| Hi Qui, Thanks that gives me hope. The people around me that know i have had the band always ask "how much have you lost now" i feel that they wonder why i have bothered. i tend to eat fast( i have all my life, eat while its hot)so slowing down is a real challenge |

| HI Noose, Are you feeling any restriction at all? It did take me 4 fills to get real restriction, and today I have had my 5th so hoping the weight loss will "speed up" a bit. I was very disheartened at the start as I was not doing that well, but I am feeling better about it now. I have lost exactly 10kgs since banding, the rest was prior to banding on Optifast, so I am not a fast loser either. Have a good chat with the doctor when you go for your fill on the 25th and tell him/her how you feel. |

| Thanks Arn, Yes I did feel good at the wedding, and at least looking at the photos I could see a big difference to what I was like. You are doing very well with your weight loss, and like you said, the band is a great tool. I had my 5th fill today, only 0.2, bringing total to 7.5mls in a 13mls band. | barge, I know exactly how you are feeling. I also had the band so dieting would'nt always seem to be ruling my life. I know it was'nt supposed to be a quick fix but it is so easy to loose hope when you have no restriction and the scales are moving very slowly. I am loosing some weight but it is out of pure determination and will power (DIETING) not the band. I have found no change except for vomitting when food get stuck which is totally painful.I only have 3mls left until my reaches it;s limit, i'm worried about what happens if i reach 10ml (full) and i still don't have and restriction. | Creature, How have you managed to lose all that weight without any restriction? I also haven't had any restriction since surgery and haven't lost one single kilogram. I'm probably stubborn but I'm refusing to go on a diet to lose the weight when the band is meant to be helping me do this by reducing my intake. If I was losing weight, the doctors would probably think that the band was all working fine, when it isn't working at all. I had my fourth fill today and have only 2mls to go before i reach the limit. And yet no restriction. Go figure. There's a possibility that something else is wrong with my band (other than the initial flipped port after 1 month) so I might be following you back into surgery if things don't improve. cheers Barge |

| Narelle, I have bumped "the rules of the road", I am going to read it myself again, but maybe you can see if there is anything you are doing that you can change. Other than that, I can say that I really did not have restriction until 4th fill, so you might need a fill. Can you bring forward your appointment? | Hello Everyone I'm back from holiday and feel great. Expected a gain, but the scales were kind to me, and the 'gain' was no more then what the scales can fluctuate from day to day anyway, so I am very pleased. It proves to me that the band works well and in spite of me eating what I felt like having, including indulging in an icecream every day of my holiday, the band provides a "brake" to the food intake. I am very happy to have come back with a plus/minus nothing (the scales showed 0.5kg +, but I feel bloated this morning, so I think a lot of that is fluid, so not going to count it). Now of course I want to get back to start losing again, so no more drinking with my meals, no more wine or sweets. Icecream is my real weakness, and it is banned from the house. The wedding was so nice, and I felt that I looked nice too. For the ones that are on facebook (July Bandits) you can see photos from the wedding there. I have not read all the posts since I have been away, but will get stuck into that over the weekend. Have a great one, I intend to, not going to work until Wednesday. rgds/Laila (Qui) |

| Well it was probably the best day to go for a fill seeing as my lunch got stuck so they took all the fluid out and i flushed it down with water and then put it back and a bit more.....and now I have restriction! Yay! The doc was very happy with my progress so far, and I have told him that we plan to start trying for a baby in the next couple of months! Its all very exciting! Mel |
