Hi minimee, my GP referred me to Dr Webster but when I rang up for an appointment was told his books were closed and was taking no more new patients. So I'm travelling to Dr Munro in Gosford.

Hi Liz, I'm booked in for the 18th. Nice to meet you. :-)

I also joined a private health fund last november, the 8th to be precise but we're waiting till the 18th to be well clear of the anniversary.

It's getting so close now. I have been thinking about it every day since last september when I heard a lady being interviewed on the radio saying how she was banded and that it's the best diet she's been on because she doesn't have to think about it. This lady was not that high of bmi and wore size 18 clothes and could really relate to that. I thought you had to be morbidly obese to qualify.

Trying to erase the thought from my mind.

Fiona,

Keep your chin up doll, we all screw it up every now and again, just keep trying.

I found for me that if i only cook hubby the foods he loves and I hate, I dont have so much of a hard time with it. Makes it a lil easier not having kids here though.

Keep reminding yourself, each kg you lose, you never have to lose again.

You WILL get there.

I think i just need the willpower to last untill i hit ketosis and i should be fine. Well if i could stick to any diet for more than a day and a half i wouldnt be pushing 120kgs :( Went grocery shopping this morning and blew it big time had pancake, bacon and maple syrup for breakfast and it wasnt even that nice which sucks all the more.
Going to try again for lunch.

Fiona,

Is there any of the alowed veg that you can eat? it might help with the hunger.

I find that if i have upto 5 tea or coffee a day that im not too bad, but you really do also have to drink at least 2 ltrs of water a day, that also helps i find.

Just remember, you will go into ketosis after a few days or so, once that happens you wont be hungry anymore.

You can also buy Ketostix from them chem or online, I find they are a great pick me up test if i feel im not getting anywhere.

They are just a pee test, like a pregnancy test strip.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
this is going to sound nuts but i'm envious that you can both do opti as i can't :( I tried it last year and ended up in hospital with really bad dehydration on a drip and found out i'm allergic to lactose and gluten. I have to use leisa's Secret. I've only brought 1 tin so far to see if it would give me a reaction and so far not too bad. i started yesterday just replacing breakfast and lunch. I'm finding myself starving though so am constantly sipping water to distract me from the hunger.
Alas i just wish i had more options. like a soup or a bar that i could pop in my purse if i had to go out. Oh well it's still very exciting though

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
I love the choc shake, I generaly have the straw when I need something a bit sweet as I find it to be very sweet, but I love them both.

I'm so glad I dont have a sweet tooth, if I did my problems would be way worse then they are now, at over 200kg, that is definatly NOT what I need lol.

I think about my surgery every day and every night. I know what you mean about daydreaming about what you will look like in 12 months time, i find myself doing that a lot... excitingly scary lol

Bring on the new us!... This is going to be such a wonderfull new life for us all. So glad we can do it together on here, we will all need the support at sometime.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
Thanks for the welcome Liz....
I did have my first choccy opti today and it was OK. I didnt like the strawberry at all, which is strange because Ive tried other shake diets before and preferred strawberry. The choccy one I found really rich, which is good because I do have an extremely sweet tooth...Hence why I am here in the first place eh!

I try not to think too much about the surgery yet, but I do sometimes daydream about what I will look like this time next year......

I have lost piles of weight before, but have never been able to keep it off, so I know how i will feel after I lose weight, and I am so looking forward to it!

Nice to meet you.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
For me it will be a lot longer before anyone starts to notice a weightloss as im over 200kg at the moment.

I think what im looking forward too is just being able to do basic every day things more on my own, with no help from hubby or anone else, been able to feed my cat, not have hubby do it (strainge one I know lol), washing walls and general cleaning again... god im weird lol... no one ever cleans like I want it, I get a rush from cleaning.

Wonder if they can do a brain adjustment while im there lol

ooo the biggest ones would be, no more heat rash and buying clothes from a real store. I havent done that in about 8 years... that would be the best.
