Ha Ha Lizzy - Nana Nap - I love it and I love them. I plan on having a few of them in the following weeks. I don't think you are a weakling, their are no prizes for pushing yourself too hard. Rest when you need to and look after you.
Sleep well

Hi all - I had the bars and shakes. They seemed to fill me up more than the shakes. Not sure if they were allowed but too late as I am already banded!
I am day 6 and am still a bit sore - sorta like I have been punched in the guts a bit! I walked to the letter box today and had to have a 2 hour nana nap. Anyone else still sore or am I the only weakling of the bunch? Lizzy |

Hi All,
I just decided that watching Master Chef on the first day of Opti was a really bad idea - that chocolate mousse cake looked absolutely fantastic.
I had the chicken soup tonight with the tasty allowed vegies - 1 day down, 13 to go.......
Take Care everyone

hi everyone, i was banded one week ago today and am finding it very frustrating that the weight is not coming off.
ive only lost 1 kilo in a week despite not "eating" much at all. i keep telling myself that 1 lost is better than 1 gained but im still getting annoyed. im hoping things will speed up when i actually can eat and have fill in.
has anyone else found that things started off very slowly? also this constipation is driving me insane! sorry for saying but i havent been since last thursday! nearly a week! although im not all that uncomfortable its a bit worrying.
theres only so much coloxyl and senna i can tolerate! is it possible that this could have something to do with the slow weight loss? im thinking it might. well thats my winge, Lia :) |

Hi Everyone
On day 3 of opti and so far havent really felt hungry today yay! I made a stir fry with the allowed veg and had that at lunch and left the optibar till 330pm cause thats when I really get the munches. I am feeling good no headaches as yet so thats a bonus. I have had a few small things that I should have but nothing major just some dried apricots.
I have had alot of wind particulary at night is this normal when on the opti? Maybe its all the veg I been eating lol
Good Luck to those banded recently and those on for tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow Nel. We will be thinking about you with everything crossed.
Glad you feel that you have made the right decision. It is a huge decision but I don't think any of us would have arrived at it lightly. I am amazed when you start to talk about it how many people know someone that has had it done and it has been successful.
Cheers
Arn

Hi everyone, hope all the newly banded are doing well and healing as quick as possible with as little pain and discomfort. Everyone is so eloquent with words I seem at a loss. But all my thoughts have been with you.
Any way just did my shopping at the chemist and supermarket and am ready to start this life changing journey tomorrow. It looks like a mid afternoon op so by this time tommorrow I should be in or out of recovery.
Im so excited and am quite content that I am doing the right thing. So I better pack my bags as I have a 6 hour trip early in the morning. I'll keep you posted when I get back
To those that were banded today a speedy recovery and to all those that are yet to come, you won't believe how quick your day comes around.

Hi Di, Did you get my last e-mail. I think we may be going if we want to get together b4 we are banded. I now have a doozy of a cold and really do not want to give it to you, I hope it goes away by the 30th. Good luck for the 17th(on Opti) I will be thinking of you. I've heard if you drink it really cold it improves the taste.

| Narelle..I am on day 7 of OPTI and I promise it does get easier. When I first started the shakes I gagged. So i was heating them and additing a few drops of Vanilla Essence. I now have them icy cold with a straw and am not struggling with them at all. I also tried the bars today and they are great because its something solid. I think day 3 & 4 were the hardest and after that I have found its gets easier everyday. My surgery is one day before yours. Goodluck and just keep counting down the days to go. At lease after the Op we can vary the flavours of the runny things we eat. |

Narelle
I filled up on salads and home made vege soups. I mushed up the soups with a blender so they were like a thick stew or gravey. I know I ate a lot more than 2 cups of veg each day, and my surgon was really pleased with my liver. Said I'd done a great job. Until Opti I was a coffee fiend but cut it out & drank A LOT of green tea with lemon.
Why not ask your Dr & dietition for some help too?
Hope it helps... now i feel bad for saying I feel great! Just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Today is day 2 of Optifast and i am starving, my stomach growled so loud you could hear it from the other side of the room lol. I hope this gets easier. My concern is that i don't alway want to feel this hungry, is it like this during the early stages. One of my problems is i don't drink enough water has any one got any suggestions for this?.The thing that is keeping me focused is i lost 1.5kg in just one day.
Last night was just a shocker for me i just could'nt sleep besides the hunger pains i could'nt stop dreaming about the surgery good thought and bad thoughts.I know the days are ticking down but it can't come soon enough.
Congrats to all though bandits who are well on their way and good luck to all the future bandits. NARELLE |

| Hi Arn - if you are using blogger you go to the ticker website make your ticker and then at the end copy the HTML script provided. Then go to your blog in the edit page click on add gadget. Choose add HTML or third party script. Paste your HTML into the box provided then save. To change the ticker you need to go to the ticker website put in your pin number (set up when you make the ticker) update your weight details or whatever, copy the HTML script again and go back to your blog click edit on your ticker and paste in the new script. |

| Hi guys n gals. well here I am, day 5 post op, and lost 2 kgs. I don't know what I was expecting, but its easier than I thought. Clothes are looser, and for the 1st time, I actually felt hunger pains. Ususally I just eat, whenever, but last night, hubby and I went shopping, and it was later than usual(for me to eat), and I had the most horrid belly pains. A glass of V8, whilst I cooked his dinner, then I put the extra vegies in the blender, with some beef stock, til it was liquid. MMMM soup never tasted soooo good, lol, I was famished. Good luck to the future bandits. If I can do it, so can you.cheers, Robin |

(I meant to post this in here but put it in General Chat)
Hi all. Hang in there all those on liquids or Optifast - those stages will pass quicker than you imagine. Day 8 post-op and I got the green light for mushies today, which was unexpected. I will have salmon and mash for dinner tonight (this has been the meal I have been craving most pre- and post-op). Despite my enthusiasm today for getting off liquids, I would prefer to have had some appetite suppression. Perhaps like others, I sometimes irrationally feel I will somehow be immune to the effects of this lapband and not lose any more weight and this has been heightened by my appetite returning full strength a couple of days after the operation. I guess that's a natural feeling for anyone who is a veteran of many failed diet and exercise regimes in the past. Does anyone else feel the same? |
