Qui that is fantastic - I am so pleased for you and slightly jealous lol.....Getting to double digits is fantastic, but under 90 is awesome - that is my next goal.
So keep up the great work you are inspiring me....

| I am flying out to see my surgeon on Sunday for an appointment on Monday. This will be my first post op visit. (My surgeon is over 1000kms away). I am hoping he will give me my first fill. I have not lost anything for the last 2.5 weeks so am keen to get things moving again! Will let you know how it all goes. |

Hi Arn
You are doing well, I have not lost anything in the last week, sitting at 89.4... so have actually gained 300g (was 90.4 at my fill Wednesday last week, then went down to 89.1, but back up to 89.4 where I have been since..). I am also looking for food at night, and I am scheduled for a fill on Monday. I hope that this will then fix my problem at least for a while. The first fill (1ml) only really lasted a couple of days and then started getting hungry again. I do feel it if I eat too much (I am careful not to), but I get hungry before I should, so that is my main problem. Oh well, learning every day, and at least I am a lot less now to what I have been for a long time, so I am feeling good. Good luck for your fill, did you have any fill at the time of operation? I am not sure if I did, but will ask on Monday how much is in the band. |

Hi everyone,
Isn't it amazing how life gets busy again ?? How is everyone going?
Barge I hope the port flip is fixed quickly and everything gets back on track for you. Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
I have decided it must be getting close to fill time...I have an appointment next Thursday - I am still eating very little and feeling quite full when I do - BUT - feeling hungry more often and the head hunger is getting a bit worse - last night I was searching the pantry for something sweet after dinner. That is the first time I have done that since before Opti.
I made a cup of tea and put myself to bed to avoid the kitchen. There actually isn't anything to eat in the cupboard that's naughty !!!
I only lost a couple of 100 grams this week but am still happy I am double digits and going down.
My body is changing and I feel so much more comfortable and lighter already....so all is good.
Keep all your stories coming good, bad or indifferent.
Tootle

| I'm going back under the knife in two weeks time to fix my flipped port. I have set the record with my surgeon for the quickest flipped port and he is one of the Melbourne pioneers! I'm feeling special. Now to actually lose some weight. |

Hi All,
Had my first app today (been 6 weeks since band)...have lost 21 kg now which is great!...Was hoping for some fill but was told as long as I am still losing weight I wont be getting any! I feel like Im eating too much but they seemed happy with my progress... guess they are the experts!
Dont have another app for 8 weeks...I guess I just dont want to get to the stage of not losing and I guess it has a bit to do with not trusting myself with food!!
Hope everyone else is well! xx |

Hello July Bandits
How are you all going?
I read the post for Rules of the Road, and realise I have heaps to learn. No 1, to watch the times I drink, and not to drink with food, or too close after food. No 2, to chew well and eat slowly, taking small bites. I feel that I am eating too much, and this is because I am eating too quickly and also drink too close after food. Today I am going to pay special attention to the two things and see how I go. I am due for a fill on Monday (2nd) and will have to be very careful and not think that everything will go down as easily as it has up to now.
If you have not read the thread, then it is worth while reading (from the start). |

| TY Barge. I had some cans of Coke Zero in the fridge. First mouthfull came right back up again, but have sipped the rest of the can, and it's painful, but hopefully if the gas doesn't move it, the Coke will breakdown whatever is there. Thanks for the info. Cheers, Robin |

Robindoh,
I have read elsewhere on these boards that if something is stuck, a fizzy drink will clear it one way or the other - burp, PB, just the gas moves it, or it washes through.
Probably worth a try - can't hurt I wouldn't think at this stage.

Help!!! i posted this on another thread an hour ago, and no help coming forth.
I am hoping someone on here can help me. I had my first fill 2 weks ago. I am almost 8 weeks post op. Surgeon suggested a week of fluids again, after fill, which I did. Now I am back on solids again, but I think something is stuck. If I even drink water, it comes straight back up. Soup also. I have had NO vomitting or nausea all the way through, until over the weekend. I am feeling sooo miserable, and my surgeon's office is closed, so I can't phone them for advice. Any idea how I can shift whatever is stuck there? |

| Good for you Anr, well done. I do like the Pancake Parlour here in Melbourne, but have not been since banded. I did overeat yesterday though on some home made rye bread (full of seeds and chewy stuff). It did not get stuck, but I had too much, and probably too quickly so I did not notice that I was full until it was too late. AWWWW...did I suffer the consequences....it was painful, and lasted for a good hour... I drank water trying to "wash it through" and eventually the pain went away. I will not do that in a hurry again. |

Hi Everyone,
This afternoon I took my girls out to dinner at Pancakes on the Rocks for an early dinner with a group of friends. My first foray at eating out since banding.......scary but went well.
I chose a savoury chicken crepe on a bed of lettuce, hold the sour chilli cream.....it was lovely - but the thing that really got me was the change in my head!!! Everyone around me was eating huge stacks of pancakes with ice cream, whipped butter, cream, hot chocolate etc etc and I wasn't tempted and I felt a bit sick thinking about it.
The "old" me would have had a stack of 3 with the lot, iced chocolate and whatever I could get my hands on. So I was suprised at my reaction.
Let's be honest though - I think deep down I would have liked it but my head was telling me otherwise....so I've gotta be happy about that.
The chicken crepe was great - yummo but I am so enjoying the results I have achieved so far and I really don't want to undo it.
How is everyone else going?
Cheers
Arn :) |

The weight might be worth it in the end, at least the band should have settled properly in place.
I was told I have a large band, but not sure what that means, surgeon only put 1ml in, and I can feel some restriction, but going back after 2 weeks for another fill. Maybe I had some fill from the start?? Not sure. Anyway, good to be in the Band Brigade, lets hope the weight will go downhill from now on :) |

| Hey all great to see everyones doing well! COngratts on all the losses!! Hope to join you soon i am feeling like there might possibly be something wrong with my band its almost half full and im starving all day i can eat anything and have had two fills and just have to use will power to restrict myself ive put on alot of weight and have barely eaten a thing. My surgeon sees people for like a minute and then takes the next patient so im considering finding someone new. |

Hi All,
I haven't been here for AGES as feeling a bit despondent about the whole deal-especially having to wait 8 weeks before 1st fill & being able to eat as much as normal :( On the positive side I have still lost a bit..no gain.
So after my 1st fill on Thurs I feel a lot happier but it's hard to remember to chew lots & take my time. At last I have some restriction! & feel like I have finally joined the Band Brigade.
Part of the reason I could eat so much was the Dr put in a 12ml band instead of a 9ml band. So it was like there was nothing there. He put in 7.5ml on Thurs! Was going to put in a tiny bit more but decided not to as it was 1st fill. I go for another fill in 2 weeks.
So excited & positive.
Cheers to all.

Congratulations Arn,
I share yur excitement as I also reached double digits for the first time in ten years last Wednesday. I hit 99.9 and celebrated (not with food) and you guessed it for the last three mornings I have been back up to 100.2 - 100.3. This journey has a few twists and turns and can really play with your mind. Still now I know its possible.
Cheers Maggie
I am a newbie to these postings so can any other bandit tell me what B UMP means? and how do I add my weight loss to the July bandidts list? |
