| Finally the scales are moving a bit. Not much though... 88.8kgs this morning, which means 16.2kg loss total since mid May. I have very little restriction and can eat anything. One more week before next fill (3rd). I just hope I will have better restriction then. See that you are all doing well, some losing faster than others, but that is ok, as long as it is going the right way. |

| Love my band - big drop this week after some tooing and froing - 1.5 kg's gone this week - I think exercise is really helping and drinking bucket loads of water. Hope everyone is well. Woo Hoo Arn :) |

| busso_gekko You're doing great! Don't ever avoid us when you're not having losses - that's what we're here for! Just about all of us have had week(s)when we've not lost -mine lasted 4 weeks without losing anything - then suddenly I lost 2 kg in 4 days. I read on this site about increasing the exerscise & cutting out carbs to give myself a kick-start & it worked. The people here are just like you and have some great info & experience - use it! | Hi Barge Thanks for letting me know... I went today for another attempt at a fill but no luck. The little b u g g a has flipped.So I'm pleased to hear that it's not a big deal. The good news is that they are able to do the surgery tomorrow and will add 1/2 a mil to snug-up my band. The Dr said he wants to do it straight away so I keep losing & don't get disheartened, which was lovely to hear. I'll let you know how I go. | Hi all Sorry i haven't been here in a while.For some reason i feel guilty coming here when my numbers aren't going down.I know it sounds silly and that we are here for each other no matter what the scales are saying.But this week i have good news, i lost 3.3kg this week,it has been out of pure determination.I have to say though it is not because of the band, i have got 5mls in but have no restiction what so ever. It's like it's not even in there, i hope after a few more fills things will change.NARELLE |

| Hi All, Went to the dr for the survey thingy and had a talk to the nurse who told me to beg at the counter for a app sooner than by original and got in on Thur!! Bring on the fill baby!! (although being my first one is freaking me out a bit!) So hopefully those scales will start moving again soon! Kate...good luck hope they can find the port without having to go back under "the knife" Mel...300g is 300g take whatever you can get I say!! :) Well done 19.6kg!!...soon to hit to 20s!! | Sounds like you have too much in your band, i was throwing up on wednesday and had 2ml taken out friday morning, it was instant relief as it was painful when i drank liquids after all that throwing up. 2ml sounds like a lot for one fill, i was only having .03ml x 5 visits, take care, louise | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bekhol I would be calling the doctor if I were you. You shouldnt be throwing up and should be able to eat, you probably have too much fill. And dont think that you are a whinger, these doctors get paid good money to take care of us. Give the doc a call and tell them whats going on, its important you take care of yourself. Throwing up can cause a slip so its better to be safe than sorry. Goodluck and let us know what happens. Mel |

| Cow-Tippin-Port-Flippin-K ate The pain and recovery was absolutely nothing at all. I haven't taken a single pain killer. The only way I would know I've had anything done was the big sticking plaster on my belly. The first day if you bent over to do your shoes and socks and bent your stomach right across the cut site (that's those rippling stomach muscles again)you knew something was different, but my dog can now jump on my belly with no reaction from me. I got 1.5ml of fill which hasn't made a jot of difference. Two lamb chops and veges for dinner with no problem getting that down at all. I think I've got another surgeon's fill-up in two weeks so bring on some more. Barge (formerly known as flipper) |

| Hi Bekhol, wish I could help but i'm pretty new to the fill thing. I have heard some people have only a narrow margin between not enough and too much. Personally I would say ring the doctor mostly because you want the band to help you feel fuller not actually make you sick. Also you want to be getting some nutrition and no food is a bit extreme. I've only had one fill and so I may have to face all of this down the track... I really hope not. Good luck. | Help!!!! I have a few questions I am not sure about! To cut a long story short I had 3ml in my band and felt no restriction. So I rang and made appointment and doc added 2ml which was last Wednesday. Ever since then I have not been able to eat anything without throwing up. A couple of times I have managed to keep down a bit of tin spaghetti but thats it everything else just seriously hurts and then I throw up. I am not sure if my band is too full. Is it ok to be throwing up all the time or could my band slip??? I am worried about ringing the docs because I don't want to sound like i am a whinger. Any advice would be fantastic. | Kate, The de-flip was no problemo at all - it was just day surgery, anesthetic, cut open the same scarline as they created the first time, and hopefully they did better stitching and stapling this time. I was in recovery and out of hospital within 3-4 hours. Mine had come undone at one end so was now facing upwards. I would prefer to think of the situation as my buff stomach muscles fairly rippling their way out of the staples.....but I might be deluding myself! Barge the now UnFlipped Flipper |

| Hi Barge / Flipper Looks like I may have the same problem. Went for my 3rd fill yesterday & it couldn't be done. After several attempts in the rooms, we went to the hospital to do it under x-ray but the port kept moving & flipping. I will have to make the journey to Orange again next week & he will try it with ultra-sound. If that's not successful I'll be doing the "hi ho hi ho" chant with you....*sigh* So, very keen to hear of your surgery! On the upside, my husband had his 1st fill & was in & out in about 30 seconds! He's got no interest in food what so ever & is already down 13 kg. Well done everyone - progress is being made! Kate |

| Thanks Bella, I feel on top of the world right now...its like NOTHING can stop me! It feels like I am living again. One thing I am really learning about this experience is the fact that I still eat fast when I'm not thinking about what I am eating. I say my band gets "angry" when I do this and I suffer the consequences (pain, discomfort) from eating too fast. The band is making me more aware now of what I have to do but its hard to change our old habits and you know what...I think its the dsame for all of us! Good luck with it Bella :) |

| Hi All, Thanks to everyone for the support, I have to go to see the nurse on mon about a study they are doing so I shall speak to them then about getting the fill. Eating slow is one problem I have, its like you are rushing around all day and eating is just one more thing that has to be done....have to remind myself to slow it down!! Am also having a hard time with the no drinking with meals thing! First thing I used to do is get my meal along with a drink...have to really stop and think now. Cozzie thats great about the walking! Sure that will get the scales moving fast...not to mention how fantastic you must be feeling!! :) |
