Kasey sounds good to me, I am at the sames stage, just going to solid food from mushies but I find myself going back and forth as I quite like mushies.
This is what I eat,

Brekky: 1/2 cup porridge
black tea
Lunch: chicken and sweetcorn soup
Snack: falafel, avocado tomato s/wich
black tea
drinking yoghurt
Dinner: gnocci bolognese, small serve
bitters lime and soda
Supper: black tea, 1 gylian choc (birthday pres)
water

can anyone tell me what I should be eating now I am on solids.. Should I be calorie counting as well... or can I continue to eat what i was before surgery.. but obviously it would be alot smaller amounts.. just curious..
is it ok to eat

Breakfast
1 weetbix with milk
snack - tuna on cruskits (2)
Lunch - tuna on Cruskits (2)
snack - fruit
dinner - chicken stir fry with lots of veges..

i think I am doing the right thing but my weight loss has stopped..
I cant also drink 2 litres of water.. around 700ml per day. I wish I could skull the water..but the rules says sip... my body will let me skull.. is this OK..

Sorry for all the stupid questions.

I saw my surgeon yesterday for my post op visit. He is really happy with weight loss and I am having my first fill (5ml) under ultrasound in 3 weeks.

Then I have to have 2 days of liquids then back to band diet.

My first fill will be one day off 4 weeks.

Marg - Thanks for the info on the fill, at least I'll know what to expect. Now i'm really scared lol I'm not scared of needles, I'm more scared of not knowing what pain to expect.

Hi everyone,
I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I am having first fill on thursday!
I have been losing weight steadily since op but I think only because I have been calorie counting. I don't have what I would call restriction just been stopping as soon as feeling full at about 1 cup.
Hope everyones fills go well.

Wow - everyone is getting fills at the same time! At least we will all have lots of support with newfound restriction. Karen - it's not as fun as the last few fills - im having to go slow with just water. Hoping its just a little tender from the band site tonight and will get a little better over the next few days. Have been having trouble hitting the 2L of water daily already - this will make it very very hard!

Hope everyone had a good day!

Marg :-)

Hi all. I was banded on 6 may and am getting my first fill tomorrow. How long after surgery did everyone have to wait until they had a fill? I had some complications after surgery and ended up back in hospital, so my surgeon didn't want to do one too early. I feel like i need one now as i'm getting hungry.

Kellie,

Great weightloss girl!! Glad to hear the surgery went well. Sorry so many of us chat it is hard to remember everyone's names.

Here is my little fill run down...

You go in, and lie down on the bed. Now, ive had 2 different people do fills and they had different techniques. One just gets you to lie flat and prods to find your port, then puts needle in. If she has trouble getting the needle into the actual port, she will get me to do a stomach crunch to bring it closer to the surface. The other person actually made me put a pillow under my back to raise my belly, and i had to do the crunch the whole time during the fill. Once the needle connects with the port, you can feel the tubing inside you, and it feels a bit off - like there is an alien within. However, it is not painful. My first fill hurt heaps, and the second a little less, but the last two just have the quick blood test sting and then nothing. So, it's not that bad - takes about 2 mins!

I think the cold weather has a lot to do with making everyone so hungry! Bring on the fills eh girls?! I swear, im not having dinner tonight - im so full from a little soup i had earlier in the arvo! Mental - loving it!

Much love,
Marg xox

I will let you know how it all goes. Where abouts are you having it done?

How often you weigh yourself? I weigh once a week and at this stage have lost 5.4kgs in 3 weeks. Not huge numbers but I'm happy.

Just curious as to whether anyone else has had their fill. I'm having one on Friday and would like to know what to expect. Also does it hurt?

Marg - Thanks for your welcome. I remember speaking to you about 10 days prior to my surgery and I was absolutley packing myself, it turns out that I was so relaxed and calm on the day of surgery that I didnt even have to have a pre-med. It was really strange. I hope all is well with you.

Yes Marg, I think I may have to count calories. Not my favorite past time. I have been so good staying away from bread, alcohol and cake/bikkies but the birthday weekend ruined that.

Hi Nonny,

How are things going with you?? You've been quiet lately - must be busy out there enjoying life eh?! :-)

Fill went good. Feel a bit choked at the moment, sipping my water. It's a bit like that immediate post-op restriction - i feel like i will never eat again!! LOL! So im cooking lentil soup for dinner tonight - i think liquids will be the extent of today's food for me! Yay! Honestly, i think im a control freak and i need to feel that restriction to remember the band is there and that im gunna be thin and hot! The nurse put in 0.6mL, so now im at 7.6mL in a 10mL band, so i should be pretty sweet for a while. Can't really get much more restricted without having no opening at all! I think the chewing will be interesting, coz i havent really been that good at it so far - ahh time will tell.

Wah - that sucks you can't come to the weekend thingy! It would be so awesome to meet up with all you guys! Although, for some of you it will be a bit of a shock to the system - Townsville is nice and warm that time of year!

Marg :-)

And just a thought... if anyone fancies a weekend away later in the year to meet up - some of the bandits from this site have started a small business with weightloss surgery, and are having a weekend for anyone who's interested in weightloss here in Townsville in Oct! I think their website is www.qldwls.com - check it out - would be lovely to meet all you lovely people!!! And think how hot we will look by then!!!
