Sometimes Yahoo puts in spaces in a link, I typed this link without any spaces so if there are any spaces please remove them before searching.

Hi,
My operation is going to be the 7th May. I am feeling like it is a good thing for me healthwise. I started the Optifast shakes 2 weeks ago and have lost 8kgs. My doctor said the more weight I lost preop the more room he will have to move in op (I am paraphrasing). Some friends have suggested I postpone the operation and give Optifast a go, but I realise that this is a behavioural modification exercise also - so after the operation there will be no drastic changes. I am nervous about it - mostly the scarring, but in the long run I will look great. Scars mean you have survived. Good luck with your op! |

I had my band in August 2005, since the surgery I have terrible trouble swallowing. I can't eat anything solid and live on yogurt and things like that. I choke and then need to release. I have been checked and they said I was fine. What do you know about this, if anything?
Thank you!

| My operation is on 23rd May, am commencing optifast next week, have bought some of those essences, that have been mentioned, it has taken me 6 months to decide, have been having anxiety over what a major challenge this will become. I just hope I can cope with 3 weeks of shakes before op., and 3 weeks of liquids after. I live in NSW southern highlands area. What I haven't seen is the amount of days in hospital and level of pain, need some real answers. |

Hi winsome
Welcome. In case you are not aware this is an Australian site not that, that matters, everyone around the world is welcome here. The majority of us on this board have had our surgery done in Australia.
I'd like to suggest that you repost your message on the General Chat thread, you will get more responses there.

Mexico? Hrmmmmmmmmmmm.... a little far away for most of the people on this board I would imagine... The airfare over would cost just as much as the surgery!!!
Good luck for your surgery! :)
