| arn66au, today I was hungry too for the first time. I actually did not feel 100%, and when I look in the mirror I don't look well, very dark under the eyes. My voice is also sounding different, like I have no energy (which I don't). I bought some juice when I was out and had that, and when I got home I had some apple juice half and half with water. My stomach does not "like" apple juice, I think I get indegestion from it, so that is why I watered it down. To have something different to Optifast I made custard, 1 egg and 1 cup skim milk with a dash of vanilla and about a teaspoon of splenda, mixed together and strained into a bowl, then cooked over hot water until it started thickening. It was ok, but still milky like the Optifast, so I think tomorrow I will make some pumpkin soup instead. I am wanting something that is not sweet now. And this is coming from me who normally has a really bad "sweet tooth". I have had a bit of stomach pains today, which is a bit worrying. Nothing major, but still, don't know why that is. I will probably have to take it more easy, went out today, and probably that was not a good idea. |

| Narelle, that is amazing. I am going fine - was so glugged up today that it has been my mission to get rid of it - so it has been a day of prune juice and benefiber in everything....some success this arvo but not nice!!!! (lovely thing to talk about). My stomach is making the worst sounds and gurgling madly, I am hungry. | Robbyn, I was banded on 13th july and am now finding that I'm hungrier. I could possibly eat more but I dont. I find that if I eat slowly and stop when I'm supposed to in half an hour I'm not physically hungry. Mentally is a different story. I think we will be fine after the first fill. Mine is on 13th August. Maybe you should give your surgeon a call and ask if you can get in for a fill earlier. Has the weight loss slowed or stopped for you? Mel |

I feel the same.I am always starving.I can eat what ever i want.I haven't had any fills yet,i also fill that i have'nt even got a band.I'm still getting wind pain and i burp alot.I'm worried i've stretch my pouch but i've had to more through the food phases quicker than i was supposed to due to intense hunger pains,so intense i could'nt sleep.I'm looking forward to the fill i hope that makes a difference.NARELLE |

| Hi i was banded on the 10th july, havent been on for a while but always see what everyone is up too. Anyway just wondering since i am on solid foods now I seem to be back to my old appetite and having trouble controlling it. I am not due for fill until 27th of august. I feel like i dont even have a band now except for some occasional reflux, I can eat virtually everything, although i havent dared with bread, does anyone else banded around the same time feel the same. I havent vomited or anything i still have a little pain at the port site. Can anyone let me know if they are at the same point what they are up to Thanks Robbyn |

| Day 14 for me. =) At least I can have something that resembles food now lol Mind you, I really like having my up and go for breaky, soo =) Biggest problem I have had is the itch on the wounds, and yeah I know they are healing , lol but i have had to sit on my hands. |

| Hi Qui - I have had that feeling like something is stuck in your throat, I thought that it might be from the breathing tube, it is just starting to go away now, but a still there a little. I ended up taking painkillers last night as I overdid it yesterday, I agree with you glad I have 2 weeks off work - I thought I would be up and at it alot quicker than this. Think I had forgotten that I am 10 + years older than when I last had surgery and 30 + kilos heavier...... Got to go to a meeting at my eldest daughters school this afternoon, it will be intersting to see how I feel after 2 hrs sitting in the hall. Have a good day Arn :) |

| Day 6 today, and feeling ok. I have back pain across middle of back this morning (tired sort of feeling, same as I got when sitting up too long the first few days). I did not take any pain killers last night when going to bed, and slept allright. The incisions are good, no pain there, I still feel tenderness in the port area. How long will that take to go away? I sleep on my tummy, but have to move slowly when I roll over to my side or back. I also feel as if I have something stuck in my throat, hope I am not getting another cold. The Optifast is going down quite easily today. I am so glad I have 2 weeks off work, it would be hard going having to go to work like this. |

| Another interesting day today - first day out of house doing jobs, had to go to daughters school for uniform fitting for high school, parent teacher interview - went to local shop for bread milk etc and I was absolutely stuffed, with terrible gas pain - the incisions are great, hardly any abdo pain really, but the shoulder is at times unbearable. I was a very unhappy camper this arvo/evening - but all good now. How is everyone else going??? Cheers Arn :) PS: Sorry to vent on you all!! |

| Hi All, Well its one week today and I'm feeling heaps better I see the dr and dietitian tommorrow and then on to mushies. Sleeping is still unconfortable(tummy sleeper) but other than that I am great. I treated myself to a boost smoothie yesterday but I was very full. Have added my details to the list. | For Bella Potato, Leek and Bacon Soup Ingredients 10 small potatoes (peeled and diced) 1 leek (washed and sliced thinly, white part only) 175g bacon (diced, all fat and rind removed) 1 tbsp butter 1 garlic, crushed or diced finely 1/2 tub of light sour cream 3-4 cups of chicken stock Method 1. Melt butter in a large saucepan, add garlic and leek and cook well. 2. Add bacon and cook well 3. Add chicken stock and bring to the boil. 5. Add potatoes and let them cook until tender, approx 20 minutes (I let mine cook for longer) 6. Remove from the heat and blend (I did it with a hand blender while it was in the pot) 7. Put sour cream in a bowl and mix it so it becomes a little thiner and add some soup to it and mix it, then add this to the soup and whisk it. |

| Hi Julyites I had my clips out today and it was a breeze. I go to see Dr for a fill on the 18th August. My birthday is this Friday so that is going to be pretty uneventful this year. Has anyone else been on Liquids for their birthday? Maybe I'll treat myself to a Baileys and Ice (just one). Still getting used to what quantities I can have and yes my stomach is protesting loudly as well. Debbie |
