Hi Everyone,
It has been a little while since i last posted. I Currently have gone from 134kgs to 104kgs.
I know this is a great achievement but i feel like im stuck here at the moment. My dr says im currently going through a plateau. But i think it is more a psychological barrier more than anything. Any tips on how i can get past this? I really want to be losing steady amounts of weight again. Thank you Claire |

| Hi Jen, I've just hit 95kgs lost (pretty happy with that). I want to lose about 10 more. But I am not going to stress myself getting there. Funny I say that because I am currently doing Boot Camp and feeling very stressed!!! |

Hi Jen,
Great to hear you are doing well, how is Mat doing? George has stayed pretty much the same although finally starting to loose again.
But with all of us, we stayed the same weight for a couple of months but changed in shape go figure!!
Hayley to has started loosing again and today weighed 105kgs so she has lost 30.1kgs now and is thrilled. She still thinks that she is huge but she and me also are now 1/4 of our bodies gone wahooooo!!!
Jen I don't have a facebook account but I should get the kids to show me how to do it and join, as I would love to see some new pics of friends from this site who no longer update their piczo sites.
Anyway darl great to hear from you, take care.
Best wishes,
Gerry |

Hi Everyone,
I check this site regularly, but haven't had much to tell, so haven't made any comments... Everyone is very quiet!!!!
Well, I have finally been hit double figures... Been in the 90's for over a week... Woowho!!!! Last time I was in the 90's was over 20 years ago... This morning, I weighed 98.7kg... Thats a loss of 36.2 kg... very happy with that... I would like to lose about another 10 to 15 kg, but know that these are going to be the hardest ones to shift... I have started mixing up my gym routine a bit as the past 2 months I hadn't really lost anything... maybe a kilo or 2... So it must be working as the scales are starting to move again...
I think I am pretty much at my sweet spot with my band... I do have some days that I just cant seem to eat much at all... Then others, I can eat anything... it's still a steep learning curve...
Well done Craig (Wattle)... 90kg lost... that is huge... You are an inspiration... You must feel fantastic... How much more did you want to lose???
Gerry, I can get into my pizco site to update anything, but I still look at everyones elses to see how they are going... Gerry, are you on facebook???
Rachel, you are looking fabulous... Your new photo's on face book (white dress) are awesome... You are doing a great job...
I wish I had this done years ago... I have never lost this much weight before...
Hope you are all keeping well....
Keep up the good work...
Ciao

Ive been on standstill for about 2 weeks and more and more hungry so I have an appointment today for a fill, i can;t wait to see 79kg on the scales!!!!!!
I am now in size 12!! i am still finding size 14 bottoms more comfortable though. Ive always been smaller on top.

| Thanks Gerry, I have really noticed the increased attention in the last 7kgs... what a difference being in the 70's vs. the 80's has made to the comments i get. I have not told most people about my band... I just say i am eating less and moving more... If i talk to someone who is struggling with obesity i am sure i would tell them because the lap band has been an amazing tool to help me to succeed. Take Care |

Hi April_bandit,
Congrats on your losses and your NSV wahooo!!!.
Well for me I can finally say I am at my sweet spot since my last fill, I had stayed the same weight for 2 months and thought the scales weren't going to move again, but yah they have finally moved and I have now lost 23.4kgs and weigh 85.4kgs, size 14/16 tops and 14/16/18 bottoms depending on the store, my starting weight was 108.8kgs, size then 22/24's in everything.
It has been a slow loss for me, but hey I have not been this weight or size for over 20yrs, I now don't get the "oh have you lost weight?", I now get the shock factor "Oh My Gosh!!! you've lost weight, what have you been doing?", and I gladly tell them I had lap band surgery and would recommend it to anyone else struggling with obesity.
Hope everyone else is also doing well as our site has been very quiet over the last couple of months.
But I still pop in everyday to see if someone has posted.
Best wishes,
Gerry |

congratulations wattle!!! 90kgs my god!
Yeah my weight loss has slowed the last few weeks too, having to keep a food diary and push that exercise a little more to reach weight loss on the scales -
mel the shake diets do help kick start some weight loss but im against them - they don't maintain weight loss in the long haul and can usually cause a weight gain when eating normally after so i have realised this through trying to kick a plateau with shakes..if it works for you, go for it! but ive found eating alot of protein and eating every 3 hours has done the trick..still we all have our ups and downs. I do turn to chocolate when Im stressed, and Im still trying to break this habit
starting weight 6th april 2009 110kg, current weight 85kg loss of 25kgs |

