meal. My favourite was the honey mustard chicken one, I added heaps of extra honey and mustard and blended it up, had no problems with the rice or chicken.

Thanks Killa,
They are great ideas. Sound yummy too.

I actually just steamed some mini dim sims, to mush and they went down well.

I think i'll give the macaronni cheese a whirl tonight!!

Thanks again!!!

Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
Some mush suggestions-

A hand blender will really be useful during this stage, here's some things I had on mushies.

-Baked beans, egg, weiner, cheese, tomato sauce, all mixed together with a hand blender and microwaved ... yummo!
- Potato bake, mushed up.
- cheesy cauliflour, mushed up.
- Easy Mac (macoroni&cheese), mixed with hand blender.
- Scrambled eggs.
- Pasta salad, mixed with hand blender.
- Seafood salad, mixed with hand blender.
- Cream cheese triangles (grosjean).
- Tuna mornay (Mel's recipe).

Be creative, just use a hand blender and add sauce to things.

Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
Hi All
A question to anyone that can help.... Today was my first day for 'mushies' and I blended roasted vegetables with chicken broth to make a thick vegi soup. Should I have felt any restriction at all??? It all went down fine and I had a small bowl (i guess alot compared to the past 3 weeks)...

Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some more ideas of foods to eat in the mushy stage. If anyone has any ideas, please post them even if they seem obvious.
I'm not very good with ideas. lol
So far, ive been having :
custard
scrambled eggs (soft)
lots of pureed stews
mashes caulifower, pumpkin, potato
puree fruit
I also had some very soggy sausage rolls, with no problem, but probablly shouldn't have.

So i'm looking for some other good ideas.

Are soggy pasta and rice okay??

hi beachsideoz
I to had the same problem put on 1.8kg. ASpparently this is normal. your body is rehydrating itself and getting use to food. Dietician told me to not worry about it, this is completely normal.

Re:Mushies Stage Reply to this message
Hi Eliza
This stage isn't about weightloss its about healing and a good thing too because people often put on weight in this stage. Don't panic about it at this point, just get thru your mushies making them thicker over time and then when you get to it the transition to real food will be much easier. And THEN the REAL weightloss will start I am sure!
