Hi Lizzie! So sorry to hear about your sunburn (ouch!)I can almost feel it, i HATE sunburn. Got burnt really badly when i was 10 and couldn't go outside for months because after that my skin would get painful pins and needles whenever i went out of the shade so i empathise with your pain. Not long now hey? :) You'll be a new banded babe soon and doesn't tomato soup with sour cream and stuff sound great right now? Soon!

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
oh, sorry, i didn't answer your question. Yup i just do walking at this stage. I've just started a night job which is quite physical so it will well and truely give me my excersize so i might cut down my walking soon but walking does everything running does but without the knee damage. I'm not saying NEVER run, i'm just saying that don't think you're doing an inferior excersize if you're walking fast because you're not. My cousin is a marathon runner, she runs all the big marathons around the world and her knees and hips are shot, she's had to have 3 surgeries so far and although she's lasted a long time she'll probably end up crippled before long. Mind you she runs to and from work every day and on the weekends as well so it's not the same if you just run a little bit.

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
Swimming is a fantastic excersize for us Lizzie because it not only works EVERY muscle in the body but works you out cardiovascularly was well. So burns fat, tones muscles (less sloppy body syndrome when you're at goal)increases fitness by working ALL the muscles and the heart and lungs! You can't loose! :) What a great idea!
It possibly will make you hungry but what would it hurt to get home if you're super hungry and just have an extra optifast for the day just for the sole purpose of filling the belly and avoiding temptation. Just a suggestion anyway <shrug>.

Good morning Nic!

What is your excersice regime? walking? I have a question....i have a pool around the corner from me, and today i promised my littly that i would spend the day swimming with him, but is it a good idea on the opti? won't it make me hungry?

also, when he goes to school, every day (weather permitting) i am going to do a few laps on the way home...good idea for excersice eh?!

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
I've lost the 2kg that i put on over christmas PLUS 3 more! Insane!!!! I STILL don't like excersize but i'm STILL adicted to the results. I left one form of slavery for another, i wanted to stop being a slave to food and now i'm a slave to excersize!!!!! A girl can't catch a break!!! :) Hey, i'm not complaining, i wouldn't dare. "Oh you've lost 5kg less than a month? Boo Hoo to you!" :) It's like my skinny friends saying "oh i'm so fat at 55kg!" PLEASE!!!! So yes i'm chuffed but my lazy bone is still as healthy as always, i'm just overridding it now. :) Telling IT what to do instead of IT telling ME what to do. :)

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
Lizzie, i joined the ranks of the many and i cheated on opti. :) I think (it's hard to remember back, i suppose i could just not be lazy and look at my diary) it was a mango. Might have been more things but i remember the mango. I gotta tell you though, i'm glad it's over with. :)

Size 12, i still look at the size 12's an think "no way!!!!" I'm not too far off them but i never thought in my adult life that i would be a size 12, the size that i was always brought up to believe that all women were officially perfect at a 12...........not too fat, not too thin. There's a complete freak out party going on in my head everytime i think about it! :)

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
wow, thats great!! i see size 12's at the shop and just laugh, no way....lol

for me, even a size 18 seems unnattainable! i think i've been a 26 for about 10 years. I even have size 26 pants that don't fit, so just to fit into them will be awesome! I'm not sure when to try though, for fear of disapointment!

Tell me Nic, did you cheat on the opti stage? pinkie swear truth.....

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
ha! Gem you might be in luck for the Bikini Shot once i've had a heap of plastic surgery. It might even take the tummy tuck to get into the 12, not sure yet. I look down at my tum and if it wasn't there i would probably be ALOT closer to a 12 but i want to wait till i'm at goal before i think about that because i want the very best result i can get. No point in going through all that unless i have a tummy you can "bounce a dime" off. :) Well, close to it anyway. :)

I see i have found a true ebay friend too. I get all my stuff off ebay. I do all my christmas shopping on ebay because it saves me going anywhere near the shops and i get cooler and cheaper stuff on ebay. :)

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
Gem i still go and look at my size 12 dress, i have added to the collection. I shop on ebay for cheaper stuff, i can get Portmans, Jacqui E and Cue on ebay (new) for 1/2 the price i could get it in the stores for. I have a whole gaggle of 12's now waiting for me. I have to say though that i think i'm about 10kg of a 12 so it's going to be a bit of a wait but it's so surreal shopping for a 12??!!!!!! Crazy! Something i have NEVER done in my life! :) I love just knowing their in my closet and that this time next year i will (all being fair and equal) be wearing them! :) The size 12 i have coveted for my entire adult life. It's going to be completely mind blowing putting a 12 on.

Re:NIC S LAP BAND JOURNEY Reply to this message
Yes Lizzie, my little 4 year old is going to kindy this year, (prep next year) and he adores his big brother. His big brother is rather fond of him too. When the little one first came along my oldest boy was "well, this is going to be the golden haired child because he's your child together and i'm going fade into a distant second place." He was an insecure teenager at the time. I said to him "you are my first born and always will be and anyway, i don't believe in favourites, i have plenty of love to go around for both of you." He was ok after that. It was hard for him, it was just him and me against the world for 10 years and then i got married and he had to give up his throne of man of the house and then another child so there went his throne of only child in the house. It was really hard for him along with all the other teenage stuff he was dealing with at the time.

gemini....lol......that is just the over loving over protective mother in me that doesn't want my baby to grow up!!! lol

I'm sure you will still be cool lol...... as long as you don't wear your pj's when you drop her off, or kiss all over her face in front of her friends!!! or to the extreme.....try to ACT cool at her school lmao!!!!!

i've been a victim of that last one, my sister is ten years older than me and she came to my high school spouting off "sick man" and "totally wicked" 's till i begged her to stop!!!!
