I am living on the continental cup-a-soups too, dont strain it just use the blender if you have one and blend the noodles etc in, extra flavor!!!!
they are at safeway for 99c at the moment too!!

Today I wore a pair of jeans I bought in November 2007 for a holiday. I had dieted before the holiday and wore them while I was away but dont think I even got to wear them once when I got home. As always my weight rebounded.
I dont look any different yet but I already feel different. |

Hi all,
One week on - i had my dressings removed today and now only have the small bonding strips left... the removal of the dressing has actually set me back a couple of days in terms of discomfort. They seem to ache more and be more sensitive to movement now - otherwise, no shoulder pain, can get myself places and am not going insane on liquids yet!!!
On that point, something i have discovered to be excellent especially during winter... Continental Cup-a-soup!! The flavour range is huge and they are REALLY nice and take as long as it takes for your kettle to boil to prepare!! I have just been mixing them in a mug and them pouring them into a bowl through a siv to take out the noodles, peas etc. Having Dutch Curry right now :))) YUM!!!!!!!!

Welcome home FI. Isn't it always the way that just when you really need to use something it blows up!
I think the smoothies will be fine if you stick to a cup and are not adding lots of ice cream. I also found banana and low fat milk with a little dash of honey great.
If you have a heat bag thats great for the sore tummy but dont lay it over your incisions. |

Hi all.
Home from hospital this morning. All went well... no shoulder pain whatsoever, just really really sore abs! feels like I've been punched in the belly something chronic!
I went to make myself a fruit smoothy when i got home (so totally over chicken broth!) and my blender decided to blow up... smoke and funky smell everywhere! typical.
I'm really not good at judging how much to eat at this stage... the smoothy is so tasty I want to have it all, but know that it is at least a cup full of juice etc that it's probably not a good idea!! need to learn how to make smaller portions!
Hope everyone is doing well...
ciao for now

Glad it all went well. I am feeling better by the hour and whilst still tender the pain when moving is reducing a lot and have yet to take any digesics today. We may catch up sometime waiting to see Dr Talbot. My first post op appointment with Dr Talbot and dietician is at St George on 16th July at 11.00am so if yours is at a similar time please introduce yourself. I have a blond bob type of hairstyle. Good luck with your recovery and being the late June Bandits we have the benefit of the early June bandits posts which I have found really helpful. |

Hi there.
My thoughts on pizza......would you have eaten lots more had you not had the band? If so, I'd give yourself a bit of kudos. As my clinics dietician and psychologist have both said to me, the concept of banned food of former diets needs to go. There are just everyday foods and sometimes foods. You've just had your 'sometime'food for the next week or two.
Hope that helps. |

| Wow - amazing you got to 10,000 steps. Re the hip pain, I'm no expert but I've been having side of leg pain. The doctor yesterday said it is more likely from back problems that I had pre operation, rather than the banding. So it may just be something similar for you - back, posture etc. Some stretching may help or a quick visit to massage/physio. Hope that helps. |

Hi there.
Glad to hear you both had a good experience.
I also was operated on by Dr Talbot - 2 weeks ago.
Unfortunately, I've had a fair bit of shoulder and other pain, but I'm close to being fully functioning now. Just a bit of tummy pain left and my energy is still returning.
I look forward to meeting you if you are attending the monthly group meetings. |

Back from hospital this morning. Feeling pretty good. Doc found a hiatus hernia and fixed that as well! Having no trouble drinking, no gas, no shoulder pain. Hubby has been fabulous. Looking forward to milking it as long as I can!
Deb H. I was last on Dr Talbot's list yesterday so didn't have to be there until 1pm and went into theatre at 3.30pm. I too have a fabulous experience with doctors, hospital and staff as well as a great view out over Botany Bay - sunrise was spectacular!
All in all everything is pretty good. Hopefully I wont regress.

Mandy,
My boy was a bit the same, buying me chocolates etc. I just told him that I'm not interested in that sort of thing anymore! For easter he got me a bottle of wine instead of easter eggs (not sure if the calories would have been any different, but he's on the right track lol)
jbone, thanks for letting us know about the weight tracker... i have been using a graph tool in excel but this looks way better! i'll be signing up on the weekend for sure!

Hi everyone!! Welcome to July!!
I just wanted to let you all know of a WICKED free tool i have located online! Its at a website called www.medhelp.org
There is an online tracker where you can plot your weight loss journey on a graph, make journal entries and even add photos as you progress.... that last one may not be for everyone but i am doing it!!
You create a profile similar to a facebook page, you can join communities for lap band surgery and have updates to the forums posted on a widget on your profile..
Its really cool!!! Check it out, perhaps many of us can join together? Your profile page will always have a table on it that summarises your progress which is also cool!
I am in there already, my username is "jbone".
If you join, and locate the lap band surgery community, i have posted in there today, you can use that to check out my profile if you wish...
Anyway, may not be for everyone but i think its a RIPPER tool especially considering its for free :)))
Hopefully see some of you in there!!
