| I drank alcohol on the weekend, maybe 2-3 glasses over a 2-3 hour period (it's hard to tell when people fill your glass up before you finish one), it had the same effect as normal and i didn't feel any different. |

Yep, I agree - one week for the waterproof dressing is what I was told too.
Alcohol, anyone had any yet? What is the rule here, a friend asked me today when I could have a drink and I didn't really know, I didn't think I would for the first four weeks but what about after that time? |

Hi Sonya
After all you have been through try hard to have positive thoughts. Remember why you made this choice to be banded. I was told that I might have feelings of being low so I have been keeping a diary since starting optifast. When I am feeling sad and sorry for myself I go back and read why I decided to be banded. This helps. I got banded last Friday 28/11 and had some gyno work done at the same time. My surgeon also found a large ahernia that had to be removed from the top of my stomach so my recovery is a bit slower than hoped. I feel for you very much. There is no fun when your in pain. Can anyone tell me when should I take my waterproof dressings off. I cant remember what the doctor said. All the best in your recovery. Keep us informed. Take Care Grace |

Thanks BB! I love the fact that you are so loyal to your hubbie (mind you - I had already worked that one out), however, I really don't think you have any idea about the amount of attention you are going to receive when you lose your weight!
Please do give your love to Liz!
Pos - I hope you are traveling well! Thinking of you too hun!
Sonya - I'm feeling a bit like you today! I must be coming down from my high! I think I've been slightly over doing it a bit. Get plenty of rest, take it easy and remember that yes we are here for you! I figure there were bound to be good days and bad days. It will be worth it in the end! Keep your chin up hun!
Enjoy the rest of your week everybody!
Love, P1xie xo
PS - This is completely off the track, however, I am thinking about purchasing an 'Elna Press' (for the ironing) - does any one have one? Any comments/opinions would be appreciated! |

P1xie, youre too sweet!
It doesnt matter what attention I get when I lose my weight, the man beside me at this weight is the only one I want!
Pos, glad to hear youre ok and you will be feeling better than ever before you know it!
Sonya, hopefully you get better soon, sounds like you have had a hard time of it!
I will be dropping in to see Liz next Wednesday P1xie, and will let her know youre thinking of her

Hi Novemberites
Well it's December now and we have all pulled through and started this journey of ours! I've been popping in most days to read the comments but haven't always had something to add. Anyway I'm two weeks banded today, still on liquids for another two, although will see my surgeon on Thursday and I'm hoping he will let me have mushies after that. All is going well; went back to work today and went really well, I thought I would get tired easily but my soup, yoghurt and Up 'N' Go did the trick. Have lost 3kgs, thought I might have lost one or two more but ah well as they say slow and steady wins the race. Hope everyone else is healing well and starting to see some results. Cheers Pilbara |

Hi Sonya,
Sweetie my heart really goes out to you - you have had a really bad trot. I hope you don't mind me saying this but has your surgeon offered 'trauma' support/counselling for everything you have gone through and are still going through? I have just been banded for a second time. Unfortunately, my first experience (back in 2001) was a horrific experience and it basically took me 7 years to get over it. This is a really difficult time for you because you would (like all of us) have had such high expectations of this surgery and it is not turning out anything like what you expected. You really need support at this time. If there is anything we can do for you please sing out but please do seek some form of counselling as well. We are here for you but unfortunately we are not professionals. Take gentle care, P1xie xo |

hi all,
i had my band on 21 nov and after a week of liquid soups .. i've been naughty and gone to solids.. i've been reading everyone's stories and feel bad that food still consumes me.. i was content with soups for about 4 days but now i'm back to eating solids.. and i don't feel any restrictions.. other than the cuts on my tummy i don't feel any different.. although im scared that i might block the band passage.. does anyone else still struggle with food?

Hi eljendi
So sorry you're feeling low and had all those extra problems to contend with. I was banded the day after you and feel quite ordinary but just had vertigo and nausea to deal with.
I'll send you good thoughts tonight and hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.

Huge congratulations to you Pos. Each day gets better and better - easier and easier! It is totally weird not having our heads totally consumed with the thought of food!!! It really makes me realise just how much time and energy I wasted on 'food'. Take it easy for the next few days and we will 'chat' soon!
Hey I miscalculated this morning - I've actually lost 11.6 kilos!
Love,
P1xie xo |

Hey P1x
I came home this pm sore and tender, but not interested in food or fluid at all, which is very new and strange to me. Feeling glad it is all done and looking forward to my new adventure.
Lost 7kgs on optifast so couldnt be happier with that.
Hope all is going well for you and looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Dear BB, Ummmm I think you are going to be in for a little bit of a shock when you lose your weight. La, la, la - my little friend from the country - I think you are going to be getting a lot of attention from the opposite sex - you just don't realise it!!! I hope your hubbie doesn't have any insecurity problems!!!
Lizzie - we are all praying for you. If anyone deserves a band it is you and it will happen. I know and we will all be here for you - just as you have always been here for us!
Love to all and enjoy the rest of your day! Love, P1xie xo |

Shucks P1xie, you make me blush luv!
FYI people P1xie is a hoot, and I think she exagerates!
I have posted in the weight loss thread, but for a quick stats update, I have lost 25kg, and have 6.5 ml in my band.
Things stalled for a while until my last fill, I have some restriction, but will get another fill on the 10th Dec. I go to Traralgon tomorrow to see my surgeon, it just for him to make sure all is well really, he still cant find the port, so he wont give me more fill! Of course it gives me an excuse to go shopping shopping shopping :-}
I had a bourbon the other night, wow, it went straight to my legs! I have come to realise I wont be drinking as much Christmas day as I did last year, (4 bottles of wine)! It makes be feel so full, I recon I will have one bottle of Riccadonna with Mum, and that will do me!
I love the fact that food doesnt consume me any more, I dont think about it all the time, and I am walking every day and really miss my walk if for some reason I cant go.
Last but not least, congrats all the Novemberites on getting banded, and thinking of Liz who missed out, all cross your fingers she gets a Jan date!!
Good to see you joining in with us p1x!
Thinking of Pos
