Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
kaznbrood my appt for a consultation was on the 17th of Nov and he was asking if I wanted to be done before xmas so the wait wouldn't be that long at all! I've booked in a consult with another surgeon too, looks like my needs might just be a bit more "desperate"...heh...will keep you up to date tho.

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Nina, from what i believe its a normal tt, although he doesnt do body lifts. I am certain he said he would be repairing my stomach muscles (i hope).

Can i ask how long it takes once asking to be booked in to actually having it done if that makes sense?

Thanks Nina,

Please keep us posted on how your tummy tuck goes. That is one thing I am aiming for. Do you know how long you are in hospital for?

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Hi Mel, yes he doesn't do a full tummy tuck as such, as I understood, but will get rid of the "apron". Still have to call and clarify quite a few things, I was so nervous at the time forgot to ask every single question. GRR!

Trace 11kg's, fantastic! Keep up the good work :-)

themounseys welcome to the board :-) I'm sure you will like Dr David, he's got a great sense of humor, is a fantastic surgeon and the staff at Maryvale are great! Ummm...Can I give you a bit of advice ...write down all your questions before the appointment....lol...don' t do what I did! Good luck to you and let us know how you go.

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
I think the cost of the tummy tuck varies as to who you are insured through!

I'm with hba and it should be costing $950!

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
It takes a while for the anesthetic to go out of your system, so you will feel washed out for a while, make sure you keep up your protein levels, if you are pureeing food, add baked beans to the mix for protein.

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Hi all in Vic,

I too had my surgery in NSW on the 2nd of this month and still feeling very tired and lithargic.

I work with my dietician and she said that anyone that goes back to work in the second week post op usually just goes home to bed afterwards. I think this will be me because I start back at work tomorrow.

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Hi nuffygirl, I was banded by Dr Chan @ Maryvale in the 2nd of this mth, nearly @ week 2 stage. I am feeling really tired too - I do take vitamins and drinking lots of milk (as much as I can manage)
Does anyone know what the fee for dr chan is for a tummy tuck with private health insurance?? I too will be looking at this down the track :-)

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Kaznbrood, my weight hasn't moved in the past 6 months at all, yoyoing up and down 3kg's. I've now lost 2.2kg's out of my 4kg's by following what one of our RockStar Bandits Julie (s *** pinghannah) wrote a while back: she didn't eat before 4pm and no snacking. I eat once a day and have a hot chocolate at night. Seems to have worked for me! I don't have much restriction at the moment at all, I'm eeeeeeexxtremely sensitive to them so decided it's time to pull my finger out and work WITH the band instead of trying to fight it. I'm still not at the weight I set for myself at the start of this journey but don't think I want to even get there, I'm happy with my body the way it is and really liking what I see in the mirror, minus the tummy and the arms that is!
You can so do it girl, just think about the reward in the end!

Re:Dr David Chan Vic Reply to this message
Hi Kel,

I was there today (Thursday) for my first check up after surgery but wont have my first fill for another 2 weeks late afternoon(a week after your next fill. I am now on mushie food for the next week and then after that I will be on normal food. I have lost 3kgs postsurgery (2 weeks) which Dr Chan seemed pleased with. I am starting to get a but hungry though.

By the way fellow Bandits I was informed today that the next support group meeting will be on Tuesday 24 November most probably at the Latrobe Convention Centre. If you have registered at Dr Chan's surgery (reception) then you will be notified shortly.
