Hi Gals...here yah are chatting ... Hmmm i seem to share this sensitive to fill, reflux yaddah yaddah thing.
I had 5mls in a 10ml band...and the doc wagged his finger and said, you've never had more than five in..so how about it, let's put in more..so now i have five and a quarter. This quarter has made a big difference and i think the cold weather also tightens things. But now I really have to stop eating at about 3pm...and try to have nothing after that in order to have a good nights sleep.
So like Linda, i'll nut it out and see if i can get rid of some weight, but it's not a lifestyle. In my dreams I think if I can lose what i need to lose this way, then have the quarter taken out again so i can eat more normally.
happy thoughts. jxxxx |

| yes a tad too tight but I can eat. If I get any out and he takes too much I am in trouble so will just live with it. Probably won't get any fill for at least a year. |

I understand your position Linda. You sure don't want to get reflux. I guess it's up to you to decide if it's good enough with the 1ml, weighing up the pos's and the neg's i guess. If it aint broke.....etc.....
Is it too tight for you right now but with no nasty symptoms?

I will be interested to see how it goes. I have a 4ml band so .1ml makes a big difference. I need .1ml out but am loath to muck around with it. I just have to be careful but don't have reflux

| Went to the lovely GG to get some fill out for the trip.Since i seem to be fill sensitive 1ml out is going to do the job. Boy has it made a difference. I think i like this better. I've been no more hungry. I've had a scone and 1/2 with nothing sitting heavy but still leaving me full! So far, i'm a happy camper. :) Now we'll see tonight if this will sort out my need for foul tasting antacids. :) |

| I think so too Linda. At least 1/2 if not all of it. If i put on weight while i'm away on hols at least i have a way to get it off again now. Although i'm counting on all that walking to counteract the eating. :) |

Hi Nic, I think it's a good idea to get all the fill out. Enjoy your holiday and give your gut a rest. Time for fill when you get back.
Cheers

bleeeuuugggghhhh!!! That stuff is aweful!!! But it works. :)
Had a MUCH better night last night, only woke up 3 times and those three times was me just sleeping slightly because i was trying to keep on the ball as far as the acid is concerned. It was very mild and went away as soon as i took another swig of gaviscon. So thanks everyone for your very good advice. :)

| I certainly will Doreen. Going on monday to have some fill out for the trip and will mention the reflux to him too. I was going to have 1/2 of the fill out but maybe the full whack might be a better idea, to help my poor little stomach rest for a few weeks. |

| Well off i raced to the chemist today and picked up my minty fresh gaviscon and i've been eating liquid and very soft food today. This morning my stomach felt like it had been burnt to a crisp. I have to say i had some greek yogurt and the pain stopped pretty much instantly! I knew yogurt was good for the tum and the digestive system but wasn't sure about anything that could curdle. So we will see tonight after i guzzle some gaviscon and have a very early, small and light dinner. |

Hi Linda, Great idea. Can i get it over the counter?
Does is mask the symptoms or end the acid? I've heard of people saying that some just mask the symptoms. Definatly worth checking out at this stage. Woke me up 5 times last night! We are not amused!
If it does the job then it's better than bothering the doc on the weekend. Thanks again. Nic :) |

Hi Nic, I've never had reflux so can't really comment. Can you take more powerful stuff like nexium instead of quick eze? I know there are different things to take but quick eze I would imagine is the baby of the lot.

So i have a question for all you gals/guys in the know.
I have an appt with my doc on monday to get some fill taken out for my trip in 12 days but my reflux is getting worse by the day and one one hand i'm happy enough to wait it out to monday and on the other i don't want to do any damage. I'm guzzling about 6 quickeze per night right now. I don't really want to call the guy on the weekend when i'm seeing him two days from now either. So...what's a girl to do? Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated by the way so feel free to put your two bob worth in.
Cheers, Nic S |

19 sleeps to go! I've got a confession, i've cheated and tried on some of my clothes! :)I said i wasn't going to do that!!!! :) The good news is that everything apart from 2 jackets fits and they fit fine if i want to wear them open. I'm kind of glad i did try stuff on because i feel like i did it! I WILL have clothes to wear in Paris!
The bad news is that the scale hasn't shifted a gram but the clothes still fit (only just). So i'm happy, would be a lot happier if the scale said something different but that's just typical human being, we want it all our way.
So i'll just be grateful for small mercies and move on. :) |

That's what i figured Linda. There's just so much to see. I have friends who said, particularly in paris that they walked 9 hours of the day. They reckon walking everywhere, smoking and eating tiny amounts of really rich food is how french women stay stick thin. :) They figure that you die if you're obese, you die if you smoke............they'd rather die thin. :) Hmmmm....not going to make me take up smoking though and i think it really only works if you combine the three. I've seen plenty of big gals with f a g s hanging out of their mouths who obviously don't combine those three. Anyhooooo...i digress. Yes, i intend to do HEAPS of walking. At the moment i can't really eat past around 5 ideally so it will be nice to be able to sit down at a normal civilized dinner time (between 7 and 9) like the rest of europe.

Hi Nic, no I only went away for a week. If I was going on an extended overseas holiday I would have had some fill out. I have a 4ml band and have .1ml too much in at the moment. It sure makes a difference. You will enjoy your holiday much better without tight restriction. You will probably walk so much that you won't gain anyway.
