Hi All,Some humour for the day.

Making a baby !

The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi all

I'm back from Daylsford. The farm house was cute but no mod cons. the open fire place was the only form of heating in the whole house. So we would sit in the little lounge room, all 9 of us, with the fire going and the door shut. Then when you moved out of the room it was freezing. Luckily the days were ok, and we went to town during the day. It was very relaxing and the company was great.

I don't find out my biopsy results until the 21st when I see Richard again. I suppose if it is anything nasty they will ring me sooner? Until then no news is good news.

Shaz and Mandy so good to hear from you both, sorry to hear you are both unwell, hopefully on the mend. Shaz you are a naughty girl..... he he he snort he he he ....... good to see you haven't lost that sense of humor :)

Terri Mwa Mwa Mwa

Garry take care of yourself and rest.

Sue I would get a second remote and num chuck. If you play the Wii sports you use the remote as the raquets and the num chuck when boxing each other. Just makes things easier with the kids.

Well I'm off to unpack.
Take care everyone
Hope to be there Monday

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Sue,

I have super Mario galaxy, which is a great game, although time just flys by you. I have a 5 year old nephew, so I thought I would have a go at it, so I could show him how it works. Probably a bit redundant, as he is better on his Nintendo DS than I am, and he will probably pick it up a lot quicker than I am. It is a 1 player game, but a second player can help player 1 if they have a second remote.

You are right about the numchuck thing. It all depends on the game. Some don't need it at all, some must have it, and won't work without it. I have no idea how the accessories work, I only have the standard stuff that came with the console, and I purchased the Wii Fit, but I don't have any kids who will be fighting over who's turn it is now.

I would think more 2 player games would need the second remote than the second numchuck. In the sports games, only the boxing needs the numchuck.

I suggest checking out the games as you buy them

Hope this helps a bit, and hasn;t totally confused you

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Thanks for that Jo. I suppose we would be better off with multi player games, so both kids could play together. I presume you need both a numchuck and remote for each player, or does that vary with the game. I can see the reason to have two numchucks, but I'm not sure about the remote, as I don't know what it does.

Cheers
Sue

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Sue,

it depends on what games and things you want to play. If you only want to play 1 player games, then what comes with the Wii is fine. If you want to play multi-player games, then you will need one for each person

Hope this helps...

Question to Shelly and other with Wii's. Do you need a 2nd numchuck and/or remote? I have lay-byed one for Christmas, along with a Wii Fit, and didn't know if I needed to get the extras as well.

Sharon,

So good to hear from you.... I have no fill ena din a week we strt the fill process and hope the distension has gone away, I thry not to think if the alternatives at the moment - but it does pop into my head every so often. Good to see you haven't lost you wicked sense of humour Sharon!!

Erina,

I have some clothes you might want to check out Monday after the meeting. I usually go for the fish options when eating out - and if it is grilled fish I request it to be "rare" - ie not dried out.

Craig is well, busy getting The Full Monty ready for the stage in September and had strted a new job and seems much happier. Maybe that will bring pasta back on the menu!

Oh well off to put washing on the line

Shelly, how did it go with the biopsy? I had to laugh when you mentioned about a baby in there - thought your hubby might need reminding of where to put it apart from your ear!!!! Oops naughty me! On a serious note - hope it's all good and keep us posted on your progress.

It seems like the whole gang is in turmoil at the moment with this problem or that eh? (I think Terri, Craig and Sue are the only ones without issues! but maybe I haven't gone far enough back on thread to know who else!)

Erina, you're finally feeling restriction!!! Welcome to band world!!! Just take it very slowly and a little hint - happen to put too much food in your mouth break it down and swallow only 1/2 of it and then pause and swallow the rest. Take care xxxx

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hey everyone
It's been ages since I have been on and I have only just read this page - as you can see it's very early in the morning and I am propped up in bed with a patch over one eye (but not wearing glasses!) I've had my second eye cataract surgery done yesterday and this morning will go back for patch to be removed and drops inserted and hopefully after the healing I will have close to 20/20 vision as I had lens implants also.
I have been out of action with so many things happening over the last 2 months with my mother-in-law being very sadly missed and my own mum has come good after her heart attack, have had issues with band (psychological) but getting sorted out and now on holidays (but haven't done much as I haven't been able to see properly as had 1st eye (reading)done last Fri and have felt out of balance all week with my other eye (long distance) not being good. Anyway all is good from here on in (the only thing being I think my short term memory is getting worse now!!!! as I can't remember who I have replied to in my emails and on this post!!!)
Terri, awwww I'm sorry about your little doggie - hope you aren't feeling too sad without her - heaps of hugs and cuddles luvvy. xxxxx
Philippa, geeeeezzz what can I say? My thoughts are with you and hope everything turns out for the best - cyber hugs xxxxx.
Garry, seems like you will be having your gall bladder removed matey, the soooner the better! I had mine out about 6yrs ago after suffering an enormous horrific attack (actually thought my back had broken during my sleep as I couldn't even sit on the toilet and had to shuffle to walk - one of the worst painful episodes I've ever had. So you will feel so much better once it's out. In the meantime I'm sure you know to avoid fatty foods as the g/bladder don't like them! Take care and hope all goes well. xxxxx
Mandy, hope everything is settling down for you and your family now. Sad time - how is your hubby doing? Also how is your reflux going? xx

Hi Terri

Apparently the tooth fairy came to our house, which surprised me to, I certainly had nothing to do with it!

