Hi Ladies
it sounds like a lot of us are at that point where our weight loss becomes a struggle. This is when a support group becomes helpful. here in Brisbane we have monthly meetings at a Coffee Club. I find it helps me get inspired again. There are some of the long timers who can give you a boost or support.Even the newbies can then spur you on again.
Go back through all the literature you were given pre-op. Are you lapsing into bad habits again? Do you need just a little bit more fill or to fine tune your diet with your dietician. Talk to your doctor.
There is thread on this site called Marion's weight loss plan. (I'll try to bump it forward)She has some good advice.
We should be aiming for 1000 calories per day. it might be worth while writing down everything you eat and adding it all up.
I was thinking I might do Tony ferguson for a week to see if that kickstarts my weight loss again.
But don't give up hope.

Debra

Hi Minimeeepc

I am sorry to hear you are not pleased with your weight loss and I know it can be very hard work at times but try to think of it as 14kgs being quite a bit of weight. Think of how heavy 14kgs is when you have to carry it around with you. It is quite a bit and something to be proud of.

Keep up the good work, it's not a race, just keep doing what you can to help yourself.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
I was banded on the 25th November and have only lost 14kg. 7kg of that was preband.
I am mighty disappointed in the fact that if I want to lose ANY weight, I have to still diet and exercise.
I have knuckled down the past 2 weeks, cut out all junk, eaten well and lost very little.
I am trying so hard not to see this as a complete waste of money, and now I cant even enjoy my food anymore cause if I eat too fast or too much, I have to throw it up or I am in pain.
I have 60kg to lose so 14kg seems like complete waste of time to me.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
Hi Needtobeslim,

I was banded 16th October and have only lost 17 kilos plus 4 kilos prior to the op = 21kilos down. I was never a huge eater and my portions were 'normal' size and that is why I think it is taking longer for me. I do eat less than before, but not as much less than people who had bigger appetites than me prior to the op (if you see what I mean).

I know it is very slow, but I am still 17kg lighter than I would have been if I had not had the op. I need to lose 40k so I figure I am almost 1/2 way there in nearly 7 months. So in 2 years (the time I allowed myself for this project) I should be where I want to be.

Not everything is better because it was achived fast!

Good luck and stick with it.

Congrats Farrynasha

Well done on 34kgs!!! Six months has sort of sneaked up on us. I was banded on 21st November so in 2 more weeks will be my bandiversary!
I have lost 21kgs but for me that is 2/3 of my goal. I should lose another 10kgs to be at goal. I haven't lost anything for the last 4-5 weeks. But we are moving interstate and that has been stressful. I am starting to feel hungry again but don't know if I should have a little bit more fill before I move. I don't want to be over restricted.

Hi Renae,
Congratulations on a great achievemnt in 6 months. I hadn't realised it had been that long either, I guess that means mine was yesterday. I have lost 34kg's and feel great. The coments have started to come which is really nice and helps with the motivation. getting to double digits will be so exciting and you are so close! I am still a long way from that but am determined I will get there, one kg at a time!

HI Renae
Congraulations on your 6month anniversary!! Well done on losing 30 kg!!
Try not to think of it as a long road but a wonderful journey. I agree with you about the band being a wonderful thing. It's a shame we can't send photos in this forum. It would be great to see how beautiful you look.
keep up the good work and remember we're always here to give you support or congratulate each other on our achievements.

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
Morning all,

Well, today is my 6 month Bandiversary :o) I can't believe how fast it's gone. Sure doesn't feel like 6 months.

I have so far (touch wood) had a very easy journey, I was hoping to crack the 30kg loss today, but didn't quite get there, 29.6kg gone forever, and I'm beginning to feel like the woman that I've been hiding under all my fat for so long. This has been the best decision I have ever made in my life and I'm so happy that I have my little band friend, i LOVE it!!

I'm almost halfway to goal, still a long road ahead, but now I KNOW I can do it. 2.4kg to go, and I'll be back in double digits, somewhere I haven't been for about 8 years.

Thanks for listening :o)

Have a great day.

cheers,
Renae

Yippee ladies - guess what I am finally starting to feel some restriction after my last fill this week (another .4mls which takes me up to 9mls). I've even had two pukes! Miss P1x is going to have to learn not to be such a piggy! Have a great weekend everyone! Love, P1xie xo

Thanks for the run down of band camp P1x, it is great to hear that you had such a good time and that it has inspired you, unfortunately for me, the next camp is during hockey season, and I wouldnt be able to do it.
I can imagine you having a good giggle! :-)
How much does that camp cost?

She also gave us lots of hints on what we should be eating and the brands we should eat. Have a great day everyone!

Love P1xie xo

Ps - hey maybe some of you could use your stimulous money to pay for the band camp in July. If you are thinking about it get on to Andy straight away because there are only a few positions left - www.bandcamp.com.au

Re:Any November 08 Banders? Reply to this message
Good Morning all, Well as you know I went to Band Camp last weekend - it was fantastic and it has so, so turned my head around!!! I had such a wonderful time. I was lucky enough to hit the jackpot and was in a room with three lovely ladies. I tell you I have not laughed so much in such a long time we spent the whole time in fits of laughter. It was great because I was with like minded people and it was wonderful to be able to openly talk about my band. It was very inspiring - we were given presentations by a dietian, phycologist (I so need one (and my apologies I can't spell))and a stylist. I came away totally inspired. So much so that I have already booked myself on to the July camp, as I want to keep this momentum up. Monday morning I was on the phone hunting down someone for my head. I would love to be able to see the woman at the camp, however, she is based in Frankston which is the other side of Melbourne (at least 2 hour drive). Also, I booked an appointment for another fill (I obviously need one) and I had my first personal training session last night. I have discovered I love boxing. The good news for the interstaters is - they are planning on conducting the camps in the Gold Coast and Sydney (but it is only in the planning stages at the moment). An added bonus for me was my work ahololic husband was forced to spend time with my son and they had a lovely weekend bonding. It's all good - I thoroughly recommend it. Oh and things I learnt from the dietician (she was really great and works with Andy who has lost about 60 kilos I think, she is also the mother of 2 sets of twins). The best vitamins for us are - Natures Way Platinum Pregnancy tablets (oh I can't remember the full name let me know if you can't find them - they are in a pink box) and Iron Melts which are made by Douglas Pharmaceutials (they are iron tablets which taste like a lolly, they melt in your mouth and do not make you constipated).

My band likes nothing but soup, mushies and pretty much any kind of junk food.

My band has been very tight for the last few months (the way I like it), but the last couple of weeks has become unbearable, has anyone noticed their band becoming tighter as the weather cools down? I am booked in to have some fill removed tomorrow and cant wait to eat some real food.

Every time i have cauliflower it doesn't seem to agree with me,regardless how soft or mushy it might be. But I'm not giving up. But it's weird, i have no problem with mushrooms (cooked, of course...don't really like them raw)
