| Hi I had my surgery on 5/11/08. Op at Southern Highlands Private Hospital. I was on the Optifast for exactly 2 weeks prior and lost 7kgs and as at today (25/11) I've lost 15kgs. Dr found a hernia when he operated so I think that's taken me a bit longer to recover but all is good and I look forward to the future and buying some smaller sized clothes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Minime I get banded on Friday so I know how your feeling. I am also scared sh%$less. But I figure I made this choice with a lot of research and thought. So now I am not looking back or sideways. | Hi All. Well it's been one week banded for me, most of the pain is gone and bruises starting to fade. Have slept straight through the night last two nights which is so uncommon for me - usually up for the loo at least once! Have been having 3 or 4 meals a day of Up'N'Go, soups, yoghurt and blended fruit. Have lost 2kgs. Dressings - the top waterproof ones have come off but the steri strip ones are still on although lifting in the corners...how long did others keep theres on? I think it's the nature of this end of the year... lol Right now you're probably in surgery so just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and trusting all went well with the Prof. It will be great to meet with you in Jan - hopefully by then you'll be well & truly feeling excellent! | Good Luck Minime, you will be fine. It will be over before you know it, then you will really start to live! Dont forget your chap stick, it is the most important thing, after surgery your throat will be dry and your lips chapped, and you will only be able to sip water [50ml an hour].
