I barely think about my band now- very busy with other life stuff. I'm looking forwards to this restriction thing. Been eating well, and lots of snowboarding, hard work, and not too many wines. hope i will pop on again soon

Wow .. I've just come home from a session with my personal trainer. He decided today that I would do every exercise first carrying weights the same as I have lost .. and then doing the exercise at the weight I am now. I don't know how I managed to get around .. and so far I've lost about 15kg which is only a small portion of what I have to lose. It's going to feel amazing when I've reached my goal .. think I will be bouncing off the walls!!!

Hi Marg, congrats on your halitosis, commiserations to your fella. My husband had to get some work done on a car today and invited me along for brekky at our favorite cafe. Since being banded I have only eaten porridge or weetbix or occasionally toast. Well I went the poached eggs option and got a stuckage didn't I. Felt a bit off for the rest of the day.Lessons to be learned.I'm not weighing in again this week until my scales MOVE.
Back to uni for me this week.

Potato skin and grape skin always make me feel ick too! Same goes for apple skin (even though i love it!). Funny how some little things make the band misbehave. I'm excited to report im in ketosis again! Bad bad breath here! lol. Havent had any ketosis symptoms in over 2 weeks! I'm almost excited about this halitosis! lol.
Hope everyone is well!
Love,

Hi Kerrie,
Yesterday i had:
1/2 cup of zucchini quiche for brunch
1/4 cup of zucchini quiche for lunch
1 cup of spag bol for dinner
About 900ml of water (a good day as far as fluids are concerned) - i cannot handle the taste of plain water anymore - tastes terrible and doesnt go down well.
That's a fairly typical day for me, throw in a couple of snack size chocolates sometimes.
Hope this helps!
Marg :-) |

Hi Girls,
WOW, what a difference 1ml makes! I went from 4ml to 5ml last week and it has made a world of difference. I'm now eating in the quantities that the surgeon wants me to eat (all be it not really the right foods yet) The weight has started to move again *yay* am now up to 13.2kg *happy dance* well on my way to my first goal!
How is everyone else going?

Yesterday was my first full day of food after my second fill, so -
Breakfast - 1/2 cup porridge
Lunch - I made 3/4 cup salad and 1/4 cup chicken but couldn't eat it all so had what was left for afternoon tea.
Dinner - 1/2 cup spagetthi and 1/2 cup bol sauce
Supper - tub yoghurt.
Had the dietican today and he gave me a menu plan to help have appox 1000 cals a day and to get fruit etc in. |

I reckon I must be eating too much. My weight has been static for months. I usually have a small bowl of porridge then a bit later black tea. Lunch might be a tub of low fat yoghurt and some Ryvitas.Dinner I eat whatever the family has but 1/4 the size I used to.Maybe a small bowl of pasta, meat and vegs or a chicken wrap. I have cut down on alcohol having a glass or two only on weekends. I snack on fruit. I need another fill I think.

Well for breakfast I normally have either a banana smoothie with some cinnamon and honey or I have porridge depends how I'm going for time.
Lunch is normally steamed vegies with rice but when I go out with my friends on a Thursday I'll have a veal snitchzel with mashed potatoes and vegetables.
Dinner I have been cooking stir frys, curried chicken, shepards pie and casseroles.
I do not snack between meals anymore just drinks and if I do need a sugar hit I have a low fat chocolate mousse.
What about yourself? |

Hi Girls,
I haven't been on much, still no internet at home.
I was really missing the support this week. I just find that I'm obsessing with food too much. I'm not eating badly nor eating between meals but I can't stop thinking about what I will be eating next. It's driving me crazy!!!
Anyone else having the same problem?
Also, Im having my second fill on Friday, I currently have 2mls in and was wondering if I should go another 2 or 3mls?

Hi!
Just checking in! I havent been posting much, but have been checking in on you all daily. I'm a little frustrated by the fact that my scales won't budge even though i eat almost nothing. It's stupid. Im hoping its just my body being stubborn, and eventually it will give in. Patience is a virtue im still cultivating...
We all seem to be fully fledged bandits now with different levels (but finally some) restriction! I'm so glad i have this forum to turn to when i think im the only one on this planet with my troubles!
Much love,

Hey everyone. I had my 4th fill last Tuesday and have been struggling with the amount of restriction that I all of a sudden have. Prior I could eat bread, pasta, all sorts of fruit and had started getting into a bad habit of eating faster again and chewing less. This week pasta is a definite no no and can only get a little bit of fruit down. Today I had my first PB after eating just one bite of an egg sandwich. Omg how awfully uncomfortable... hope to avoid that experience again. I'm now concentrating much more on chewing everything to mush and slowing right down. Also taking a bite of any food and leaving it a min or two before continuing will hopefully cause lots less discomfort if it gets stuck.
On the bright side I'm hoping to lose a bit more now that I can eat a lot less!! (My scales won't work in the mornings atm ... must be too cold for them lol)
Take care

Well done Maybees, the weigh in is looking good. I hate my scales as they weigh about three or so kilos lighter than the docs so I never quite know where I am. Might publish a weight next week. One week since a fill and I can almost eat anything again but smaller quantities. Roll on fill no. 2

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all going well. I have had 3 fills now(not sure how much is in there though!)I am going really well but I am dieting when my restriction goes between fills. The way I look at it is once I lose this weight it will stay off so I am happy to be on a diet ONE more time.I am doing lots of exercise too which I actually like and I am also very impatient and want this weight off NOW!!
Anyone who is not feeling restriction yet don't panic IT WILL COME!! This is a lifelong journey and we are only at the very start. We will be ok. Just listen too your body.

Hi guys,
I can relate big time. I eat the wrong things, i eat too much of them, and despite my bad food choices, this darned weight has the audacity to still cling to me! Ha! I've been quite frustrated this last two weeks. I think i need a tad more fill, but i am at a point where a tad more can push me over the edge. So i have to wait, refocus, and get back on track and follow the rules. I so want to be 75kg before the wedding i have to be bridesmaid in, in 4 wks! So, that's the goal! (And it will make my bmi "overweight", instead of "obese" - yay, psychological milestone!).
Best wishes and positive thoughts to all. WE CAN DO THIS!
