When you feel a little better maybe you can research the possibility of getting your band elsewhere, even in another state. | Hi P1xie, I don't weigh myself on a regular basis, but i don't think ive eaten any more than usual, i think my regular weight gain is almost 1kg per month anyway, has been so for the last few years, which is when i completely gave up on the yoyo dieting. If only i'd know about banding back then! I always thought this kind of surgery was super expensive and only for the rich, then my GP suggested it one day and said it didn't cost too much if you had health insurance, so i looked at the prices and joined a fund. I am going to visit my sister on the sunshine coast in queensland for 5 days, just a short break, but will be going back for 2 weeks at christmas. I havent had a holiday since last Jan so I am looking forward to it. I'm sure you will love your holiday period also. Jade |

| Hi P!xie, thanks for asking, life has been CRAZY!!! Lots of things going on in my life right now, but I still lurk around here every day at least twice. Once in the morning and once late at night. My surgery is still going ahead, even though I got my Anaesthetist quote and it shocked the hell out of me. I have to go in for a Gastroscopy two days prior to my surgery so the bill for both is $1400. Nearly as much as the bl oody surgeon. Oh Well, I can claim about $400 back. | 0307 am - can't sleep. Thinking of you Liz. My heart really goes out to you! Love P1x xo Jade Babe - we will do it together, our stats are similar - I'm a real shortie - 156cm. Unfortunately, my weight has been going up, up and up over the past few weeks (ever since I knew I was having this op). I am too scared to look at the moment but I think I may be in triple figures!!! Like you I would love to get down to the 60kgs, but to be honest, I cannot believe that would be possible. I just can't imagine how I am going to stop my love affair with food (my husband has always said 'I make love to my food' - I just love it so much). Lucky Jade - holidays!!! Where are you going (if you don't mind me asking)? I have the whole of January off. I can't wait. I have been saving all my holidays since my son was about 2 for when he starts 'big boy school', as we do not have any family back up to assist with all the school holidays. He starts 'big boy school' next year so I finally get a decent holiday - 24 Dec - 02 Feb!!! Very exciting! I hope to be a new woman by the time I return to work in Feb 09. Enjoy your hols Jade. | Hi Liz, sorry to hear about your surgery being canceled, that is absolutely terrible : P1xie I am starting opti the day after you for one week and 6 days, i get back from a holiday late at night on the Monday so will be starting the Tuesday instead I'm 159cm and 115kg, although my doctor's scales are 3kg more than mine, so I'll be going by mine :p I am hoping to get into the low 60's as a goal but will see how things progress. |

| Hi Pos, We all love our little C bear. I worked with her in the MPO office and now she has gone into town. Miss her heaps!!! Well I'm 5 days ahead of you but I have to do Opti for 4 weeks!!! I start 27 October, this is going to kill me. I used to live around the corner from where you are being operated on. What do they say 6 degrees of separation.... I am going to persevere with APRA after all it isn't as though my super is doing any good being in super at the moment. I have always salary sacrificed into super so I'm kind of ahead in that department. This was something I pointed out to APRA. Anyway, fingers crossed it does get approved. Did Dr Mitchell advise you when you will be having your first fill? I have an appointment at the Prof's rooms tomorrow so I am going to try and arrange my fill appointment then as it will be due the week before Christmas. I was going to wait until after Chrissie but what is the point in that. Do you mind if I ask how much you have to lose? You sound very much like me. Everyday I say I'm starting Opti or I have Opti for breakkie but then I end up pigging out bigtime. Rock on November. Love, P1xie xo |

| Dear Lizzie, I am so, so sorry to hear your news. I feel like crying myself. That is so not fair! How can they do that to you? I wish there was something I could say or do, but I know there is nothing. I would be absolutely gutted if my surgery was deferred or cancelled. You are in my thoughts and prayers sweetie. Try not to drink too much or else you are going to be feeling really disgusting tomorrow. Ok, do the crying today and tomorrow pick your self up and make the calls that you need to make. Think positively and make this happen. We are all here for you. If you need anything at all, just sing out and please stay with us in the November thread, we need you and we love you. | hi liz i am in queensland and i was supposed to have mine on the 12th sept and 1 week before it was cancelled cos my doctor went away and with all the cancellations of elective surgery, i had been on 2 weeks optifast and booked a hotel in brisbane because we had an 11 hour drive there and my husband took holidays to be with me and then i got a phone call cancelling it. i was like you i was devistated, and upset, i waited 5 weeks and never heard anything and then i rang my doctor and he rang the hospital and spoke to the surgery co-ordinator and then she rang me and booked for the 7th november i hope i am not cancelled again. i like you probably have been going great on the optifast and then a set back .... i feel for you liz... i know what you are going through, hope you hear something soon deb | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Oh Liz I don't know what to say...you've been working so hard. You poor poor thing, how dare they cancel you at this late stage. Tell me who did it and i'll go punch them for you (it might take a few days to get there but I would do my best). Have a few big drinks for me and kick some things and everyone will understand why!! | I dont know where to start, i cant stop crying... My surgery just got canceled! As far as they can tell me, it MIGHT be done next year, the hospitals are totaly booked and they have no idea when it will get done now... I getting out of here for a few days, I'm gonna go get beyond drunk, dont care that its still morning, i feel like total sh!t and am mad at the world right now... more so me for getting like this is the first place.... arghhh i hate everything. I will be back and i will still be part of the november thread if thats ok... I'll still support veryone i can with everything.... just need to walk away right now. Liz scr3w Opti... | P1x Yes we do have a mutual friend in C. And you are right I am a tad crazy LOL. Sorry to hear about APRA, I didnt worry about applying to them my hubby would have a heart turn if I even mentioned using the super. I have just saved the money its be a long and arduous task but I have made it. Im due to be banded on Nov 29th, would like it earlier but need to save up so I am happy with the date, only thing is I will be on mushies for christmas LOL. |

| Good luck with the weigh in Liz. I will be intersted to see how you go as I am only a couple of days behind you on starting the Optifast. Today is number 6. Mind you I just cheated and tried a Celebrity Slim bar for brekkie instead of the Optifast...big mistake. :) |

| Hi Novemberites, I hope youre all bright and bubbly this morning! P1x, I baked and ate heaps, the men in the house were so excited to come home to new freshly baked food each day! And the meals I cooked too, each was like the last supper lol. I also ate takeaway food heaps! I think it seems pretty normal in most people to do that!! :-} I hope you like the new name, thought it suited the new me! Beck |

| Thanks for the tips Liz and Bell - looks like I've been busted. I sent an e-mail to Beck earlier today, venting about APRA, and I did cut and paste some of it over to the thread. All the best for tomorrow Liz. You are doing a great job. Any weight you have lost, I can report I have found it!!!
