| So now i'm seriously thinking about getting the torso lift but the cost is just crazy. Hubby has offered to take me to Europe next year for our 10th anniversary BUT i can't do that AND a torso lift. But the results are SO fabulous! :( It's cheap enough to travel between countries in europe, cheap as chips actually BUT still can't do both. :( He said to me that i should think about which i want more and i can't decide. I have wanted to travel for the longest time. I got the travel bug when i was a child because my parents took me along with them when they went OS and i have never got that out of my system. It's really important to me to do something special for our 10th. I think the trip will win. I can always have just a TT and go on the trip and do the other stuff later BUT...that means multiple surgeries rather than just the one. :( What a choice!! |

| And there's absoloutly nothing you can do about medication having a nasty effect. :( It's a miracle you've come this far considering the meds seem to have been doing everything to counteract your efforts. :( Maybe you're right, maybe this week will be the week! |

Oh Nic you cracked me up laughing with the four months plateau, I've been on 90 kilos for two months and I keep thinking maybe this week I'll be in the eighties, now I know it could even be another two months but at least I can see the funny side.
Somac is good medication to prevent reflux, this is why I was first put on it after banding but since my band slippage was repositioned last year I no longer had to take it. However then I was put on several NSAIDs (non streroid anti inflammatory drugs) so had to go back on the Somac. It's reassuring to know that even though the banding doctor told me so long as I drink plenty of water or eat food when the anit-inflammatories says to be taken with food I won't have a problem but the Somac is like a security blanket to make extra sure I won't have a problem.
Might be worthwhile you considering Somac or similar instead of having to remove fill i.e. if the reflux does come back. |

Hi Nic
Four grand out of pocket, that's not good news for me at all, his price has increased considerably since my quote early last year, I was expecting around $2,000 or with price increase $2,500 max out of pocket. Can't blame him though it's still a reasonable price for such an excellent surgeon and in comparison to some other East Coast surgeons. Darn these medications for slowing down and creating havoc in relation to my banding journey, if it wasn't for them I would have been done in 2006 when it was even cheaper and I actually had the money to spare. |

| Hooray!! FINALLY that stupid scale has moved so for all you poor frustrated lads and lasses who are on a plateau, it DOES eventually break! :) Geez! It only took 4 months! To be honest, i'm not really sure how long it took because i didn't keep a tally of the weeks because i knew it would drive me crazy to keep a week to week tally. I know it's been ages since i lost even a gram! So now i'm at 78.6kg. This is great motivation to get out there and work hard on the diet and excersize. My band has been really fussy the last couple of weeks so that might be what has shifted it. I also had acid reflux for a couple of months which seems to have gone, i have a tiny burn but only 10% of what there was. I was going to get some fill out because every bit of evidence that's coming out at the moment says that reflux is very bad for your body so i wasn't keen on keeping that going. Boy, i feel so much better, that plateau was torture! So, onward and upward (or in my case, downward) from here. :) |

| Went for my consultation with Dr Co c k burn today which was really great. He's such a lovely, lovely man who makes you feel completely at ease without really trying i think. :) I couldn't tell you what he said or did to make me feel comfortable, he just did. Showed me some nice before and after pictures which was great to see. Looks like about 4 grand out of pocket for a TT but if i get a full body lift that will be quite a bit more i think. I'm still a stone off my goal weight and won't get anything done until that's gone to get the best possible result. If i'm paying someone to slice into me and i have to have the pain of recovery and all that palarva then i'd better get the best result! I wasn't going to get anything done until next winter anyway because i didn't want to have to recover in the heat, particularly with the constrictive garments you have to wear post op, i think i would feel claustrophobic! Anyway, really positive experience. |

Well i saw my little sister for the first time in over a year last night and i have to say it was one of those moments. :) One of those delish moments that all bandits wait for. She has put on a little weight, only probably 5 kg but i am now only 4kg heavier than her!!! :) Bless her heart she would never say anything negative to me but i could tell she was shocked and surprised at how much weight i'd lost. I'm a little taller than her so it might seem to her that i look slimmer to her. Knowing my sister she WILL go home and head off to the gym and cut out the junk though. :) You can't beat that ole sibling rivalry though can you? hehehehe. Of course i'm thrilled and i love a bit of competition. I"ll just be happy if we're the same size i don't want to be smaller just to make her feel small (or big, depends on how you look at it). I've always thought my sister has looked fantastic with her size 12 bottom and 10 top. I have always thought she was just the perfect size and i can't wait to get there although the way i'm going it will be a while :). But i have gotten to that happy place now so i don't mind if it takes me another year to loose another stone (which will bring me to a 10 top and 12 bottom). Can't wait to go down to tassie in 3 weeks now.

| I shouldn't complain Peta, really; i get to spend 500 bucks max OR 2 grand at the golf club. :) Hubby is happy the kid chose the cheaper option for once instead of the usual 160 dollar pair of sneakers! :) |

Alright!!!!!! Now that sounds like a PROPER party Mel!!! :)
I'll be there!!! :) (i wish) They don't really have a special room really, just special parts of it. Kind of separate rooms but not completely shut off or anything. It will still be nice i suppose. :) The boy has ordered NO decorations and NO baby pictures, he has a rep to protect. It' s HUGE pub with the Journo's Bar and the Sports Bar and the this bar and that bar etc........ :) I'm sure it will be fine, not quite what i had in mind but it's HIS night. It's so hard for mum's to learn to step back hey? :)

Ahhh Nic... bloody kids! Do you want to come and do my daughters "Las Vegas Nights" party here in October - it is out of freaking control!!!! I love doing parties for my kids, thank goodness my daughter likes me doing them... my son, he wants the dosh. My daughters 18th was brilliant... 190 cross dressed lunatics in a marquee on the tennis court, crazy stuff it was!!!! Hopefully the next one isn't so crazy and only half the guests! We are having a casino night with the whole shebang... roulette, blackjack, poker, dj... can you tell I am a party animal! I am even thinking of a visit from "The King"!
Enjoy the pub, I am sure it will still be a lovely evening. Are you going to get a private room and do something special there? I am sure you can figure out a way to do it with the class you want, even at the pub, you are talented and clever with those sorts of things I am sure. Enjoy... it will still be a wonderful evening for you and your family.

Well, that stupid scale STILL hasn't budged but i'm just going to keep going. I had to schedule my plastic surgeons appt too but that's only 1 week away anyway so no biggie there. Think i might go back on the Lovan, don't think 5 months was enough.
Things to look forward to in the next few months. My little sis is coming up on the 24th for a flying visit. Hubby's best mate is coming in from London the same day so bowling, mexican food and margarita's all round. It's a bit of a tradition now when he comes home to go bowling and then to mexican for a long soak in a bucket of margarita mix. :) Then in the middle of sept i head off down to see my family which will be FANFOOGOOTASTIC! :) Hopefully catch up with some tassie bandits for a quick coffee or lunch. So that's it till the end of sept. I really hope to just loose a couple of KG by the time the middle of sept comes. That would be nice.
