I just saw a show with the devine Ms Paltrow, i have to say; a girl after my own heart. She said if she excersizes for 2 hours a day she can eat whatever she likes and since she hates dieting she'd much rather excersize 2 hours a day and just enjoy food. I like this theory, there's only one problem......so far i can only manage 1 hour! So does that mean i can eat 1/2 of whatever i like? :)

And yet i am one of the one's who constantly has to stop herself from self sabotaging, even though i have been shrunk, i know why i do it and how to stop it! :) And it's self sabotage in itself to not stop it when i know how too! :) But as i said, i have the perfect motivation now, clothes in my suitcase which HAVE to fit in 96 days time. I'm not trying them on before i go and i'm not taking any of them out and i'm not putting bigger clothes in just in case, they just have to fit; simple as that. I'm going to do 1 hour every day until i go at a minimum of 5 days per week and watch what goes in my gob and when i fit into those clothes i will have all the praise and if i don't i will have no one else to point the finger of blame at but myself.

Hey Nic, that is great! Now you are always telling us that the only way to move that weight is to move your but. Why haven't you been moving it? Suitcase is packed, tickets booked. I want a commitment from you that you will move it at least every 2nd day.

Awe shucks Toni, you are the lighter one, how could i possibly be an inspiration to you?! I'm blushing! :)
Thank you hon, isn't it nice to have encouragement from fellow bandits, even when you're not doing so great; they're all there cheering you on and telling you how much they have stuffed up too. These last few KG have been a stop start, on step forward two steps back thing and out of frustration i have often been discouraged and slack and i have to say that this is the hardest part for me. Thanks so much for your support though, i really appreciate it. :)

Well, this IS a red letter day. I might just congratulate myself. I actually walked for 1 full hour for the first time in a LONG time. yahoooo!!! I have those clothes in my suitcase and it's not hard to motivate myself right now with them sitting there, knowing that i have to fit into them, there is no choice, i'm not going to be able to swap them over for some that fit so i HAVE to fit into them. Fantastic motivation!

The best motivation is that i have packed them in my suitcase and nothing else so either i fit into them or i walk around europe completely naked and NOBODY wants that. :) I have given myself no choice but to fit into them come 98 days time. :) I find getting really tough with myself like that is the only way to get me to behave. I need STRONG motivation to do the right thing. I have found the longer you have the band (well, i speak for myself) the more talented i get at manipulating it.

How have you been petal?

Hi Mc! Long time no type! Thanks, i am really stuck weight wise again but i have great motivation now. I've bought all these gorgeous clothes for our trip and i don't quite fit into them and i have already packed them in my suitcase so i have no choice but to fit into them before we leave! :)
I was considering another baby but it just didn't happen and i already have 2 sons so i wasn't desparate enough to go the IVF route. I think i've reached my limit fertility wise, it just wasn't meant to be and apart from that when you have one special needs child it tends so suck a little of the cluckiness out of you. It's MUCH harder work than a "normal" child. Also, i don't accept abortion as a viable option for my life and problems are a reality at my age so all of those things combined just lead me to say, "i can be thankful for the two children i do have" and get on with my life. :)
Cheers, Nic |

This might sound a bit nosy so you don't have to answer if you don't want to. Have you changed your mind about having another baby? I just remember you starting the thread about having a baby before or after banding. It was at the same time I was considering the same thing. Maybe you have already posted something about this subject butt you have so may posts on here I'd take days to get through it all! Congratulations on all your weight loss by the way!!!

:) I'll remember that Toni. Leave space in suitcase and leave money for clothes. :) Size 8???!!!!! Oh i don't think i've ever been size 8. At least you've experienced that....sigh...... :) I just can't wait for this trip i have to say, i'm making an utter pest of myself with my husband but i think he's actually getting excited too. It will be a great opportunity for us to reconect as a couple. You know when you have small children and particularly special needs kids you are so busy focusing on them and forget how to be a couple so this will be just the two of us. I'm gobsmacked that the occassional person is saying to me "oh are you taking the little one?" ARE YOU MAD!!!!!! Why on earth would a couple take their small child on their 10th anniversary romantic holiday away if they could find a babysitter?!!!?!?!?! :) I love him and i will miss him desparately but i am NOT, i repeat NOT; dragging my 5 year old around europe on my romantic holiday. I was once given a very wise piece of advice by a lady when we first got married who said "No matter what,at all costs; NEVER let the romance die. Once that happens you're finished and that happens with the majority of people. The relationship MUST come before everything else". We've stuck to that and occassionally we forget but we get focused again on each other and it's worked nicely. :) Best advice i was ever given about having a successful and happy marriage.

You deserve for all your dreams to come true Nic. Dont go buying ANY MORE CLOTHES Nic, because you will want to buy so much in Italy and France. Back in the good old days when I was so slim (I used to be a size 8 also, when I was 18) I bought so many beautiful clothes, especially from Florence and Paris..... When I went to Italy I packed literally one small suitcase - was there for six weeks, and basically bought new things when I was there and paid for extra baggage on the way back!!!!. Oh the memories..... It is just as difficult getting across the roundabout to the Arc de Triomphe as it is reaching the top - I've done it without getting runover !!! :) Toni

Hiya Toni! :) Long time no type. :)
I also want to do the Arc du Triomphe and i know that's QUITE a few steps. My sister in law said that her calves burned for DAYS after that little experience and she's a fit little size 8! :) This is potentially a once in a life time trip for me so i want to make the very most of it, i dont' want there to be anything i can't do because i'm too fat, those days are well and truely over!! Apart from that i just bought some STUNNING clothes, beautiful quality and design, INSANELY elegant and i won't settle for anything less than looking completely fabulous in them and at a stone overweight right now that's not going to happen. I want to go out to that dinner on the Eiffel Tower for my anniversary feeling a million bucks! :)
Fat people have dreams too! :) And we're just as entitled as anyone to have them forfilled.
Hope you're well little chickadee.
Hugs

I might well end up taking a donkey ride on Santorini Leanne but the whole point for me of walking the 500+ steps is a salute to good health. To say to myself "look at what i can do now because i worked really hard to acheive my dreams." :)
Oh and happy new year by the way.

Happy new year Nic.
Nic instead of putting so much pressure on yourself have you thought of riding a donkey up the Santorini stairs? I've been to Santorini and I truly regret that I wasn't able to take the rare experience of riding a donkey up all those stairs because I felt I'd kill the donkey if I sat on it's back. They even had a cartoon postcard of an obese lady sitting on a Donkey's back with the poor donkey's legs buckling and the expression on the donkey's face is priceless, I bought the card because it reminded me of what would happen if I sat on the donkey lol. I've still got the card. You can walk up stairs anywhere, anyday but how often can you ride up the Santorini stairs on a donkey. A memory you will never forget.
When I was there the friend I was with wasn't into touristy things because she was a very experienced traveller (took overseas trips twice a year) and believed the donkeys were decked out wih beautiful decorations, bells and fresh flowers to attract the tourists. Turns out she met a Greek guy when we were on Mykonos, I did too but mine was a mungrel, she ended up marrying her guy.
She's lived on Mykonis since 1989, Mykonis have donkeys too and she frequently goes to Santorini. She now realises that the donkeys aren't decorated for the tourist at all. They are permanetly decorated even in the villages that have no tourists.

You go, girl! You'll get there Nic, you are the quiet achiever. I've been to Paris many years ago, but not climbed the steps of Santorini, even though I was under 8 stone in the olden days!. What an achievement it will be for you :) Toni
