Hi All! I saw Dr Dolan today and he was very happy with me, I've lost 12 kg since my banding 6 weeks ago. He put a fill of 5ml. I am not sure exactly what he did but it appears as if he put the fluid in in 2 different spots?? I have 2 injection site's and I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light onto what may have happened?
Thanks Andra |

Man flu...hee hee that's funny. My brother has had that now for weeks and is having an ultrasound on thursday for torn muscles that were caused from the coughing...not he says he may have a hernia...men!
Poor Brian, go and snuggle up with a good book and rest up.

Hi Guys,
Hope you are all well. I have been out of commission since Friday with the dreaded lurgi or Man Flu as you ladies would call it. It has knocked me for six. Feeling really miserable.

Hi guys, thought that I would share a recipe that I tried today out of desperation for something sweet but lower in fat. Its a cookie recipe from "Symply Too Good To Be True" vol 1. I'm rather impressed, they are crunchy and yummy!!
Chocolate Snap Cookies
makes 15 cookies
6 tablespoons (90)g flora light margarine
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg white
2 tablespoons of desiccated coconut
12 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup self raising flour
2 tablespoons skim milk
2 cups of rice bubbles
cooking spray
Directions
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius fan forced
In a large mixing bowl cream margarine and sugar. Add egg white and beat, fold in coconut, chocolate chips, flour and milk, mix together. Fold in rice bubbles until ingredients are combined. Drop a dessertspoon of mixture onto a baking tray that has been coated with cooking spray. Flatten each cookie. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire rack
Fat per cookie: 5g
cals per cookie: 117
I think you have to cook them slowly and well so that they get nice and brown and crispy, flattening them helps, i'm very pleased with the batch I made, you can also sustitute corn flakes for the rice bubbles which would be nice.

Hi Kaz,
I did Tony Ferguson before my op with Dr D, i told him how i couldn't stomach the optifast and he said do TF but it does take longer to work, i think i did it for neally 6 week before my op,
It tastes much nicer and the soups are really yummy also

Hi
Does anyone know if Dr Dolan lets you use Tony Ferguson instead of Optifast (hate the skim milk powder taste)
Cheers

Here you go...for those that still eat bread this looks to be a better option.
The Toast That Tides You Over -
In a study, people who ate rye bread with breakfast were less hungry before and after lunch compared with people who ate wheat. Rye’s super-high fiber content probably has something to do with it. But researchers suspect that rye may also produce a lower insulin response than wheat bread (this would help with hunger), and that rye may have a unique fiber composition that keeps people feeling full longer. |
