| Well, i must say the Hyatt Regency Coolum Spa is DEVINE! Wow! What a gorgeous place to bring the family and have a lovely restful time. YOu could just leave your car with the Valet and pick it up when you leave. They have a shuttle to take you to Noosa to putter around Hastings Street but there's just everything you could want on site. The staff are just lovely too, the food gorgeous. You know i managed 1/2 a bowl of calamari with lemon aioli because the calamari was the most tender calamari that i have ever had. It was butter soft! :) They do amazing food. Last night we went out for mexican at Montezuma's which also went down nicely with the help of a baileys and milk. I made sure to have Sanan Andreas which is nice and easy. Prawns in a sloppy tomato/garlic sauce covered with melted cheese and brown rice on the side. YUM! So the 37th birthday went very nicely. Which is very surpriseing food wise since i'm suffering from the winter band squeeze and food and i are not particularly good friend because of the cold right now. It cut me some slack on my birthday. :) |

| Wow Hyatt Regency At Coolum, I'm envious. I've often wondered what the Spa was like at Coolum, thanks. I went to Novatel Twin Waters but I wouldn't recommend them, very disappointing but hopefully they've improved since I was last there. |

Hi Nic
Let us know all about your Spa Day when you have and if you think it was great and recommend it, tell us where exactly you had it. Sorry if you have mentioned where before, I haven't read all the posts on here. I just popped in to see how you are going. |

| Hi Lynda, how long have you been baded? I found once I was off the mushy stage that I was able to eat just about everything so I put on the 4kg that I lost in the two weeks after surgery. I was restricted once again after 6 weeks post op which has now been 6 weeks and am eating everything in sight and had no weight loss at all. I hope to get the happy medium with my next fill. Claire. xxx |

Also, i tried Slim Right in my smoothie. Um...NOT a good idea. I was awake 1/2 the night making trips to the toilet and THE PONG was unbelievable. Won't be taking a crack at that stuff again. Just will head straight for the Vanilla Opti me thinks, at least i know it agree's with me.

Well, since my committment to moving my backside has waned recently i thought it time to move myself back into action. I think the plateau was getting the better of me, that and a little thing called "no consequence eating". I am eating whatever i like and not excercizing much but haven't put anything on BUT....haven't taken any weight off either. And really, there is ALWAYS a consiquence even if you can't see it. :) So, onto the 1 egg.5 strawberries, 1/2 a banana milk smoothies to hopefully shift myself off this plateau! Goodness knows i have all the insentive i could ever possibly want. i go to see my plastic surgeon in 18 days (don't want him saying "i can't do much until your saggy area's are completely deflated and they aren't yet") eeekk! I am going to see my mum and sis mid september for the first time in over a year, the reunion in November and looking nice for the first time in christmas photo's! :) TIME TO MOVE!!!!!

Without a doubt Smee but i'm still new to being happy with myself, still at the show off stage. Still loving dressing up and being noticed, not invisable. My self esteem has never been reliant on the acceptance, approval or for that matter, disapproval of others. That's why they call it SELF esteem right? Not OTHERS esteem. :) I had a dear friend who asked me when i got back from my honeymood if i felt complete, i was MORTIFIED! "No" i replied "i was already complete before i even met him". If you're not enough WITHOUT something, you'll never be enough WITH it. If you're not enough without a husband, nice car, nice house, gold medal or size 10 body............you will never be "enough" with these things. I have heard from several others that the mentality of particularly the girls tends to go back to when they were at school, some manage to be adults and remain in the maturity of their years but i have had a number of friends complain that their reunion was just like spending a day back at school. Either way, it should be great fun. There are several people who have confirmed who i am really looking forward to seeing. My self esteem may be very firmly established BUT that doesn't mean that i'm not prone to wallowing in the pool of shallowness of this world that we all wallow in in some point or another. Perhaps a little too indulgent but it's something that i allow myself, just for fun. My self worth was never an issue, it was my hatred of my outer shell that was the problem. I was like an old building that had 7 different colours all flaking and crusty on the outside and i feel like i've just been freshly painted and had a new garden full of flowers put in. :) And you're welcome any time in my little inner sanctum. :)

Hi Nic
I hope you don't mind me hopping in on your thread - I've just been reading the comments about your school reunion. Just an observation - when we're obese we so object to being defined by our weight or appearance, we hate that society rejects us but in reality we don't accept ourselves and don't find ourselves attractive and are full of self-loathing. I just worry we lose sight of this as we become a 'normal' size. Yes, there will always be those who judge and treat obese people differently. But my experience has been most people are accepting of us, certainly as they get to know us. There are many in society who are judged on first appearances - by a disability, the colour of their skin, etc. I think it's a mistake than to go to the other extreme and want and expect people to react to what they see now, because we are happy with it. You'll will receive the accolades and the positive reactions in the short term, but as you maintain your weight people will just accept you for what you have become. The maintenance stage in the long term is hard work too but this has to be achieved without the oohs and the aahs and at some stage your wardrobe will be full and it's just hard slog. No different really to the many around you who struggle, particularly as they get older, to maintain a healthy weight. We have the benefit of our bands, but I know around me friends who were a 12 size now battle to be a 14 or 16 as they age. Their battle is no less worthy or genuine. Don't lose sight of who you were and what was important to you then - regardless of the vision you present now. The majority of the people at your reunion, I believe, would be just as delighted to see you and interested in learning who you've become, what you've achieved in your life, in your role as a mother... Sometimes I think in fact it is us who are much more self-conscious, more aware and more judgemental -whether that's wrapped up in a size 12 or size 22 package. |

| Great, sleepless nights ahead! I spent 1/2 the night mulling all this school reunion thing through my mind and it's still months away. Yes, i'm sad to tell you that i AM this sort of person who mulls everything over at 3 in the morning for a couple of hours or so and then finally falls asleep because i force myself to stop thinking about it and get some sleep. :) My ex might show and that's going to be fun,i know one thing; i will be looking hot banana's. :).............if it kills me. |

| Well none of them have any reason to think i might have had it done. i was only mildly chubby at school so none of them saw me at my worse but as i said, i certainly was "homely". And i'm not any more and they will all have that picture of super plain jane who was a slighly chubby "nothing". |
