Thanks Maelya! :) I'm pretty chuffed, you know sometimes it's all too surreal. My husband now understands why women have so many clothes though. Geez, you practially need 3 sizes of every outfit! :) So how are you going with everything? It's a slow old road but i reckon it took me about 15 years to get to the weight i was so it's no big deal if it takes me just 2 years to get to my goal.

Woohoo Nic! Size 12! Congrats hun.
I agree, womens fashion is ridiculous. There should be standard sizing in Australia. |

Had a great day at the get together today, everyone who said they'd show up did more or less which was great. I think we ended up with 24 or 25 people. I think we'll go for South Bank next time. The food was gorgeous and we met a few newbies which was really good and i believe a good time was had by all. I got to put on a frock i was saving for next summer when i intend to be a 12, it's a mighty big 12 i can tell you that but hey, a 12 is a 12 is a 12 in my books. :) I'll take it. Silly thing womens fashion. I have a few 14's and 1 16 that are a snug fit and yet a 12 fits? :) Who cares why hey? :) The markets were right around the restaurant which was great too soo we could have a wee squiz around and buy some goodies. Next get together i think in June or July maybe.

Congrats to YOU Ky!!! :) Wow, that's exciting stuff hey? You'll have lots more of those and they keep you going until you get to the next NSV. You can do it, people like Julie and Therese and a few others come to mind who had ALOT to loose and they did it. That's so nic of your mum to kiddy sit while you guys have a break and come and have some posh nosh with us. :) THis place is perfect for bandits because it has perfect size portions for us. I say to my hubby now that we can afford go to posh places because i only have an entree and a dessert! So we love it! Honestly my luv, dont' be nervous at all; you are among dear friends. Everyone is at a different stage and when i was at the beginning of my journey i LOVED the get togethers because i would see the occassional lady who had been banded for a little while and she was looking great and i would get all inspired and really happy that that was going to be me soon!!! And it was!!! :) It's very inspirational i promise and you know what, we are the only people who won't judge you because we've all been judged, we all have been where you are or jolly close and we just look at you and think to ourselves " Good for you girl!!! There are happy clothes shopping days ahead for you my dear!" :) Please don't feel self consious at all, no need. You're certainly not the biggest bandit by any stretch of the imagination (i know, i know, you feel like it). No matter if we started at 200kg or 100kg, we all had the courage to take control of our lives and health and change so that our kids won't watch us and do the same thing. Hold your head high girl!! Take hubbys hand for support and come and have a nice nosh and a good long chin wag! :)

| Ta Luvie! :) The weight has stopped dead again, think i gave the body a bit of a shock with 5kg in one month :). Not too concerned, it stops and starts with me so i'll just wait till my body is in the mood to start loosing weight again. :) As long as i can wear my size 12 stuff in september when i go and visit my mum and sis in tassie i'll be happy. Don't have a choice really, have nothing else to wear! :) Nic |

Well, i've moved the bar and set myself a new timeline. I think i can loose the remaining 15kg that i have to loose in 6 months. My experiment proved that if i excersized every day i lost 5kg in the month,so surely if i maintain a good exsercise program (not necessarily every day) but most days then i should easily be able to reach my goal. So if i set the date to hit goal as the 9th of July that will be precisely a year and 1/2 to loose 50kg. With then the plan to have a chat to the plastic surgeon recommended to me ( have to maintain for 6 months with him which is fair enough). I think a tummy tuck and lypo in the winter of 09 is a good plan. Winter is a good time for wounds not to sweat and the constrictive compression garment to be relatively cool too. Just bought myself some gorgeous coats on ebay too! A white faux fur, a black knit with faux feather collar and cuffs, brown with shag pile cuffs and collar and a long pink coat to go with black jeans and a black turtle neck. Clothes shopping has never been such fun! :)

Yeah, that's what i think Aly. We are the one's who have to live in our bodies, no one else. I just have a gut feeling that 69kg is going to be perfect for me.

Yes its a funny thing this weight loss stuff. For some reason you just know what is size is right for youself.
The surgeons goal for me was 65kgs, when I reached that I had fluid removed, I thought 62kgs would be OK for me, Im currently at 61kgs and really think it dosnt suit me so off to get some more fill removed, there is no reasoning for it other than it dosnt suit me....It all boils down to what your comfortable with.
Good luck your goal is now far off

| hehehehe :) I've bought a couple of size 10's just in case Aly. :) Silly thing is that it's never crossed my mind that a 10 was in my future. I have been bought up to believe that size 12 is perfection for all women and that's so ingrained in my head that i have NEVER thought of going anywhere past a size 12. My family idolized Sofia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and always said that even though Audrey Hepburn was beautiful, she would be even more beautiful with 10kg on. That's just all i have heard all my life, it's all i know. I have a husband who is most certainly turned off by skinny women so it never occured to me to go beyond a 12. I am quite slow with the weight loss though so and plan to stop loosing weight when i get to my goal of 69-70kg. I have to be careful too because of my facial bone structure, women in my family look very gaunt if they get too slim, we have a very defined bone structure....i haven't found mine yet. :) But my mum has warned me about it becuase when my sister lost her weight and got down to a 10 she looked terrible, so much so that she put on 5kg so she could be closer to a 12 and look better. We don't have the features to make it look nice. |

Hi Nic
you never know you may still be running around naked...size 12 may be too big and perhapse you will need a size 10!
If you loose 500gms per week by summer you would have lost a total of 22kgs, which means you would roughly weigh 62kgs which is maybe size 8-10.
Something to think about Nic,I dont know what your goal is but im sure its not far away!

Yeah, i'm very hard on myself i know. It's just that i have always come close with weight but never actually reached my goals and i'm tired of it.
Was banded Jan 9 2007 so 13 months. I started at 119.6kg and am now 84kg. I've given myself the rest of the year till christmas to loose the rest, i have only got size 12's in my cupboard so i have nothing else to wear and i have no choice unless i am to run around naked............and nobody wants that! :)

I can feel your excitement Nic.
Yes, the smaller one gets, the less it takes to move a clothes size.
Hmm...unacceptable emotionally etc...I would love to get to goal this year, but honestly I am still working on at least just shifting weight again, I will be very relieved when it starts moving again. I am moving..so it should follow hey.

Awe thanks Jen. :)
I just can't believe it but i tell you i dont' think i'd deal with it very well if i didn't reach my goal. It's weird but it's not hard when mentally i have accepted that not reaching my goal this year isnt' acceptable to me emotionally. I know this will stop me from sabotaging myself, as i always did before this. :) The hubby is just glad that i'm buying all my clothes from ebay, he reckons this could be costing him thousands instead of hundreds! :) He's known me for 12 years and never known me to have a summer wardrobe and in another wardrobe a full winter one as well, he's never seen so many clothes! :)