Hi Rach,
I pop in every day to check in but everyone must be enjoying their new founds lives as bandits.
We are all still stuck on a platue, so have decided to measure ourselves instead of weighing in on the scales because they keep saying the same or nearly the same weight.
But have lost in measurement over the last week, so the blubber lol is moving somewhere, don't quite know were but it is going.
We are enjoying (that is George and I) doing nearly an hour of water aerobics in our pool of an afternoon. I just put a CD on that has about 19 or 20 songs on it and just keep going in the water until the CD has finished.
We also bought ourselves a new boat about a month ago and have taken the kids and their friends biscuiting and kneeboarding. What a c ack, have seen some very funny stacks.
Any way darlin hope all is well with you in Tassie, take care.
Luv, Gerry |

Hi Gerry
Im glad I checked my blog as I would not have seen this otherwise - glad to hear we are all going well, ive just crossed the 6 months having a band - time flies!!! It feels it was only yesterday I had started this journey - congratulations everyone on their 6 month bandiversary!!!
I can definitely say that 6 months makes a lot of difference, for example I remember about 6 weeks after surgery when the weight had come to a standstill I thought, I have to get creative, what do I need to do to get this weight off - and this was the moment where I realised that this band is a tool and not a cure. I realised I had to help it, push along some results with watching what I ate and doing exercise.
6 months down the track I am exactly where I calculated I'd want to be - half way through my journey with a loss of 24kg and another 24kg to go - but I see it more as 1kg step by step. Some weeks I don't get a loss, other weeks i lose 1.5kg. Its an ongoing thing - 12 months ideally I'd like to be at goal weight, some people takes 18 months. Im prepared for that.
Last time I saw my surgeon I said to him - see you in 4kg!!! He thought that was great - and ive lost 3kg since and another 2 weeks to go so i like knowing ive also got someone else to answer to
So today, I am 86kg exactly and started this at 110kg.
Hope you are all going well keep up the good work!! |

Hi Rach,
popped onto your blog the other day and left a comment for you, glad to hear you are doing well. We too are all at a standstill at the moment, but George and I had a top up yesterday so hopefully things will brighten up soon.
Best wishes,
Gerry
PS hope to see some pics of NZ on your blog. |

arent we all a quiet lot...have all the April 09 bandits left us and gone to the April thread??
All good with me, no gains just losses! Slowly and surely though, ive always been a slow loser. I am sitting right on 86.7kg or 87kg depending on the day..trying to squash the 86kg for good. 24kg gone!! Im expecting a bit of a plateau to hit soon when I get to 80kg i suspect this happened the last time i lost 15kg and now ive lost another 10kg so we will see!
Banded 6th April 2009 at 110kg
Today 86.7kg |

Hi All,
We are a very quiet lot again...
I am still losing at a fairly consistent rate of just under a kilo a week... would like it to be a kilo+ a week, but I would have to do more exercise and eat less to do that, so I cant really complain...
I am so close to the double figures... I am hovering atm between 101 and 103kg, depending on how much I have eaten... Just cant seem to crack the 101 and it has been like that for the past 3 weeks... I was 101.1kg yesterday, and I am 101.7kg today... Overall, I have lost over 33kg, so I am not complaning... I am feeling fantastic, and getting loads of compliment... Matt is not doing as well as expected, as he has slipped back to old habits and is drinking too much empty calories with alcohol... And then eating way too much, particularly at night... I need to put a lock on the fridge...lol... I think he has given up weighing himself.. (or at least he is not telling me what his weight is)... We both have appointment for fills in 2 weeks time... I think we both have pretty good restriction, if anything, probably need some fill out, as we both struggle to eat solid foods, at time... We went out for dinner last night and I had to go and lie down in the car for 10mins, as I was struggling... And I didnt even eat that much, but did have garlic bread first (and it was soooo nice...), so it may have been that...
Hope you are all enjoying your lapband journey... A close friend of mine had it done this week, as she is impressed with my results...
Looking forward to seeing double figuers very soon...
