| I agree Arn it is better if we all stick together. Happy with your other suggestion also.(weigh in group in Aug). Glad to hear everyone is doing so well been thinking of you all. Had a few anxious moments of myself this week. Also as the weight comes of on the preop diet had the- very fleeting- thought I can do this look how the weight is coming off now. But slapped myself and remembered it is not sustainable there is no way I could eat like this all the time and as soon as I started eating normally the weight would pile back on! |

| Hi Everyone, It is so great to hear from all the bandits that are already done - it is actually comforting to hear your stories. Kate - I think we should all stay on the list as we are a group and all important. How about we split the group - and if people feel comfortable we can put our start weights and maybe do a weekly weigh in or something like that from August onwards once we are all done. | Hi everyone, OMG i am finally a bandit and dont i love it,to all of you that are about to be banded DONT WORRY ITS NOT BAD.I had a little pain when i first woke, nothing unbearable and you get medication for it anyway, like Helen (Who i met with hubby Don at the hospital, a lovely couple, Hi guys) i still have some shoulder tip pain and back of shoulder pain, but when i have a big burp this subsides, I am feeling great and have lost 6.6kgs already. What a life saver this surgery is and the at Hobart private are just the best.My friend also had the surgery on the same day and is even better than me,I can drink without problem and i am not finding this stage difficult at all.So good luck to all that are being banded this week.I will be thinking of you and wishing you a swift recovery,keep us posted on your progress. | 1 week banded & feeling pretty darn good really! I went shopiing this morning & bought all kinds of mushy stuff - my Optiyuck days are over! (Thanks whoever coined Optiyuck) Went for a bit of a walk yesterday & got a bit light headed & nausious, but I'm fine now. I've been thinking about Lizzy all day - hope all is well with Lizzy & everyone else whose been banded this week. Kate |

Trying very hard to imagine a thin taut version of me lol I will try and be a bit more positive I think its just hitting me hard now because i have been acting like everything is just fine even though im not!! creature_2484 sooo happy your out and feeling good! | Hello All! I am being banded on the 22nd July at Greenslopes hospital in Brisbane with Dr Copp. I am on day 2 on my pre op diet and haven't broken yet. but don't worry, there is still time! haha I have seen the list of people being banded in July, but can't see any queenslanders on that list. is there anyone else out there? |

| Hi Everyone, Just wanted to check in after having my op on Monday! I cant believe its actually in me ARGGGH Everything went well, Cabrini hospital is a dream- very well oiled machine! I was awake before I knew it with only muscle pain! While im not going to say there has been no pain- for me nausea and the gas in my tummy have been the worse! Its now day 4 and I am able to sleep on my sides and move without too much pain- still trying to bring up all the painful gas but it feels like its finally all coming out. Planning to take a wander around the shops later on! Will keep you updated! Cheers Creature |

| Hi soontobebandedjuly09 Dont worry about the hernia repairs - I didnt know I even had a hernia until I got the bill from the doctor and saw that I had 2 hernias repaired during the operation. I had very little pain and a quick recovery! Each person is slightly different but I can honestly say that if I had to go through the op again my anxiety levels would be only 1% of the levels I felt prior to having it done! Try to relax and dont focus on the job of the doctor - they fix hernias all the time when they perform this op and is almost par for the course - focus on yourself and the things that you can control. When the nurse at the hospital asked me about stairs at our place I told her that we had stairs but I was working on the assumption that I was going to be just fine and that I would manage them - she said they have always found that the people with the positive approach experience less pain and make a quicker recovery! Remain positive, dont think about what the medical team will be doing, rather picture what you are going to be doing this time next year when you are thin, taut and terrific!!! Good luck! Deb H |

| Sorry you are having a rough night. I do know how you are feeling. I'm just so glad that I am working tonight, so that only leaves me with Thursday night to try and sleep, before my 9am admission, on Friday.
