Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
I can understand that one... Please don't think that i'm being awful though...its just a powerful medication that is great in the short term but it couldn't be taken long term and is really like getting a prescription for speed.

Dr D is understanding, just be blunt and honest with him. I had a band fitted by another surgeon, the port flipped and Dolan did a bypass for me. Hes very good, but write down your questions and hit him up for answers, as i'm sure with most surgeons your in and out the door fast.

Best of luck for tomorrow.

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
Sammanaia,

I used it when I was a teenager, I can't see why you couldn't use it but if your band has enough fill and you are following the surgeons advice then I would hope that you wouldn't want to use it. *** is an appetite suppressant but can have some nasty side effects. It can raise bloodpressure and cause heart palpitations and make you light headed, I found it gave me lots of energy but then I couldn't sleep at night...which was handy at that age. I couldn't take it now with high bloodpressure I think I would pop off my perch.

Good luck with it, but I would say have a talk to you surgeon first and what can be done to get your band working effectively for you.

Hope that helps.

Thanks K, hubby managed to unscrew the lock by entering in through the top. Now it is just locked and the door cannot be shut but at least I could use the cabinet and machine.

So two work pants for hubby, one pair of school pants for the boy and two jeans for me...size 18 jeans...that fit. Woohoo!!!!

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
Marion and Vicki,

Can you have a look at the below taken from
Lapband to tummy tuck thread.
K

Hi This is Laura, and old lapband msg board junkie, some of you oldies might remember me. It's been 3 years since my got my lapband. Now after the journey, and 60+ kg of weight loss, loving life, but just surviving living with the extra skin, i've been fortunate enough to bypass a long wait for a tummy tuck.
It's like all my dreams coming true.
I'm scared out of my mind about the procedure, and the pain and the recovery, but it couldn't have come at a better time, so it's meant to be. Any suggestions, or advice from those who have been through it all would be greatly appreciated.

Bleedin' Nora!
The little ba.... I mean darling! LOL
Sorry, try any other similar size keys, tell them you are playing a memory game to see who has the best memory and throw in one about the key to the sewing cabinet, become a lock picker.

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
Anyone got any suggestions?

My darling four year old has hidden the key to my horn sewing cabinet...grrrrr. I need to access it to alter some clothes for my new job, starting next week.

Darn little scamp....it's probably been stuffed through a hole in the floorboards or flushed down the loo.

Any ideas how to get it open?

Unfortunately Brook got a stomach bug saturday morning and was vomiting so I had to get him to go back home to lessen the chances of me getting it. Thankfully I didnt and he was better in 24 hours but have been doing okay here on my own.

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
Hi Jen sweetie

Yes doing amazingly well - surprised myself actually. Not in much pain at all and just letting the body rest and recover by taking it easy. Sipping away at my soups and liquids but am looking forward to something a bit more substantial to eat but not because I am hungry at all.

Phil is back tomorrow so hopefully he will see a small change in me. 7.7 kilos down so far and under the damn ton again finally and should never see it again!!!

Hi Nicole I presume? My name is Sharon and I live in Butler so not far from you. Like you I am recovering from surgery but would be happy to meet up with you. Maybe the week after next? Anyway my email is sosoborne@westnet.com.au
if you want to have my phone number I can give it to you there. There is so much to be gained by meeting others who have had weight loss surgery and you can make some fantastic friends along the way too.

Hello everyone, I am now banded emoptionaly I am not feeling to bad, physicaly in a bit of pain. But thats to be expected I guess, they also repaired a hernia while in there so apparently I am to expect more pain that normal. I have lost 9 kilo's since the start of optifasting so thats good.

I hope your all well.

I also notice one of you mentioned ocean key's. I live in Merriwa if you would be keen on catching up. I would really love to meet some of you :-)

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
I thought Opti had to be mixed with water, not milk - anyways......
You can always use the bars and soups instead of the shakes.
Good luck, this stage is not for ever and it sets you up for after the op.

Andra is it cows milk that you are intolerant of? If so try making the shakes with soy milk. There is one made by Vitasoy called Soy Milky Lite that is really nice, I use it on my breakfast.

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
OK team I need some advice. I have tried the optifast shakes but I m finding that since I dont tolerate milk too well that it seams to go right thru (if you catch my drift) I get awfulk cramps with it too and if this doesnt happen I will either vomit or feel sick for a couple of hours after. I seam to be resorting back to eating food. I really want Dr Dolan tro give me my date at my next app but I feel if I have not done what he has asked he wont do it any way., Do I stick with it and feel sick all the time or try something else. I cant keep being sick everyday.

Re:DR KEVIN DOLAN - PERTH Reply to this message
I was banded by Kevin Dolan on the 5th February 2009. I have lost 15kg to date (in 4 months).
Things started out very slow but I now have 6mls in a 10ml band and the weight is coming off faster now.
I am feeling great and I would highly recommend Kevin Dolan, not only is he a great surgeon but a really lovely person to match !!
