Well, no fill for me!!!
I had lost just under 4kg in 4 weeks, so doc was happy with that. Another app in 4 weeks.
If i keep going like this i think i might be able to say im at a sweet spot for now, time will tell.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Cheers for now Kel |

Katie.
PT was $35 for 1/2hr, but well worth it.
Fill tomorrow woohoo!!!
Had my hubbys party last night and i had LOTS of comments. It was really nice to have comments that were not "your looking well" in other words Mmmmm, your looking plump!!! it was really good cos it gives me a little more push to keep gooing hard. -

Kel, that sounds good that your kids go to daycare there! That will keep the motivation up I reckon :)
How much did it cost for the personal trainer. I think I'd be the same... not able to push myself like I probably should.
Congrats on hitting 98, and you'll be 95 before you know it! I'm hanging out for my next fill too, it's on Thursday morning and I can't wait. The one after that is a month later and I will be pushing to have one inbetween.
Keep up the good work!

Hi Katie.
I'v joined the gym were my kids go to daycare.
I had my first session with a personal trainer yesterday and i loved it, i think i need some one to push me that ltlle more than i would push myself.
I go at 9am and there is mostly oldies and mums there so i feel comfy going.
scales read 98 to day, going for 95 by 10th oct!!
Mmmm 1 kg a week, dont know if i will acheive it. Im getting a fill that i need badly on tuesday, its been a month since i had one, so looking forward to it!!!

I am a member of my local gym and was before I had the band (although I never went nearly as much as I should). Main thing for me was it had a pool because I like to do a couple of aquafit sessions per week. Very good transition activity for people who are looking to ramp up the exercise and want low impact (due to our creaky knees etc).
I also do 2 body pump classes per week (lifting weights to music in a group class) also low impact but good calorie burner. I throw in a pilates class per week as well for variety. Don't think it burns an awful lot of calories but good for flexibility.

Hi everyone,
Hope that everyone is going well this week. I haven't weighed myself in a few days, I was sick of seeing the same numbers every morning lol
I have decided that I really need to get some focus now, and I need to watch what goes into my mouth more than ever before.
I am starting to focus on getting more protein, rather than filling up on carbs. I don't eat red meat, so I have stocked up on veggie sausages, lentils, and I am trying to get myself to eat some fish (I hate tuna, so I am trying salmon).
I have found I can still eat too much, even though I am trying not to. I have had a couple more times with food getting stuck, so that's a sign that I'm not slowing down enough I think.
I went and got myself a pair of runners today, I have decided that I need to step up the exercise (beyond the wii fit lol).
To those who have already taken the plunge and joined a gym, did you join a normal gym or something like curves? It's so foreign to me, and I don't want to waste my money....
What is everyone else doing exercise wise?
Katie :) |

Re travel insurance. I called SureSave for a trip I am planning for next year. They said they do insure for an extra premium but they won't do it until I have been banded for 6 months.
I have to call back in December and then I think go to my doc and get a letter. |

Hi all,
To Minimisingme - I am soooo jealous of your trip and we are in the planning stages for a trip next July which I am so excited as I know I will be thinner and travelling will be so much more enjoyable! what is the deal with travel insurance with the lapband - I hadnt considered any issues with it and nor had I thought there would be a problem if it was declared as a pre-existing surgical procedure.
Many sound like they are having similar experiences but good that we are all losing weight. Even slow weight loss is better than we used to experience. I have lost more since my last fill but am noticing more food eating stuck but have noticed that if I eat when I am not particularly hungry the likelihood of food getting stuck is higher.
Keep up the good work fellow June bandits. Have updated weightloss below

Mandy, that sounds amazing!
Have you been to Europe before? The south of France is one of my favourite places, the people are so great and it is really beautiful!
I am so jealous lol
How long will you be gone for? I think I would be doing the same thing (getting a little out for piece of mind) and then worrying about losing when you get back. Let's face it, a European holiday is no place to be worrying about weight (I'm thinking amazing pizza and gelati in Rome, delicious cheeses and croissants in France, and yummy fish and chips and Indian food in London lol)
Hope you are very excited, wishing you lots of luck for the trip!

Thanks for all your lovely congratulations.
I am a very lucky girl and am going to London, Paris,4 nights on the Midi canals in southern France, Barcelona, Venice, Florence and Rome.
We had planned this for some time next year but my specialist said I wont be able to go then so we are going in a week and a bit EEEKKK!
I didnt get insurance for my band nor was I able to get it for my kidneys so Im just going to have to hold my breath and cross my fingers! We are in Italy for a third of the time and we have a reciprical health care agreement with them which means free treatment in public hospitals just like here so Ive told my husband if I get sick to drag me across their border!
Everyone seems to be doing so well, Im proud of us all.
Thanks for the offer of clothes Lisa but unfortunately I live in Melbourne.
Katie I do think I might get a bit out if I can, I dont want to put on weight but I have had a couple of things get stuck and it was really awful...Im not going to enjoy myself if I am constantly fretting about getting a blockage and not having insurance! |

| Tracey - LOL - thanks for message. Who cares if it is only a short lived burst at the gym. It will get some weight off quick and help tone the flab from the early weight loss. And who knows, maybe this time, you will keep it up in part or whole!!! Enjoy! Warm wishes, Lisa |

| Thanks Lisa. I am obviously very pleased but should say I am working out like a crazy woman. You know there are theories about overeaters rplacing their food addiction with something else? I think my new addiction is the gym. There are certainly worse obsessions but it's not for everyone and certainly hasn't been for me in the past. I just feel so much more motivated this time around! |

Hi all!
Just checking in... seeing those stats have confirmed how much I need more fill! I've only lost another kg since posting those...
I got a fill yesterday, she only gave me 1/2 ml. i haven't noticed much more restriction except I did have my first episode of something getting stuck!
It was a bit of tomato from my salad and I must not have chewed enough and it really got stuck.
I was out for lunch and didn't really know what to do lol
I was trying to drink water to make it go down but that didnt seem to help, and i thought something fizzy might help but it was even worse haha
Anyways it went down after about 3 minutes thankfully.
So whilst I do have to chew better, I still don't feel too restricted....
Got another fill next thursday and I'll be pushing for 1ml I think!
Hope everyone is well

Hi - update from my last post....
Turns out I'd lost 1.4 kg in 5 weeks despite eating extra and lots of junk. So doc and I decided against a fill. If I just cut out the high fat food , I should hopefully hit my goal of losing 1/2 to 1 kg per week over the next month.
My stats have dropped off so I've taken the last entry I could see and added mine back in.
