| Thanks Qui, I am pretty sure it is the training that is helping the weight loss and the litres of water I am drinking. I have a Dr and Dietician visit this thurs and will probably get my last fil until the end of January - Surgery closed for Xmas then I am away for 3 weeks...... It will be interesting to see ho w we all fare over the next few weeks with xmas etc. You are doing well too - we are all are. It is such an individual journey for all of us. Tootle Loo Arn |

| Hey Barge!!! Sorry to say but i have been dieting like crazy! Im so scared im going to look at a pizza the wrong way and its all going to come back. I joined fernwood and go 4 times a week, and I try to stick to under 1400 calories a day. I record everything on calorie king like its full time job. I just keep focused on the fact that the 'diet' will only be until i get my band fixed, and the more weight i can lose before the band is fixed the more weight the band will help me lose. I think because I know it wont just be me having to keep the weight off its been easier. But i know what you mean about the Drs thinking its ok. I currently have 10 mll in my 10 mll band. I went back once a week, and it was only when i got to 10mll that the dr sent me to have all the tests. But the best thing has been that Dr was happy to fill me once a week, once a month fills would be awful. Anyways I have surgery on Monday - hoping it all gets resolved and can restart my journey!! | Hi Noose et al Some tips my dietician gave me are: Only eat from a bread & butter plate - any more than that is over eating. Put your knife & fork down between each mouthful. Sing the chorus of a song 3 times in your head while you chew & don't swallow until the 3rd chorus is complete. I don't need to do this often anymore. I know it sounds odd but it really helped me to slow down - I've always inhaled rather than chewed. I had trouble timing drinks & food. It seemed like I would eat something & my body would immediately remember it was dying of thurst & demand I slam a drink down - much to my detriment, so I sip water from a bottle all day which also helps. I have 5.5ml in a small band & I can no longer eat ANYTHING before 12 noon-ish but I can eat steak & fresh bread after that so go figure! Everyone is different & each of our bands are different (& have personalities of their own I'm quite sure!) so give yourself some time to get it right. Hugs to all Kate |

| Hi Again Noose, Just checked my stats, I have actually only lost 8.9kgs since banding... not sure where I came up with 10kgs in previous post.. the average per month since banded is 2.5kgs. So don't lose heart, you are not alone. |

| Hi Noose, also, are you drinking with your food? That could make you be able to eat more, so try to remember to drink only after 1 hour after food. This is one thing I am working hard at. | Hi Qui, Thanks that gives me hope. The people around me that know i have had the band always ask "how much have you lost now" i feel that they wonder why i have bothered. i tend to eat fast( i have all my life, eat while its hot)so slowing down is a real challenge |

| HI Noose, Are you feeling any restriction at all? It did take me 4 fills to get real restriction, and today I have had my 5th so hoping the weight loss will "speed up" a bit. I was very disheartened at the start as I was not doing that well, but I am feeling better about it now. I have lost exactly 10kgs since banding, the rest was prior to banding on Optifast, so I am not a fast loser either. Have a good chat with the doctor when you go for your fill on the 25th and tell him/her how you feel. |

| Thanks Arn, Yes I did feel good at the wedding, and at least looking at the photos I could see a big difference to what I was like. You are doing very well with your weight loss, and like you said, the band is a great tool. I had my 5th fill today, only 0.2, bringing total to 7.5mls in a 13mls band.
