Congrats on the loss Mandy!! that great!!!
I see my Dr in about 3 weeks too, so hopefully I get a fill then as well.
Finding I can def eat more if I want, trying hard to stick to one cup. Was bad last night and had a few very well chewed hot chips, they were liquid by the time they went down!! lol
Yep, i have a dent where my big incision is too, more so if i suck in. All the others are flat and really good.
Im taking the tablets cut up, might have to get some of the liquid vitamins, sound yummy!!

Hi all, I returned to work Monday this week. Op 3/6 I am now starting to relax as my wounds are great. The port site I was very nervous about removing the steri strips because last time I didn't even make it to 2 weeks post op before the infection set in. This time day 14 I take the strips off and my port site is flat and pale. I didn't have any shoulder tip pain post op and I am surprised my belly is so deflated. I was told it was an easy op considering we were expecting adhesions and the unknown.
This compares to the other scar (op7/8/08) just above it. Before port removed 20/11 and band 17/12 was removed that port was raised and when I walked it did dimple noticebly. This one is flat. But then again the other band was a Johnson & Johnson which has a wider and higher port compared to this Allergan brand.
I am now on mushies. I am having no trouble- perhaps I learnt well. I am to have my first fill next week.
I have lost 4 kg post op but this is not the time to lose, it is time for healing with increased protein for healing and reducing appetite. My size 14 work pants are too big. I brought size 12 on Tuesday as the 14's were falling down and I was walking on the hems. Top still a 16 so a bit like a pizza slice. Oh well when I get back to the gym it will come good. Barb |

Wow congrats on the big losses everyone!
I have been sitting on the same 2kg loss all week. I did feel a bit sad but then realised its only been a week so I should be happy.
Back to work today so hopefully being back to normal life will kick start the weight loss now.
Mandy, I cant see any of my incisions, they put dressings on them and told me to just leave them till they come off and they are still there.
I do know that I dont have any stitches though.
Glad to hear everyone is getting along ok!

Hi everyone,
Well I had my post op appointment today (was banded last Wednesday) and have lost 7.2 kilos since I first saw the Dr 5 weeks ago, four of those are post op.
I am thrilled as that's a huge result for me, I came out of the office grinning like a fool!
I get my first fill in three weeks, have to keep wearing the stupid stockings for another week though BLERGH!
I not feeling hungry although I am feeling very dizzy but the Doctor thinks my blood pressure medication is already too high.
Still on liquids for the next week. I found a really nice lentil and bacon soup at Safeway that when blended still has some "bite" to it and makes me feel like I'm eating something. Ive also discovered weight watchers cookies and cream ice cream and it seems very wicked. I'm also taking supradyn soluble vitamins and don't mind the taste...a bit like fruit tingles.
Welcome to all the new June bandees and good luck to those who are going in soon.
Great to hear you are feeling a bit better Katie!
Oh I had a question...does anyone else's large incision sort of make a dent in their belly or is mine just sewn super tight or something??? |

| Well i am nearly at the end of my second day post op. Not feeling too bad, but getting a bit dizzy every now and then. lost 4kg already, but you'd want a result like that having only liquids! Had a bit of icecream tonight cos i thought i was starting to go crazy from not eating something semi normal. (was only half cup) it really fills you up!I am finding sleeping fine but the gassy feeling in the tummy hurts a little sometimes (heat pack is my new best friend) Back to work tomorrow, don't know how long I will last there tho. How is everyone else coping? |

hi all, just giving an update to the ones I know, my new surgery date is July 20th, so Ive jumped a month. For those who dont know I was to be banded June 2nd but my surgeon cancelled on me, had to go see a new one. Now being done by Mr Chan at Maryvale, Morwell. So its time to get refocused and back onto opti.

Hey everyone,
How are we all feeling?
Karen, thanks for the kind wishes, I'm feeling a lot better today and thank goodness as I only have one more day off then I'm back to work!
I've gotten out of the house the past 2 days which I think has helped, even if I really didn't feel like it.
I have been sticking to the straw diet... I think I had something a bit too heavy yesterday but have been careful to water everything down today.
I've had half a can of baked beans, whizzed up with some tomato soup and cheese (that was yum)
and a potato whizzed up with some milk (kinda like potato soup).
Also have been having ice cream and yogurt and milk.
Tomorrow is the last day I'm having off, then I'll be getting on top of my calorie intake, as I said earlier, it's hard to be healthy when you feel terrible lol
Well, hope everyone is feeling good (or as good as possible)

Hey ang.
Congrats on joining the world of the bandit!!
Glad everything went well for you.
Keep up the pain killers and take it easy for a few days, I slept with a few pillows for a few nights just so i didnt stretch my tummy too much.
Peppermint tea and a heat pack help with the wind and pain.
How long are you on liquids for?
Look forward to following your journey.
Hope everyone else is going fine.
All good here, still on liquids, you all will be on mushies before i am!!
Must admit, prob had a few things classed more as mushies, but all good.

Hi all
I got banded yesterday by Kevin Dolan in Perth. All went well. I am in a bit of pain today but not too bad. Just needing a good night sleep i think. I am on the clear fluids but tomorrow can drink v8 juice etc. Have to say the the gas buildup in the tummy post op can be uncomfortable! |

Ha Ha, I will hold him down, you staple!!! lol
Mmmm, its kinda hard to tell if im full, i dont get that stuffed feeling more of a heavy feeling. ive had a few things that i think prob would class more as mushies. just trying to water things down more.
I dont think one drink would hurt, just make sure you have something in your tummy before, you dont want it to go straight to your head!!
I know, you would think we would be at least a size 12 by now!!!hahaha One day, one day!!

Good luck Bron!
Oh Kel give me his number and Ill go staple him to a chair and make him drink opti for three weeks and see if he thinks the weight watchers mousse is reasonable then!
Yes I gave the power walk a miss today, today was the first day Ive felt hungry and I ate some bacon and lentil soup (fatfree)...too much I think because its a bit uncomfortable. It was possibly a bit thick as well.
I tried a top on this morning, one of my favourites I got too big for this year, and guess what??!!?? It did NOT fit yet! HURUMPHF! What do you mean Im not skinny yet? :)
I have a big birthday party to go to Saturday night and will have to avoid all food but I was thinking of sitting on one red wine all night so as not to look too conspicuous...do you think One wine would be ok?