Must have been a different tooth fairy to our usual one, as we have never had a male tooth fairy come for our kids teeth before, he must specialise with visitors teeth only LOL.

Erina - I usually go for reasonably soft stuff when out, just to be on the safe side. Lasagne, other pastas, fish or soups.

Cheers

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Erina,

I order soups some times but also look for the chicken, fish (unfortunatly only battered grilled is to dry and gets stuck) pasta, and sausages (be carefull of the skin).

If I find myself at one of those 3 coase type meals just a bit of each course and send the rest back. Remember it is always OK to send back what you don't want or need. Always look at the kids and seniors menus, I find if I tell them I can't eat a big meal because I have the band or if you like what ever excuse you can think of they mostly give what I ask for, I usually tell them the price isnt the issue just the waste.

But most important as Terri said chew chew chew.

Regards to All keep well.

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Sue,
So where does the tooth fairy go ?????

Erina,
I have discovered some really yummy soups, when I have
been out, something that I think on the menu sounds really
bland and boring, can turn out to be so tasty !!!!! You can
always and garlic bread or whatever, and play boats in your
soup to fill you up more.....then if you can fit it in, you
can have dessert, as most desserts go down with no problem,
then at least, you've stretched out nthe meal and you feel
satisfied. I find pasta is also a good aternative when
eating out, and I have been known to order veal scallopini, pick at the veges and the sauce, and really
enjoy that as well!
Whatever you eat.......just chew, chew, chew.

c ya Monday

Re:Knox Hospital bandits - Melbourne Reply to this message
Hi Erina - I tend to order soup when out if it is on the menu. next option would be lasagne or something else very sloppy. I know it is against the rules but I have found by bitter experience when i am eating out that i have far more problems with food getting stuck. Usually I am out socially and having fun and the people i am with know i am banded so it shouldnt be a stress thing. I have come to think it could be that i just done concentrate properly as i am eating/talking/laughing so soup is the way to go. Of course having a bowl of soup allows enough space for the pavolova as desert, how i wish pavolva would get stuck and teach me a lesson.

Hi everyone,

Mandy - nice to hear form you, I hope everyone is well in your house. I have been thinking of you.

Sue - I was wondering how the party went!!! You can pass on to Nic that she has a fan! Gracie just loves her! We will have to catch up like that again, it was great. I know what you mean about the pastry, I can't handle sausage rolls anymore. And you are right, it is a blessing in disguise.

Garry - you poor thing!! I suffered for a long time with gall stones, as I was pregnant at the time and the pain is excruciating. I hope you get your gall bladder out very soon. It is much the same recovery as the band op.

Shelly - I hope you get your neck thing sorted soon, what is the next step from here?

I was wondering if I could get some suggestions as to what people order when they go out to eat. I dont want to waste a meal with an uncomfortable blockage and I still want to be able to enjoy something!!!!

I will be at the meeting with bells on as I can foot loose and child free next week, yiiippppeeeeee! Hope to see lots of people there.

Morning all

Haven't been on for ages although have tried to pop in for a read every few days. Things here are hectic and I haven't been very well but seems most of us have been suffering with one thing or another.

Shelly - ouch!! Hope it's sorted soon.

Terri you poor thing having to cope with your little dog on your own.

Jo congrats on the new car with the cool key!!

Garry I had my gallbladder removed a couple of years ago but not until I went through considerable pain and ended up really sick and jaundiced because I was stubborn and kept putting the op off, get it done asap. Richard took mine out and tells me he did a great job!

Can't remember what anyone else said but hope the rest of you are all well. I hope to get there on Monday but it won't be the same without Cheryl. What would we do if she ever left??

Take care

Hi all

Well - I survived the 11 year old daughters birthday party last night & today. Had three girls over last night for a sleepover (why do they call it a sleepover when they don't sleep??), then another 6 arrived this morning for the rest of the party.

The hardest part was keeping my son and the cake separated until the right time LOL. And deciding on the correct protocol when a guest loses a tooth at the sleepover. Does the tooth fairy come to our house, or do they take the tooth home?

Oh, and I've discovered that pastry and my band don't get along. Probably just as well......

I am not working next Monday night for a change, so I may be able to make the meeting. What time is it on?

Cheers

Hi All,

Wow, I haven't been on for 3 days, and I missed an entire page of posts, and 2 newbies!...

Shelly, Have a fabulous time in Daylsford, enjoy the relax. I hadn't heard of the woman in the US, but hey, 40 kg's down would be fab, with or without the band. I am now thinking even more positive about the Wii Fit, even if it does say Ouch every time I step on it... When do you get the results of your biopsy?

Garry, I hope your gall bladder thing goes very smoothly. When do you have the surgery?

Sarahrenee and Empress, welcome. I am relatively new at this also, I was banded by richard Gilhome 1 month ago, and can't wait for my 1st fill in 1 week and 4 days.

I got my new car last night. I can't remember if I posted that my old one was written off, but I was very excited, and it has the coolest key. One of my friends calls it a serial killer key, as you press a button, and it pops up like a knife. very very cool, and I think I have been talking about it more than the car. 2 new toys in one. The car and the key!

I hope everyone else is wonderful!

Have a great evening everyone
