| Hi All! I just wanted to share some GREAT news, I joined Curves Gym in Balcatta about 2 weeks after my banding (sep 5th) although I didnt actually go and do a workout for about a month after joining. When I did start going I could barely do one circut (more about that in a sec) but I kept going working up to the two that your supposed to do. WHICH I NOW CAN!!!!!! I have lost 22cm all round and 2.5 kilos and I'm starting to feel addicted. I went four times last week and so far have have been 5 times this week. At Balcatta they also have what they call smart curves, basically it's a key tag that fits into every machine ( there is no treadmill by the way) and keeps track of your workout. When you first get it you and the trainer set the tag to your abilities so if your going to slow the machine will let you know and at the end of the workout you tag into a computer and it will tell youhow your performance was, it also recalculates after every 4 workouts to see if you need to be put up a level!!!! On another note Homeart have got electric food steamers for $20 on sale till christmas (OMG not far away now) They are perfect for bandits as they are not too big but big enough. | Hi everyone! I have an appointment on the 24th to see Dr Dolan about getting the lap band. Any tips for the appointment? I also wanted to know, I am getting it done with the aide of health insurance, and am aware of the out of pocket costs involved. But the main thing I wanted to know was how long was it from your initial appointment with Dr Dolan untill your surgery? Am I looking at roughly 3 months? Longer or shorter?? Thanks! Lisa |

| Hi all, I was banded by Kevin Dolan on the 12/11. It's all been going okay so far - I've been in a bit of pain, but really more uncomfortable than anything. Would love to hear from other Perth people, as I don't really know of anyone else that's had a band put in & think it would be fantastic to be able to talk to other people that I can relate to. -Tez |

| I need to vent! A year ago I was refused life insurance because of my weight and impending surgery (my lapband). Now I have lost 35kg, my BMI is 29 down from 41 and I am healthy, happy and size 16.(OK, still 10kg to go to my goal weight but almost there!) Today I have been refused the same life insurance because of my 'BMI and related health issues'. They will not discuss it further 'because we are not doctors'. So they are able to refuse insurance on medical grounds, but unable to discuss it with me as they are not doctors!!!! How many more pounds of flesh do these people need? At first I was embarrased and upset but now I am FURIOUS about it. I will not let these beaurocrats drag me down. I have done amazingly well and am now healthy and happy, and do you know what? I don't need their bloody insurance as I am going to live forever!!! |

| Joke of the Day Once upon a time lived a beautiful Queen with large breasts. Nick the Dragon Slayer obsessed over the Queen for this reason. He knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them, but he had to try... One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, the King's chief doctor. Horatio thought about this and said that he could arrange for Nick to more than satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1000 gold coins to arrange it. Without pause Nick readily agreed to the scheme. The next day, Horatio made a batch of Itching Powder and poured a little bit into the Queen's bra while she bathed. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense. Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Nick would work as the antidote to cure the itch. The King, eager to help his Queen, quickly summoned Nick to their chambers. Horatio then slipped Nick the antidote for the itching powder, which he put into his mouth, and for the next four hours, Nick worked passionately on the Queen's large and magnificent breasts. The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Nick left satisfied and hailed as a hero. Upon returning to his chamber, Nick found Horatio demanding his payment of 1,000 gold coins. With his obsession now satisfied, Nick couldn't have cared less and, knowing that Horatio could never report this matter to the King, and with a laugh told him to get lost. The next day, Horatio slipped a massive dose of the same itching powder into the King's underwear. The King immediately summoned Nick. The moral of the story............ Pay your bills. |

| Actually nah, I think i'm moving past that now....i'm enjoying the feeling of being smaller and fitter and wearing different clothes, timtams just don't rate anymore in my favorite treats, I think the feeling of a pretty underwear or seeing my shoulder blades is a better kick than the timtam ever gave me. Oh my gawd!!! Can't believe I said that....i'm almost there. Jen |
